Private The Hunt

Ravenous Maestus Maestus

The Time had come. After sending out a breadcrumb trail, requesting anyone to head to the given coordinates in exchange for a reward, Jayda's ship and crew landed on Selvaris. A Planet of the Wild Space region. The chosen Coordinates lead to an isolated section of a large forest like jungle, which was a dominate terrain for the planet. The time given to those who followed the signal, would place the time of arrival at around sunset. The signal sent out didn't possess any ID from the sender, only a set of coordinates and a time. The large clearing it pointed to was bare, except for a large Kleeque Transport ship, its ramp down and a Togruta sitting on the metallic surface. She looked like a mechanic, oil stains covering her face and hands, dark gloves besides her.

The dense forest around them still teemed with life and sound, even so close to night. The Ship's lights cast themselves across the short grassed clearing, easily able to house multiple ships. The large trees were colossal, with around a hundred branches each as animals swarmed the wood to get to their dens. The Kleeque ship had been there for at least a day now, the crew either lounging around looking at the ship's exterior for damage or places for improvement. The many cannons and 4 turrets along its hull looked fresh and polished. The Hull, looked only partly done with shining silver in places easy to reach, but still a dull grey in others. The "Boss", referred to by the piolets and some of the other crew, had told them to keep it up to par until the task she had was complete. It was easier than setting up what was needed away from the ship for those to arrive.

The orange skinned Togruta took a sip from a glass bottle, relishing at the cool task of it. The scanners on board suddenly pinged as it detected incoming objects towards their position. Multiple of the crew looked in all direction, both at the sky, and the mass of terrain before them. With a small tap and mumbled word spoken into a headset commlink, Narsire looked at those who followed the signal, knowing that this was going to be interesting. Setting the drink down, she remained sitting, hoping not to have to exerted herself in moving from a rather comfortable position.

His eyes burning brighter than the orange sunset before him, Ravenous propped himself atop a rocky ledge his gaze locked on the small encampment below. So it seemed Ravenous arrived at the source of the strange coordinates that suddenly opened themselves in his datapad...and what he found was pleasing to the eye. One could only speculate what this group of vagabonds was doing here but in all honesty, it didn't matter, Ravenous would kill them either way. Not out of spite. Not out of hatred or lust, but out of instinct and out of fulfillment in his chosen lifestyle.

The only difference between a hunter and its prey isn't survival nor strength or aggression. Its depravity. It's having a vision. It's having a goal beyond yourself and beyond your means. It's having the will to fight for your goal and the degeneracy to kill for it too. If you don't fight you don't matter and when the world tallies the score your name won't even be a footnote. Ravenous stuck his hand out trying to strike at the Force around him but to no avail. After all his atrocities the Force has learned to fear him and the restlessness within him. That hunger, that rage all the qualities of a starved soul and a starved soul he was. Starved on love. Starved on joy. And starved on his own humanity. In the end, the primary motive driving a hunter is fear and it's that fear that turns to hunger.

Ravenous stood up and dusted off his cloak as he adjusted his bone mold mask. He took a short glance down the cliffside before digging his Lightsaber into it creating a long cavity in the cliffside as he slid towards the bottom the ground growing larger by the second. Ravenous planted his feet with a loud thud sending the forest itself into a frenzy as a flock of birds darted into the sky. There was no time to take in the scenery, there was life to be ravaged and sins to be committed.

Ravenous began trudging towards the small encampment before him his hands locked at his sides as light flooded the clearing. "What's good? I am Ravenous. Master of villainy, the paragon of the Dark Arts and hunter of hot chicks."

The beat down slaver ship hovered above the coordinates. It bore no identifiers or insignia. Though the carbon scoring all over as well as mis matched durasteel panels holding it together gave credence to teh durability and determination of the little ship that could.

Finding there to be plenty of space to land, the slave ship descends into the clearing, off to one side. AS the ship lowered towards the ground, the surge of the Dark Side began to spread out from the source on board the ship. For those who could sense such things, it was chaos, yet there was a hint of control.

