OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

  • Intent: A gift for [member='Thurion Heavenshield'], to ensure that he can speak with his children regardless of the distance between them.
  • Image Source: 3D Lion Pin @ TrophyDepot
  • Canon Link: Not Applicable
  • Restricted Missions: Not Applicable
  • Primary Source: Ninjen Ring | Rhak-Skuri Frir
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Hearthfire Forge
  • Model: Lion-Class Brooch
  • Affiliation: [member='Thurion Heavenshield']
  • Modularity: None
  • Production: Unique
  • Material: Alchemized Electrum, Blood
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Alchemical Telepathy; Ability to contact an individuals nearest and dearest across vast distances
Strengths:
  • Due to the alchemical process, the brooch is extremely durable and can withstand most duress. It will survive more than a glancing blow with a lightsaber, capable of lasting several seconds under prolonged contact.
  • Capable of allowing its wearer, [member='Thurion Heavenshield'], to contact those he holds close to his heart, namely his children, via telepathy.
  • Bearing the sigil of House Heavenshield, it is for the most part an inconspicuous trinket that should warrant very little attention.
Weaknesses:
  • Difficult to wear with armour, due to its girth, making it an impractical tool during battle. The likelihood is that it would not even fit beneath armour, and obviously cannot be attached to any armour thicker than leather.
  • Due to the alchemical process, and the fact that it is not hollow, it is a heavy trinket given its size.
  • It will only provide communication with those an individual truly loves.
  • This version can only be utilized by the Warden of the West, [member='Thurion Heavenshield'].
  • It must be touched by the skin of its wearer in order to be effective; this can be as simple as settling a fingertip over the brooch, but the physical connection must be kept throughout the mental conversation or else the mental one will be broken.
DESCRIPTION

When [member='Mysa Snowstrider'] went missing, it was [member='Thurion Heavenshield'] who brought her back to her family and her home. When the Vinterbound marched upon Thainbroek, he stood in its defense. When the Sith attacked their world, he brought about its defense. And now that he has retired from his role within the Jedi, it was he who carved a new settlement into the West to house the refugees of war and bring about a new round of prosperity.

The debt that [member='Kära Hearthfire'] owes her old friend is insurmountable.

Being that both are parents now, and Kära has already faced the near-death of two of her own children, she realizes the importance of keeping them close and safe. As a result, to honour all he had done and to protect her niece and nephews, she took to her forge and created him a beautiful brooch. Unlike her previous creations, this time the only blood she used was her own - that of an Umbaran - which she strengthened into a focus for telepathic abilities, a thing her people are renown for.

Crafted in the shape of a lion, the sigil of House Heavenshield, the brooch gives Lord Heavenshield the capability to contact those he loves in sincerity from across the Galaxy, as only the intense love he bears for them coupled with the focus of the brooch can bring about the connection... At least without the Heavenshields having to bleed to have it otherwise. Kära did not wish to bring harm to his children, knowing all too well the pain caused by the forging process.

The brooch must be touched with skin in order to be used. This physical connection creates the mental one, and removal of this touch will break any telepathic connection forged.
