IMPERIAL CONFEDERATION
MAHPOREEM,
OUTER RIM TERRITORIES
TimHzFP.png
As the Imperial Confederation slowly takes it's place as the dominant Imperial faction in the galaxy, it as begun an extensive effort to consolidate most of the scattered Imperial elements across the galaxy under it's banner hoping to bring forth a new era of imperial dominance across the galaxy reminiscent of the days of the Old New Imperial Order. While some Imperial factions have opted to maintain their independence or have outright rejected the Confederation, others have come to understand the importance of unity amongst Imperials and have proven to be more receptive towards the Confederation's overtures.

Among these more receptive Imperial groups is an Imperial Remnant based on the Outer Rim world of Mahporeem. With a direct lineage going back all the way to the First Galactic Empire, this Imperial Remnant had survived mainly due to centuries of isolation from the galaxy, which most likely saved them from the Gulag Plague and the constant wars that had ravaged the galaxy in recent history. However recently the Imperials on Mahporeem had decided to reconnect themselves with the greater galaxy, which caught the attention of the nascent Imperial Confederation, the latest Imperialist galactic government to carry on the legacy of Palpatine's First Empire.

Seeing an opportunity to expand their influence in the galaxy and consolidate another Imperial group under their banner, the Confederation did not waste time into moving to contact the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant. Before long, Supreme Commander Marlon Sularen had taken his flagship the INV Sularen's Revenge to the planet in order to spearhead the Confederation's diplomatic outreach to Mahporeem, with the ultimate goal of establishing formal ties between the Confederation and Mahporeem and convincing them to join the Confederation in it's quest to restore Imperial power across the galaxy once more.

Soon, the INV Sularen's Revenge would arrive in orbit of Mahporeem transmitting a simple message to the local authorities in command of the Imperial Remnant on Mahporeem. "To the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant, i am Marlon Sularen, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Imperial Confederation. I have come here on the behalf of the Imperial Confederation to seek an audience with the leaders of your world in order to open bilateral relations between Mahporeem and the Confederation." the transmission would be followed by a set of Imperial codes utilized by the Imperial Confederation's Navy which while different from those utilized by the First Galactic Empire would be similar enough in structure to be recognized by the local authorities on Mahporeem as Imperial in nature which would validate the claims made by Sularen.

The first contact between the Imperial Confederation and Mahporeem had been made, and hopefully this diplomatic outreach would proceed as smoothly as possible as to ensure the eventual peaceful integration of Mahporeem into the Confederation.

My name is Ronhar Tane. I was born to human parents. My mother's name is Lormak. My father's name is Cordal. No matter what they do to me, I am still a human being.
My name is-

Ronhar awoke with a jolt, as if he had been physically shaken awake. As he laid on his durasteel cot, he though about closing his eyes and simply going back to sleep. Of course, an Imperial Commando like him could never really afford to sleep in, so he instead stood up and began to get himself ready for the day. He took a quick shower, brushed his teeth, performed a quick diagnostic scan on his cybernetics limbs and donned his uniform and equipment. As he prepared to leave his sleeping quarters, he took a moment to pause and recite his personal mantra:

"My name is Ronhar Tane. I was born to human parents. My mother's name is Lormak. My father's name is Cordal. No matter what they do to me, I am still a human being."

Every since the Rhydonium accident, Ronhar had been experiencing...difficulties adjusting to his new reality. He was aware of his new cybernetic limbs of course: those were blatantly obvious for anyone to see. What he was not aware of were all the neural implants that had been installed directly into his skull. After all, the doctors hadn't been exactly forthcoming with information on them. But whatever they were, or whatever they did, they sure made Ronhar one hell of a solider.

Ronhar made his way to the mess hall for a quick bite of breakfast. Even at 0600 hours, the room was packed with Junktroopers and support personnel, all jockeying with each other for a table to eat their food. As he joined the ever growing line of those waiting for their breakfast, he couldn't help but notice two Junktroopers getting into an increasingly loud argument:

"Why don't you watch where you're going next time, nerf herder?"
"Yeah? And why don't you go suck on some more Rhydo, you piece of bantha poodoo?"

As the two Junktrooper were moments away from getting into a brawl, Ronhar drew his heavy blaster pistol and fired a blaster bolt right in between their heads, leaving a large scorch mark directly on the wall across from them. Any conversations being had immediately ground to a halt, and room sat in awkward silence as everyone stared directly at Ronhar, all present far too terrified to say anything to the hulking Cyborg of a Stormtrooper.

