Braze looked up at Jasper with glassy green eyes and he sniffled at hearing what Jasper said before shrugging and wiping his eyes on a long sleeve. " I don't want to think about that right now... I just wanna enjoy the time I do have with out thinking about the sad future. " he chirped and moved to just pull Jasper's arm about him more stubbornly as if indicating he wasn't going to let him leave so easily. "I dunno... being an adult sucks. I hate being responsible for every one else... I've learned most adults suck at being adults too..... It's not fun being the most reasonable person in the room... "

"It's okay... you don't have to worry about that right now," Jasper assured. "Believe me... I know that better than most people. If you'd like, you can just relax for a while... let me worry about being the adult for a few days, yeah?"

Jasper reached out his organic hand and wiped Braze's closer eye clear with his thumb.

"Let me worry about the responsibility just a little longer."

Braze smiled, looking up at Jasper with those glassy jade-green eyes.
"Okay, deal… you can make breakfast next," he agreed with an easy warmth.

"I'll get to introduce you to my own student soon enough," Braze chirped, the words carrying a quiet note of pride. "He's eager to learn, I like that about him. But…" his smile faltered into something more thoughtful, "I worry about why he wants to learn so desperately, so quickly." The concern lingered in his voice, drawn from his own experiences, a subtle red flag only he seemed to notice.

He sighed, shaking his head before tugging a small throw blanket over Jasper's arm and across himself, cocooning them both in its soft fuzz. "So," Braze asked curiously, tilting his head against Jasper's shoulder, "what plans do you have?"

"I can do breakfast," Jasper mused. "I've been working on a few things I think you'll like."

He had been learning to cook for a few months now and was getting quite good, or at least he thought so. It was just one of the many passtimes he found to enjoy while prioritizing taking care of Cole. When Braze mentioned the conviction of his new student, Jasper nodded and stroked his chin.

"Everyone has something they're running from at some point," the Master noted. "Whatever it is that compells him to learn, it will reveal itself to you in time. You just need to be ready to help him face it with a clear mind. Obsession can drive even the best of intentions to madness."

He shifted a little, letting out an exhale.

"From here it's renovating the Temple on Refuge," he stated. "I've gathered some Jedi that exiled themselves on the ring. Turns out folks are drawn there for some reason. Whatever the case is, I want to have a somewhat coherent operation online if we're gonna take in more refugees from the Core. I have a feeling that has only just begun..."

And what did it end with? Maybe the collapse of everything the Galaxy had grown to comfortably know in the last fifty years.

"That I'll like, you think~? I'll look forward to it. Good to hear you've been making friends... though I have to wonder why they may have exiled themselves... " Braze said, smiling at the mention of Jasper meeting other Jedi. "I might be able to help with the renovations if you want. I've gotten pretty handy with trades," he added gently.

"I think you might like my new assistant," Braze went on, his tone light. "Though you may have already met Gidgit."

"A lot of Jedi exiled themselves after the Core fell," Jasper noted. "How could people not take that hard? It's... well, the biggest failure they ever faced."

It was hard not to sympathize with those facing their own failure. Even if they really didn't have an effect on the fall of the Core at all. The Galactic Empire was just that overwhelming. There was nothing that could have changed that outcome on Coruscant.

"I wouldn't turn down the help," he decided. "I've met Gidgit, but they haven't met me yet. I only ever saw the little droid when they weren't active yet, back when you started building it..."

He had an excuse. He did sort of get dragged off on a year long adventure against his will.

"It's not like they caused it. " Braze offered simply. He shrugged and sighed before putting those thoughts aside, shifting slightly as his body sought a comfortable position. Braze did offer a smarmy sort of grin to Jasper. "I'm sure he'll be ecstatic to meet you. " He yawned and closed his eyes seemingly content to trap Jasper there.

"It's not like they caused it. "

"A child still feels bad when the crest of the sea washes away their sand castle," Jasper sighed. "Even if they couldn't have stopped it."

There would be time for lots of them to reflect. Given how quickly Braze mentioned the shield generator was destroyed, Jasper had a feeling that the victory of the Galactic Empire had been an unavoidable outcome. It was the wake-up call that the Galactic Alliance needed...

Or it's death bell.

"Excited to meet me, huh?" he mused. "What sort of stories have you been feeding that little droid's processor?"

"I suppose you're right though I still think the jedi ilk in general blame themselves far to often for other people's wrong doings. " Braze offered simply. " Mnnhmmn~ I told him all about you and Pyf too~" Braze nodded sleepily letting out a content sigh.

"I'm sure Pyf will be thrilled," Jasper chuckled. "He's off with Phy right now... They're on Lothal right now with Jalen, but I imagine they'll be along soon."

Jedi did always take more fault then necessary for things they didn't cause, did they? It was easier to speak from experience. If anyone understood that, Jasper and Braze surely did. He let that part of the conversation drift away. After all, there was nothing more to be said on the matter.

The Master let out a sigh and sank a little into the couch.

"I might just sleep for a whole day," he muttered. "Yeah... that sounds nice."

Braze was quiet as he listened. They could both rest for a while, and that seemed fine enough for now.
He shifted, moving to gather up the throw blanket and drape it over Jasper as well as himself, seemingly content with the idea of just resting for a while.

He'd awaken several hours later and leave Jasper's side to check on their course and how things were. It was never easy for Braze to get truly restful sleep, but he was more at ease knowing he was with Jasper once more.
