OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
HYPERLANE INFORMATION
  • Hyperlane Name: The Keeta Run
  • Hexes Crossed: 6
  • Start Coordinate: AN-17
  • End Coordinate: AL-23
  • Route Points: Etti IV - Almania - Tion - Raxus.
HYPERLANE CHARACTERISTICS
  • Speed: High
  • Accessibility: The Keeta Run was subject to an intense media campaign at its formal opening to the public and it is heavily encouraged to be used by traders, travellers, business sentients and everyone in between. Favored traders and corporations get discounts at the refueling depots and rest stops maintained by Didact throughout the Hyperlane and their tolls are significantly lowered.
  • Route Hazards: The main reason there had never been a Run directly between the Corporate Sector and the Tion Cluster can be led back to the presence of a thick Nebula that covers a large portion of the otherwise traceable route. With the presence of the Parlemian Trade Route it was always simply less expensive to make the go around rather than try and fund an attempt to pierce the nebula through expensive S-thread boosters. Things changed and it was determined that the Parlemian Trade Council had the potential of exercising too much influence over trade moving in and out of the Corporate Sector.
There are still some hazards. Spontaneous ion storms can cause ships to be ejected out of Hyperspace with their systems fried, privateers hired by third parties have been known to hunt down wealthy trade ships in the space between security outposts. Every once in a while a herd of Purrgil pass through the lane and cause ship-collision in hyperspace. The latter is speculated to occur, because the spacefaring creatures make their home within the nebula this hyperlane crosses. The collisions, then, occur during their migration seasons as they travel from one corner of the nebula to the other.

Overall the Run is heavily patrolled by the Corporate Fleet of Antigone L.L.C, Didact Defense Solutions and the Corporate Sector Authority. They keep the lane largely free from raiders and privateers, while regularly placed outposts around the crux points of the hyperlane ensure that even if a traveler is yanked out of their journey, they still have a place to receive repairs and fuel. Parts of the Keeta Run move through Sith Empire space, Antigone L.L.C. has negotiated favorable terms with the Empire. These portions of space are either guarded by the Empire's extensive navy, the sovereign forces of the nation or the corporate assets of Antigone.
  • Rest Stops: There are regular refuel and refit outposts throughout the hyperlane to ensure a smooth transition for any travellers in trouble. Furthermore Didact maintains several security outposts that aim to keep law and order throughout that region of space, while providing support to the security patrols.
There are two major transit stations on the hyperlane.

The first is the Black Star Station. Black Star is located just outside the Corporate Sector Authority and skirts against the Sith Empire’s border. As a result it is subject to legal limbo as both entities have interest in the gargantuan asteroid mining outpost. Black Star is build within a thick asteroid field which it mines for valuable minerals and ores, most of its trade and export is to Etti and it's corporate interests. Only recently the station went through major tragedy with the outbreak of a deadly biological strain that caused the animation of the Undead. It took the direct intervention of the Sith Empire to put a stop to the threat and restore order to the station, bringing back trade and restarting mining operations.

Those that visit Black Star Station will be welcomed with suspicious eyes and a closed-off attitude. The surviving denizens are increasingly more suspicious of newcomers, especially with the flux of immigrants and fortune seekers from the Empire. But there are a healthy amount of amenities available to them as well. From rich refuelling bays to extensive shipyards operated and maintained by the Empire on the crucial service side, while a healthy entertainment district operates deeper within the floating mining city.

From strip clubs, to bars, to shockbox rings, Black Star has you covered.

The second major transit point is located square in the middle of the Nebula. Set up as a large scientific research outpost Geneva Station has a distinctly different atmosphere compared to Black Star. Most of the station is off-limits to non-personnel, but for a price they are allowed to take a look at some of the readings the station has made from the surrounding Nebula. Pictures of the bright scenery are high in demand for the travellers passing through.

There are a limited amount of quarters for those that have extensive repair needs, but for the most part Geneva Station is a transit station. You refuel, eat your food, take a nap, then get back underway.

DESCRIPTION

The Keeta Run came into being to supply a particular need: a direct connection between the Corporate Sector and the Tion Cluster without any influence from outside sources that could complicate the traffic of goods and people. Especially with the rise of the Sith Empire, the fall of the Silver Jedi Order (at least in that region of space) and the creations of new corporate entities in response to both.

The main force pushing for this was Antigone L.L.C. A Corporate Alliance and lobbying group within the Corporate Sector that was becoming increasingly more influential in the Corporate Sector Authority.

Didact Defense Solutions developed a new state-of-the-art S-thread booster that allowed them to maintain both the boosters as well as the hyperlane in-house. This spurred the project into overdrive mode. Didact hired a host of experienced pilots, explorers and even some force sensitives to assist with charting a viable path through the Nebula that had been such a problem for centuries.

After several months, many expenses and some casualties they managed to plot out a stable course with the assistance of its new S-threads.

Finally the Tingel Arm had a straight connection from the Corporate Sector to Raxus Prime. Which cut back on travel time for salvagers, recycle barons and other corporate interests. It also enabled civilian traffic to cut down on fuel costs, as they were no longer forced to make a large detour just to get where they needed to go. Throughout it all Antigone L.L.C. profited heavily from the new hyperlane as they were able to raise tolls, lined the route with refuel depots and maintenance stations, ensuring that every step of the way their enterprise profited one way or another.

The Keeta Run was open for business.