"Why don't you two shut up before I deal with you myself?", Ronhar hissed at them through his modified Stormtrooper Helmet. Normally, Ronhar wouldn't pay an argument like that any mind, and would just let the MPs handle the situation. Yet, ever since his accident and surgery, he was quickly discovering that his patience for other people was rapidly wearing thin.

Suddenly, the room's loudspeaker system crackled to life, and began broadcasting a message to those present:

"CAPTAIN TANE, YOU ARE TO REPORT TO CONFERENCE ROOM 118-B IMMEDIATELY."

Ronhar sighed to himself. Look likes breakfast would have to wait. Holstering his heavy blaster pistol, he made his way to the conference room. He stood outside for a moment as the heavy blast doors opened for him, and he stepped inside.

To his surprise, he was greeted by the members of Mahporeem's Planetary Triumvirate:

-Victport Graras, the Imperial and Human representative
-Japh Krache, female Rodian representing the alien delegation
-Jibnax Yotree, the Merzoidian representative

He instantly stood at attention before the representative, until Graras delcared:

"At ease, Captain".

Ronhar complied, and Graras continued:

"That was quite the scene you caused in mess hall, eh Captain?"
"My apologies sir, I simply took the most expedient action to resolve the situation."
"I'm sure you did, Captain, but thats not why you're here. I want you to listen to this".

With that, Graras begain playing an audio recording:

"To the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant, I am Marlon Sularen, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Imperial Confederation. I have come here on the behalf of the Imperial Confederation to seek an audience with the leaders of your world in order to open bilateral relations between Mahporeem and the Confederation"

For a moment, the room sat in stunned silence. It would seem that both Krache and Yotree had been unaware of this communication. They quickly turned to Graras, with Krache angrily saying:

"What is this, Graras? Did you call them here? You would jeopardize our safety and security by calling strangers to our planet?'
"They're hardly strangers, Krache. I'm sure you recall the history of our fine planet? How the ancient Galactic Empire once held total dominion over this world? Of course I didn't call them here. It seems that their successors simply wish to reestablish ties with us."
"I don't like it, Graras", interjected Yotree. "I don't like it one bit. We've managed to survive by staying hidden for all these years. To reopen ourselves to them...puts everything we worked to accomplish in serious danger."
"What are we to do, Yotree?", Graras shot back. "A Super Star Destroyer is orbiting our system, and as head of the Military, I can confidently tell you that our current forces are outmatched. Do you really believe they'll ignore us because we asked them to? No, we need to meet with them and negotiate a favorable settlement on our terms."

The room descended into silence once more.

"Unless, of course, you'd like to find out firsthand just how deadly a Super Star Destroyer can be?", Graras quipped grimly.

Yotree sighed, and looked toward Krache.

"I suppose we don't have a choice, do we?"

Krached responded back:

"I suppose we don't. Very well, Graras, Yotree and I will support your decision to negotiate with these Imperials."
"Excellent", Graras responded. "I would like the good Captain here to travel with us, as head of our security detachment. Of course, you two are free to bring whatever security detail you would like to bring with you."
"Oh trust me Graras, I will be doing just that, Krache quipped as Yotree nodded in agreement.
"Then I believe our business here is concluded. Let's get our preparations in order. It seems we're going to have a busy day ahead of us."

With that, both Krache and Yotree exited the conference room, as Graras lingered behind for just a moment.

"Is everything alright, sir?, asked Ronhar.
"Fine, Captain Tane, just fine. Tell me, what do you make of this situation?"
"Me, sir? Well, I think its about time we get back into the galaxy. We've been silent for far to long. It's certainly good timing that this Marlon fellow dropped by when he did.
"Right...good timing...of course, thank you captain. You are to be on standby until further notice. Dismissed."

With that, Ronhar took his leave, readying himself for the negotiations that were soon to come.

IMPERIAL CONFEDERATION
MAHPOREEM,
OUTER RIM TERRITORIES
TimHzFP.png
As the Imperials on Mahporeem debated on how to react to Sularen's arrival, a single Gunship emerged from the ventral hangars of the Sularen's Revenge flanked by a pair of TIE Fighters. The Gunship quickly descended through the atmosphere of Mahporeem and made it's way towards the capital city of Corrox where the planetary leadership was most likely based. As the Gunship cleared the clouds and began it's final descent, it side doors opened up, allowing the occupants inside to get their first glimpse of Mahporeem's surface.

