The Limits Of Ones Reach

[member="Darben Skirae"]'s message had indeed been heard and escorted by an officer and two of the 501st's finest, he too would join [member="Riven Black"] in entering the briefing room, Veiere's gaze being drawn to the door as Riven would introduce himself first; "Greetings Riven, I am glad to see you have found your way here. Encouraging to have two of Commenor's secretary powers here to assist in the Lady Presidents return" His eyes travelled to Darben who he too offered a solemn nod before extending a hand and gesturing for them both to take their seats.

Turning his attention soon to Einon, Veiere listened as he gave a more detailed recap of the incident though not as informative as they needed, his brows furrowed, gaze shifting a moment as he considered the weight of all things said before shifting his attention across the table to [member="Thraxis"] of whom interjected with shared skepticism. "Sadly I have to agree, which is why I have contacted someone within The First Order to see if they can come up with any greater leads. There's not a lot to go on, true..." his voice seemed to quieten, a pause in his demeanor as he studied Thraxis for a time before leaning back into his seat, his and lacing at the fingers to be rest upon his lap. "I will admit that there could be a large amount of suspicion given towards the Hutt Cartel, which is why I reached out to [member="Flannigan Mcnash"], an associate of your own and one I expect you'll be familiar with in terms of grudges against the good [member="Lady Kay"]; the point of the invitation however was not to accuse but to confirm a suspicion of my own in that this does not feel like a solely criminal endeavor...".

Glancing about the table, he took a moment to gauge everyone's moods before laying his cards out. "What drew me away from the battle on Atrisia was not the contact of the Commenori Government but rather...", he had to be careful in his explanations so not to divulge too much of the Madame Presidents own abilities. "Something that I felt, perhaps strengthened through the chaos of war I do not know...-The fact is that through the Force I could hear her cry out and..." His eyes squinted some, forehead creasing as he found no comfort from recalling such a feeling, as brief as it were; "It felt as if she were afflicted, as if her strength was fading or...Being pulled from her..." it all would've sounded very mismatched to those not of Force Sensitivity yet it was all he had to work with outside of their involvement. "This is why I do not believe the Hutt Cartel is involved, or at the very least primarily responsible for her abduction".

"Now, it seems to me as though we have very few options at the moment without reaching out to every contact we all harbor; the fact of the matter is that Commenor needs to continue to work as it was before this", turning to look to Darben and Riven, he gestured to the pair of them accordingly. "I've seen your names down on the books, I've been at Kay's side for a long time now and I know you're both well qualified at what you do. I would ask that you continue your efforts for Commenor's sake...-How you wish to attack the publicity around this situation is up to you, I am no politician...-The rest of us will need to get in touch with anyone who might hear of something regarding Kay and this foul business. Even if it's only a whisper, pursue it until we have some solid clue as to where we might find her and then together, we will see her back where she belongs".

Ultimatum listened intently to the description of what was known. Unfortunately [member="Thraxis"]'s sentiment was mostly correct. There was not enough information to easily locate the intended enemy. There was a lot of lacking information that would need to be found in order to make the identification more readily obtainable. Of course, that was unlikely to occur. It was more probable that they would need to work with what they had for the remainder of this search. The droid was glad to see that [member="Veiere Arenais"] had planned for this and was intending to spread out the search.

The artificial intelligence did not know many people who would have been directly interested in or have been aware of the missing Kay, however he had a great deal of knowledge in the HoloNet. Perhaps he could find something related to the disappearance, however that would likely take a back seat. His main focus would be to let a good friend of Kay's know of what had happened. If he would respond or not was his prerogative, but Ultimatum believed that it was best to keep him updated. That friend was [member="Ryn'Dhal"], a Jedi who had come to taking [member="Lady Kay"] as part of his pack. While he might not know where she had been taken, he might be able to aid them in finding her.

Ultimatum thought of another method that might at least give some more information on who had taken Kay. He questioned Einon, "You said that tracks were found, that led to her apparent capture. What about from that point? Any sign of tracks leading away from that moment, maybe slightly deeper under the weight of carrying a body?" It was a start for the droid if nothing else.

Einon looked to [member="Thraxis"] while he made his sarcastic comments. He was right, they all knew it and they were all thinking it. There wasn't a lot to go on. Next to nothing, actually, and that made him feel even more of a failure. Yet he kept all of that locked away in his stoic visage as his training had taught him to do.

