The Last of it's Kind (Open)

Slowly walking to the bridge of the small, outdated Mon Calmarrai Corvette, Saran was tense. She had been wanting to do this for a while. The Silver Jedi's empire had taken Zyggeria, but still some slavers profited, hidden based across the galaxy. And one had a trade route passing by Sanctuary enough route to some far off planet in the Outer rim.

They should have chosen a different route.

The corvette shuttered as a blast tested it's shields. The EMPION blast had fired off. That ment they had arrived. Three ships, she sensed. Two transports and a smaller escort ship. Stepping onto the bridge, the Miraluka looked to the Admiral. "How much of a threat is that ship?" She asked.

"It's shields are hampered, and there's a possibility the weapons are offline." The older man said. A retired captain in the Protectorate Navy, Admiral Natashai knew more about space combat than Saran could dream of. And although she technically outrageous him, the Knight was content to learn from him. "I'd be surprised if they could even launch fighters."

Nodding, she turned th a Zyggerian standing near the door. They exchanged a long look for a moment. Four years ago, the man had tortured her, trying to break her to be an obedient slave before passing her along to a convoy. The ship's we're ambushed, and Saran had been freed, but she had never forgotten. It was the very reason she was here. A few months ago, the very man had joined the Galactic Liberation Collective. Slavers joining groups that free slaves. They were pushed to the front, acting as shields for the bulk. Eventually, they had begun training. For some reason, someone higher up had decided that Saran should command the group under him. Some days she thought the Force had a sense of humor.

"Lieutenant Farnor. Is the boarding party prepared?" The man nodded. "Good. I'll be with you shortly." The Zyggerian ran off to the troops. Turning back to the bridge, she gave the Order. "Admiral, commence attack. Be sure not to damage those transports."

As the ship began to move forward, raking the enemy ship's hull with plasma, the Knight sprinted to the landing bay. The corvette, while her command, was not what she excelled at. She would lead the boarding parties. Although she planned to learn how eventually. As the troops loaded on and they left with a small fighter escort to boot, the Knight couldn't help but smile. This was going to be good.

It was about time things got real.

Geneviève had a bad taste in her mouth after the last boarding adventure. An inexplicably random Sith had appeared and tossed her around like a rag doll, nearly taking her life and still haunting her on occasion in her dreams. But she was stronger now. She had learned her lesson and had developed some tricks of her own. Not to mention, she would be boarding with a few more allies at her side. Still, it would be folly to consider this a cakewalk.

Saran, her savior, was heading this operation, and while Gen was rather unattached about most things, she was intent on seeing the Miraluka alive at the end of this skirmish. The coat that draped over her armor was lined with blades and syringes filled with a cocktail of chemical that she would use indiscriminately if it meant protecting herself or her group overall. Saran, you have me. She would maintain mental contact with her comrade throughout this time, considering it imperative to a well-coordinated operation.

Sidling next to the GLC commander, Lasedri gave no eye contact but offered a little nod. "Regor," she greeted. "May the Force be with us." Whatever. It was formality.

Excitement seemed to buzz through the air like electricity as the ships approached. It seemed everyone hadn't had enough fighting the past few weeks. Soldiers can be like that. Looking through the viewpoint at the targets, she felt [member="Geneviève Lasedri"]'s touch in her mind. Pausing, she rolled the saber's grip in her hands. As they reached the half way point, the troops divided into the squads. The other transport, aparently faster than its counterpart, was docking, no doubt entering a dimly lit corridors as she was about to. She turned around, preparing to ready the troops, when she turned strait into Farnor. She must have been rather preoccupied. Her hand ran up to her neck, remembering the electric burns that he had put there. "What is it, Captain." Her voice was flat.

"We're almost here, and I wanted you to know something." He sighed as she threw him an inquisitive look. "I never wanted to hurt you. I hated my job. Personal cases of the queen's always got special treatment." Looking to the ground, he said one last thing before returning to the cabin. "That's why I asked to serve under you. I wanted to apologize." And with that, he was gone, probably giving his troops orders.

It took her a moment to follow him, and by then, the Legionaries were ready. The other squads beyond the Heralds were setting up for breach. Showtime it was.

As soon as the gates opened, the Knight stepped through. She was, after all, better equipped to take on any incoming fire from enemy combatants. "Admiral, keep that corvette occupied. I don't care what it takes, keep it away from us." With the affirmative on the radio, she began to advance through a dim, red-light hall, a saber hilt in each hand. They were in the cargo hold. Probably setting an ambush.