From inside the Gunship, Marlon Sularen took note of the features of Mahporeem's surface. It was littered with junkyards and salvage yards along with the hulks of decommissioned vehicles and starships. It reminded him of Ord Mantell, an Outer Rim world that had once been under the rule of the Dark Empire which shared some of the attributes of Mahporeem. Mahporeem had a lot of potential to serve as an industrial hub for the Confederation which could give it's people new jobs and attract migrants from other worlds, something that would revitalize the once isolationist world.

Before long, Sularen's Gunship would begin it's final approach towards Corrox, eventually making landfall at a landing pad right outside the main Imperial Command Center that served as the seat of power for the ruling Imperial Remnant. Once the Gunship came to rest it's doors opened allowing Supreme Commander Sularen to step outside, flanked by a squad of black-armored SpecNav Commandos and expecting to be greeted by a representative of the Imperial Remnant that would lead him to the Remnant's leadership.

"I see them now. Prepare for initial contact".

Ronhar and his team of Storm Commandos stood on either side of the landing pad, blasters armed and ready for any sort of potential conflict. Graras, Krache, and Yotree stood facing forward, arranged in a triangle formation with Graras at the head. Graras was himself flanked by a pair of Storm Commandos, while Krache had a pair of Alien Stormtroopers as his personal guard. Yotree, for his part, had selected a pair of Wookiee Troopers as his particular escort, the large-framed beings standing literal heads taller than everyone else assembled. Even Ronhar, being as tall as he was, was dwarfed in size by the massive Wookiees. Yotree must have selected the largest and tallest Wookiees he could find for the job. After all, he surely would want to make a lasting impression on the arriving Imperials.

As they began their final descent, the grounds crew radio'd the Imperial Delegation in for landing:

"Attention incoming Imperial Delegation, this is Landing Pad Onith. You have been cleared for landing. Maintain your current descent speed and adjust your landing vectors by 12°. We are standing by for your arrival".

Ronhar took immediate notice of the delegation's composition. The first thing that caught his eye was just how small it was: a single gunship escorted by a pair of TIE Fighters. Clearly this delegate was either dangerously overconfident, hopelessly naive...or powerful enough to reign destruction down on the planet should anything happen to him.

The second thing that caught his eye were the ships themselves. The TIE Fighters looked familiar enough, following the standard design philosophy that TIE Fighters followed. The Gunship, however, did not match anything in current inventory, though it did bear a passing resemblance to the LAAT series. Perhaps these new Imperials had resurrected the design and modernized it, which given the LAATs sterling reputation, made quite a bit of sense to him. After all, vintage LAATs were still in use by the Imperial Remnant, despite the basic design being centuries old at this point. Should things go well, the two factions would clearly have to exchange notes.

The final thing that caught his eye was the delegate's own personal escort. At first glance, they resembled standard stormtroopers with black armor. Ronhar, however, knew far better, and he could tell that these soldiers were highly trained and quite dangerous. He was confident that he assembled forces could defeat these unknown soldiers, though it would inevitably result in heavy casualties for all involved. More importantly though, should any short of shooting break out, he was unconfident in his ability to protect all three of the Mahporeem representatives from harm. Having a peaceful resolution would most definitely be in everyone's best interest.

As the delegate and his escort made their way off the landing pad, Ronhar and his team of Storm Commandos fell in behind them. Graras stepped forward to introduce himself:

"I welcome you, Delegate Marlon Sularen of the Imperial Confederation. I am Representative Victport Graras of Mahporeem, along with Representative Japh Krache and Representative Jibnax Yotree. We welcome you to our planet. Allow us to take you inside the command center."

Without waiting for a reply, Graras and his guards turned around toward the command center, along with Krache, Yotree, and the rest of the delegation. Ronahr and his Storm Commandos followed closely behind, as a small detachment stayed behind with the Delegate's ships. After a short journey, the delegation found itself in Conference Room 164-D, a large and luxurious setting for meetings of particular importance. Everyone present took their seats as both parties' guard fanned out across the room, ready to open fire at the slightest provocation.

Graras was the first to break the silence.

"Well now, Delegate Sularen, what can Mahporeem do for you?", he said with a slightly crooked smile...