He listened to [member="Veiere Arenais"] and his points. Yes, Commenor still needed to be governed and protected. No doubt the Elders were already making preparations, though he didn't really know for sure.

[member="Ultimatum"] was the first to really ask a question with regards to the crime scene. Fortunately, it was one that he had some sort of answer for. "Yes. The tracks led a short distance away, just the big set. Then it appears that a transport or speederbike was used, given the spread of the dirt and small pebbles on the ground. That passage leads out of the canyon to a small grove where we found the Presidents commlink, broken. With that we lost any means of tracking her electronically as she didn't have her datapads with her. Everything relating to work was left in her office."

[member="Samka Derith"] [member="Ghorua the Shark"] [member="Darben Skirae"] [member="Riven Black"] [member="Ryn'Dhal"]

Ghorua listened to all speak quietly, taking in the situation with nothing but slumped shoulders. Ghorua couldn't find any connections between these occurrences that would give him the edge, and that was what scared him. Usually, when he looked at information, he could piece things together; a scent in the air, a stirred pebble, a witness. Not even the Elders could discern a hint. Nothing existed for him to use. He was trying to manufacture a blaster with sticks and stones.

A Bounty Hunter's worst nightmare.

The Shark balled his fists, and sighed, just as [member="Darben Skirae"] and [member="Riven Black"] walked in, each seeming to marvel at the odd bunch. Ghorua was used to being in strange groups, so this didn't appear as weird to him. To be fair, he was usually the oddest in a group.

He nodded to [member="Veiere Arenais"] as he spoke, choosing his next words carefully. "I'll keep my feelers out, Jedi. Whoever decided capturing Kay was a good idea..." He stood to his full height, muscles bristling powerfully. "Is going to find out it was a very, very bad idea."

Ghorua had kept relatively calm for the entire ordeal, despite having just heard that his friend had been kidnapped. Now, his rage blossomed from his chest, sending shudders through the Force. He was angry.

And someone was going to have that anger turned on them.

He was ready to get on the Hunt.

- [member="Lady Kay"] - [member="Ultimatum"] - [member="Thraxis"] - [member="Samka Derith"]

It was clear that the information provided was displeasing, the scrunched brows of the many told their concerns. Judging from the report the attack seemed to have been well thought out. The attacker must have been waiting till President Kay was ripe for the taking. This meant a numerous amount of things. Stealth had already been a suggested form of action that the assailant chose to use during the endeavor. If this was the case that mean't the camera's on the far outposts in the Twin Canyon Mines would do little to nothing in helping find out who the kidnapper was. Even so, Riven churned for an answer when a unfamiliar droid stepped forward and asked about the residual tracks that were left behind. [member="Ultimatum"] had given him a completely different idea.

Before Riven went to interject a Herglic also stepped forward, his bulking muscles the size of the Twin Canyons themselves. His demeanor showed a slight hint of anger, but his calming resolve showed through in his words. A light smile reached Riven's pale face, his brown eyes scanning the Herglic warrior over. It was an odd bunch, but it would do.

Einon had gone over the fact that the commlink was broken by the time they reached the grove. Electronic methods may have been out of the question. Although, Riven knew that most of the guards that followed Kay out of the palace had tracer guns. It was doubtful that the assailant would have been reckless enough to allow a tiny beacon to do them in. The report from Einon also mentioned a guard living after the initial crash with debris in his leg, maybe he had time to fire off a tracker on the kidnapper or the kidnappers speeder bike, but it was unlikely.

Riven looked around, it was clear that the concern for Kay was slowly starting to drain the positive attitude from the air. After all, the amount of work that had been put in by Kay and others to make Commenor, what it was today, meant a lot to other planets and significant alliances. This wasn't just any president, this was the first president to reach out to those in need and now, when she needed all of them the most; they had nothing. For now.

A few minutes of silence had stirred the room into an awkward pool of angry and hopeful. Flicking his jacket backwards, Riven thought of something. If the man couldn't be traced from the actual accident, maybe they were all looking in the wrong place. Riven grinned, thinking about his last few thoughts and spoke out, his smooth voice calming the room with a potential hope to grab onto.

"Einon you mentioned that the commlink was Broken in the grove, correct?" Riven paused. "So with electronic tracking out of the question have we done a full, thorough search where the two guards met their peril? I only ask because I know for a fact they have tracer guns...while it is highly unlikely that we'll get a result from it I'd start there."

Riven lifted his fingers to his chin and turned to the Jedi, [member="Veiere Arenais"]. His lips parted, his fingers toying with the small hairs of his jaw.

"I've been aware of how close the two of you have gotten and I know this may be a difficult time for you, along with the rest of us but I urge you to stand strong. I was thinking about the intelligence level of the assailant. Redirection, it's a simply strategy, actually. Perhaps we are looking in the wrong places on purpose, maybe the guards are our key to finding her. There was a mentioning of a huge sword that had gutted one of our guards. Have we tested the area for abnormal signatures, force related, or maybe even spiritually. Throughout the course of history, blades made of steel aren't used unless attuned to some sort of force related or dark magic equivalency. Just a thought." Riven looked to [member="Darben Skirae"] and back at the Jedi. "You mentioned Commenor and how we can contain the situation on our home front, that can be handled quickly. I'm here to let you know, I am a capable fighter. I will not standby doing nothing, Kay has given myself an opportunity to become something worth striving for. I trust that you won't mind another fighter when the time comes?"

Riven retracted his foot, his arm that once grazed his face now at his side. he was calm and collected. Most of all he looked at each and everyone of them, a deep respect growing for those around him. He had acted strong, but even acting couldn't prevent the kindling fire within him.

A fire that stung like the wind...

Darben Skirae took the offer of his hand, taking it in his own and shaking. "Anything to get her back." He moved to take his own seat, resting his hands on his lap. He felt nervous. This wasn't a meeting about diplomacy, or about establishing an embassy. It was about the kidnapping of their president.

As [member="Veiere Arenais"] spoke, Darben had chills. He knew things of the Hutt Cartel. A faction he would rather not ever do business with. But that's not what gave him the chills. It was Veiere's next words. 'Fading strength', 'crying out'. Whoever had [member="Lady Kay"] must have been putting her through some kind of torture, or something akin to it. It was something he didn't want to think about. Yet he just couldn't stop himself from doing so. The force was mysterious to him, and he had not known the two had a connection through it. His hands clenched tightly on his lap as he pictured Kay somewhere dark, victim to terrifying torture.

Darben turned his attention to the droid, [member="Ultimatum"], then to Einon as they both spoke of tracks. "So that's it then" he murmured quietly. No trace of where she went. There must have been something. Anything at all. "What of anyone besides the Hutt Cartel? Any other suspects?" Someone here must have known something of her past. What if this all was some kind of revenge plot? He was unsure if it had already been discussed or not, as he had been late. [member="Riven Black"] spoke of tracer guns. It was a start, it gave Darben some hope. He also spoke of remaining on Commenor. If it was what must be done, then Darben would stay behind as well. He nodded in agreement to Riven. "I'll stay too."

[member="Ghorua the Shark"] [member="Samka Derith"] [member="Thraxis"]

Ultimatum nodded as he listened to the information. They had followed that tracking at least, it would give them a location of initial liftoff, now it was merely a question of attempting to identify the ship. To that end he queried Einon again, "At that position did you find any landing gear marks? Or were there more repulsorlift disturbances. Were there any burn marks left from a hasty takeoff?"

If the first two, if it were the former it would make things easier to attempt to track, just like the tracks of an animal could help identify it so could the landing gear of a starship. It was unlikely to give them the exact ship, unless it was a very unique type of landing gear that left a very peculiar mark, however it would cut down the lift to a manageable one hopefully, from which they could attempt to use flight towers and satellite readings to try and identify the ship. That was assuming that the ship used was not a general transport or another ship with simplistic landing gear. The concept of repulsorlift tracking would be far more difficult, depending on the strength and size of the disturbance left behind.

If the kidnapper had been too rushed in his attempt to flee, the exhaust of the ship might have burned the plants which would hopefully tell how long ago the ship had left, as well as potentially telling them the type of fuel the engines were using. Ultimatum found it most unfortunate that none of these would really narrow the field of search down excessively, but that was how it worked when trying to rebuild a crime scene.