Before long, Sularen and his entourage found themselves facing three local delegates and their own protection detail. The delegates introduced themselves as Victport Graras, Japh Krache and Jibnax Yotree and proceeded to welcome Sularen to their world. They then proceeded to lead Sularen inside their command center with Sularen taking only a pair of his Commandos with him, leaving the rest to guard the Gunship. After a short walk, Sularen and the local Mahporeem delegation arrived at a conference room where they all took their seats to begin the discussions in earnest with Graras being the first to speak.

"Please, call me Admiral Sularen" Sularen requested with a soft smile. While he was representing the Imperial Confederation on a diplomatic mission, he still preferred to maintain some form of military formality and be addressed through his military rank rather then in accordance to his status as an diplomatic envoy from the Confederation. "Like i said through my announcement, I'm here on the behalf of the Imperial Confederation which currently stands as the main Imperial power in the Galaxy in terms of influence and power. My objectives are to open bilateral relations between the Confederation and Maphoreem along with negotiating Maphoreem's entry to the Imperial Confederation."

Sularen then paused for a second before resuming. "Although, i must say. It is fascinating to see your world untouched by the constant chaos that has ravaged the galaxy for the past century. In fact only a few decades ago, this general area of space used to be a heated battlefield for a major galactic conflict between a previous Imperial Regime and a Sith-ruled Empire." the Supreme Commander added.

My objectives are to open bilateral relations between the Confederation and Maphoreem along with negotiating Maphoreem's entry to the Imperial Confederation."

Ronhar frowned as the Imperial delegate spoke, his facial expressions hidden by his Reflec painted Stormtrooper helmet. This so called "Admiral Sularen" was surprisingly polite for an Imperial delegate...perhaps even a bit too polite. Was treading cautiously around a new group of potential allies, worried about insulting them before a deal could be struck? Or was he perhaps simply as courteous as he initially appeared, this always being the way he conducted his business? Either way, his attitude made Ronhar uneasy, though no one present could tell how he felt.

The delegate paused for a moment to catch his breath, before resuming:

"Although, i must say. It is fascinating to see your world untouched by the constant chaos that has ravaged the galaxy for the past century. In fact only a few decades ago, this general area of space used to be a heated battlefield for a major galactic conflict between a previous Imperial Regime and a Sith-ruled Empire."

A fair observation, Ronhar thought to himself. The delegate was, of course, correct in his statement about Mahporeem remaining untouched by the ravages and wars of the galaxy. After the events of OPERATION: CINDER nearly 900 years ago, Mahporeem had made the deliberate choice to remain hidden from the galaxy, only venturing out to acquire items that were absolutely necessary to the continued survival of the planet's Imperial operations. Luckily for Mahporeem, its close proximity to The Ash Worlds and general isolation discouraged most visitors from trying to explore the planet, and so Mahporeem was able to remain hidden from the affairs of the galaxy for hundreds of years.

All until today, of course.

Victport Graras considered the admiral's statement for a moment, before himself responding:

"A particularly nasty piece of business, from what I understand. I've read the reports, and I'm sure you don't need me to tell you why Mahporeem would choose to remain uninvolved in the conflict. You see, Mahporeem had made the difficult decision to remain hidden from the galaxy for the last couple of centuries for a reason. We've created a thriving community here on this planet, and we can trace our unbroken lineage back to the fall of the original Galactic Empire itself. Why should we risk the internal affairs of our planet for your particular faction? As you can see, Mahporeem possesses a veritable treasure trove of starships, ground vehicles and spare parts, all of which will certainly be to the benefit of you and your people. I ask you directly: what can the Imperial Confederation do for us?"

Ronhar was surprised at how harsh Graras was being toward Sularen. While he understood that Graras wanted to make sure the Imperial Confederation would not try to take advantage of them, he though Graras was perhaps going just a bit too far. What Ronhar did not know was that Graras was the one who had leaked the location of Mahporeem to the Imperial Confederation in the first place, and that his tough stance was all an act to convince his fellow representatives that he had nothing to do with the Imperial Admiral's visit. After all, if Graras appeared to eager to join the Imperials, it would place an undue amount of suspicion on him, something that Graras wished to avoid at all costs. For their part, both Krache and Yotree were listening intently to what Graras was saying, undoubtedly looking to catch him in some sort of lie or falsehood.

Ronhar awaited the admiral's response to Graras, ready to take action should the admiral take offense to Graras's tone and choice of words...