As fast as lightning stardust was already heading towards commenor, worry fear and anger welled in her being, she quickly sent a message to the only man for the moment she wanted to know that she was coming

"Veiere, I am heading to the planet now, I want all info on what's going on...tell no one I am arriving "

With that she looked out as space broke to real space, she closed her eyes and willed herself to calm down, her emotions wouldn't control her actions she'd have a clear head going into this

Although [member="Ghorua the Shark"] was an ally and friend of Kay's, Einon still found the Herglic to be intimidating. But then the same could probably be said for everyone. He hated not having all of the answers that everyone sought. But there was no point in complaining. It would solve nothing.

Einon looked to [member="Riven Black"] as he was spoken to. He shook his head slowly in response, "From what we could gather no shots were fired by her guards. It appears as though they were ambushed and had no time or thought to draw their weapons. One only survived until he was stabbed and we suspect that it was soon after his speederbike crashed." The idea of checking for spiritual or Force presence was a new one to him, and he wondered if [member="Veiere Arenais"] knew of such a way to test it.

His attention was then turned to [member="Darben Skirae"] . It was good that he was here. The Elders had tasked Einon with information for him and he wasn't quite sure how the timid Minister would take it. But the Elders always have the final say and it was his duty to follow their orders. "Minister Skirae, the Elders have requested that you become the Acting President until the Madam President has returned. I know that you don't like to travel very much and you will be needed on Commenor while she isn't there. As we are a trade world, it makes sense for you to take on the position as you will know how to keep us moving forward. As for what other suspects there could be, she did have some issues with the Mandos and there are some Sith that could also be angry over losing control of Commenor. " Whether he took the position or not, Einon would have to pass on his decision.

And then [member="Ultimatum"] spoke up. The droid was very intelligent and was able to think in ways that they couldn't, due to emotional distress. "If you would like, I could take you to the Twin Canyons and you can further detail our investigation there. You may find things that we would have otherwise missed." He looked to Veiere. "That is of course, unless you have need of him."

[member="Stardust Raxis"] [member="Ryn'Dhal"] [member="Thraxis"] [member="Samka Derith"]

The notion of a signature left in the surrounding area of the initial attack was a good one, it had also crossed Veiere's mind however he had not been given a chance to check it for himself and beyond that, he had only just returned from a battle on a world being drawn between both Jedi and the remnants of the Sith Empire, the latter of which Veiere had found himself supporting against all the odds. His own signature and presence within the force was not of it's usual calm; instead he had felt fueled by those others so heavily saturated in the Dark Side of the Force that it had bled out onto him and his presence, his quiet of mind and connection to the Force had suffered because of it. It was not in the way that it meant he was any less able to use the Force but rather he had felt the shift in his self, the lure of darkness calling to him and the fight he once put up against such temptations no longer weld the same strength of conviction; he was once a Warden of the Light and now...-Well, now he wondered if he cared at all.

[member="Lady Kay"] of course was another matter entirely and one he did care for. Einon turned to him for some sort of approval and shifting to look across the table to the man, Veiere offered a brief half nod in agreement before looking to the others as he replied, "Everyone is free to conduct their own search for the Lady President as they so wish, I did not call you all here to stand above anyone but in the hope that we can work together. All I ask is that you would call on me should any of you learn anything relevant to her whereabouts...-If there are other practitioners of the force there, I would be there with you all to combat whatever Resistance we meet in securing and returning her to Commenor". Looking soon to Riven Black he offered a curt nod in acknowledgement to his wish to remain in the fight as opposed to on Commenor serving the people in the Presidents absence; Veiere's suggestion had been for the sake of the many yet he would not oppose anyone willing to take a stand and if needs be, fight for Kay as he himself wanted nothing less than to do so too. "If Minister Skirae agree's then we can consider Commenor in safe hands, thankfully. Seems the rest of us..." His voice faded swiftly as the entrance to the room hissed open and the doors retracted into the walls, an officer of the Chimaera entering and moving with little a word as he rounded the table and approached Veiere's side, leaning down to speak quietly on their imminent new guest. Stardust Raxis, she was another who Veiere had not seen in a great deal of time though had connections to Kay through supposed family ties; the lady president once having been accepted into the Mandalorian clan of Raxis, or so he had gathered. Much of the Mandalorian culture confused him still to this day. "Ensure she has permission to board if requested, otherwise inform her of all the presidential office has on the incident" Veiere responded, looking up to the officer before he was given a swift and firm salute and then left to return his attention to the meeting before him. "I apologize...-I seem to have assistance everywhere these days, it is somewhat discomforting...-Let us continue".

"While our friend here is on Commenor, I would not join him; I myself am struggling with the after-effects of Atrisia and while I know not what you'll find here, I can be of more use now traveling to other worlds to liaise with those that claim to support the Commenori people" He shifted somewhat, leaning back into his seat as he gazed around the group. "I plan to visit both the Silver Jedi Order on Voss, as well as the First Order on Avalonia. Both of these governments stand strong in the Force and I feel my best chances to learn of anything will be found on either of those of whom I hold contacts with. Beyond this...-We stay in regular contact if and where possible".

A holo-call was sent, from the helm of the Mask. The visual was of a wide-eyed Ryn'Dhal. Pupils were but razor slits, and the faintest quivering could be witnessed in his snow white whiskers, contrasting with his obsidian fur.

In a word, the felinoid looked damn near mad.

"[member="Veiere Arenais"], I wish this call was made under better conditions." his voice was obviously strained, his emotions obviously not constrained at the moment. "It is for everyone else's safety that I am not there in person. My species.... condition.... would make things a bit.... hazardous...."

A sharp intake of breath, as he felt that.... tingle.... he needed to calm down, or shift preemptively.... "Just.... when we learn where she is.... let me know.... I will be where I'm needed when the call comes. Ryn'Dhal out...."

As suddenly as the call came, it was gone.

Meanwhile, on Ryn'Dhal's ship, a primal cry of anguish went unheard, as a certain felinoid took on his quadrupedal form, to keep from destroying his vessel from the inside out, as is known to occur when one shifts involuntarily.

Ultimatum listened to both Einon and [member="Veiere Arenais"] before responding, there was a need to be at the scene. While Ultimatum doubted that he would find the solution all on his own, he did believe that he could collect information that would aid in the search. His plan was to attempt to locate first and foremost an approximate time that the ship would have left at. From there Ultimatum hoped to be able to collaborate with the various space stations, starports, and authorities to create a basic idea of the ships that had left the planet at that time. Then using whatever clues could be collected from the crime scene, they would remove those vessels that did not fit the descriptions of what they found.

It was certainly not the prefect plan, given that if the kidnappers had taken certain precautions then it would become significantly more difficult and far less trustworthy, but it was a risk that had to be taken. At the same time, Ultimatum had anticipated these changes and thus he could potentially account for some oddities or missing info. It was going to be interesting definitely, it was a matter of how easily the information would be to attain.

"Then with your leave sir, I will head to the planet and begin my investigation of the last known location of the ship. I shall keep you informed of all revelations that I might find," turning to Einon the droid then asked, "Shall I take myself down the planet or do you already have transportation ready?" Ultimatum was fine with either way, whichever method would be most convenient for the forces of a world that had so recently lost its ruler. He hoped that he would be able to help find [member="Lady Kay"].

Einon nodded to [member="Veiere Arenais"] . It seemed as though all were in agreement and would soon part ways. With so many different minds working separately, yet together, they might be able to find some sort of lead soon. It was the best way to go about a difficult situation.

He turned his attention to [member="Ultimatum"] . "You can travel down to the Twin Canyons with me. You will have complete access to anything you need. The President never kept anything from you, so nor shall I."

Now he waited to see what the others would do, or if they were all dismissed. Already he was anxious for the President to be found and for things to return to normal. Hopefully that would all happen soon.

Darben listened on to everyone. Until his name was mentioned, which was when he straightened up a bit. He looked over to Einon, carefully listening to what was to be said. Needless to say, if Mute could speak, she would have gasped. Darben's hands tensed on his lap. He had been chosen to be in Lady Kay's place in her absence. He couldn't understand why. He was a trader at heart, not a politician. But, if that was what was needed of him, than that he would do. And it became clearer anyway when Einon continued. He was the Minister of Trade after all, and Commenor was a trade world. It made more sense.

"Okay...Very well then. I'll do my best in her stead." He just hoped he wouldn't get too used to it. He looked to [member="Veiere Arenais"] and spoke, "When I can, I shall see what there is to do." He then turned to Einon. "There's no guidelines I have to read, is there?" No doubt this would not be an easy job. But someone had to do it, and he had been picked for such a role.