The hydraulics on the landing ramp hissed and groaned as the ramp lowered. Black boots echoed faintly off the cold hard flooring. A thick black cloak with red threading was pulled over the descending figure. Hands folded inside the cloak, the figure stepped off the ramp and turned towards Ravenous and Jayda Vanator Jayda Vanator . Her head tipped to one side, catching the tail end of Ravenous introduction.

She lowered her hood, her visage clear now. She was a lithe, Lethan Twi'Lek. Her eyes were black rimmed in fiery red. Her skin the color of crimson, decorated with black Sith tattoos. She gave the duo a slight nod.

Compared to Ravenous, my introduction is rather bland and lacking of style. I am Maestus.

Narsire watched as the two ships landed, and both occupants exited. Standing up after their introductions, she smiled welcomingly. "Well, given how you two are the only ones that turned up, we'll start," She said, signaling another crew member forward. He was human and fairly young, most likely hired help as a piolet. He set down a case like box before the two arrivals. "You'll find what is necessary inside this case," Narsire explained as the piolet left back to examine the ship. "The reason the signal was sent out, was to offer a challenge to those strong enough to handle it. All you need to do, is examine the enclosed data pad and place the corresponding tracking bracelet on your wrist, then head into the woods to the new set of coordinates until you see a device we set up there." Narsire explained as she held up two similar devices from her belt. "The terms of the 'Challenge' will be explained there. We'll be waiting here for you lot to finish the task, and to watch over your ships. There are a few nasty creatures in the area that tend to see the ships as others on their territory."

Once the two had the gear in their possession and the bracelet on, Narsire tapped a button on her data pad, giving the coordinates to the two arrivals. "You'll find a message from our boss upon your arrival. Just so you know," Narsire said, waving the two off, "You'll be having to deal with more than the local predators." With that, she walked back into the transport ship, and vanished out of sight. It was true that Jayda, their ship's leader and the one who wanted this all set up, was not at the ship, but rather somewhere else on the planet. Hidden, out of sight from most who would even try to sense her. This was going exactly how she planned.

Ravenous stood idly as a shuttle came into view its metal exterior and blazing engines an omen for the darkness that traveled within. The ship touched down in the clearing its docking ramp lowering with a low humming sound as a cloaked figure exited from inside. Her ruby skin complimented her golden pupils as she lowered her hood and introduced herself to Ravenous and this Liason. She has darkness within her, not all-consuming but definitely corrupting at least from a morality standpoint. Then she described her first impression as bland. "Yes because quite literally landing a ship in the middle of a conversation is a bland introduction."

It was then the Togruta from before brought over a case and showed the pair what was inside.
"The reason the signal was sent out, was to offer a challenge to those strong enough to handle it. All you need to do, is examine the enclosed datapad and place the corresponding tracking bracelet on your wrist, then head into the woods to the new set of coordinates until you see a device we set up there." "So your Captain is out for blood eh? Seems fine by me, just know that your captain's bloodlust has just saved your life." Ravenous reached into the case and looked over the datapad as he clipped his tracker to his wrist.

Suddenly a string of numbers cropped up on the pad...
coordinates. Ravenous took a moment to access the situation going over everything he's just learned. There's no telling how long these people have been here which also means I have no idea how well their Captain knows the landscape. Actually, for all, I know they've set up traps for me and my red friend here! Okay, I''ll follow the rules of the challenge but I'll fight the captain on my own terms, not theirs.

"You'll be having to deal with more than the local predators." "I'm the only predator you need to worry about." With that said and done Ravenous began his trek through the forest following his set of coordinates until he saw the aforementioned device. He hadn't the slightest clue what he was looking for exactly and he had no idea what the rules of this challenge would be but what he was certain of was that whatever this captain of theirs had planned won't be enough to kill him.

(So sorry! I completely lost this thread, Im sorry for the delay Jayda Vanator Jayda Vanator Ravenous )

Maestus listened to the instructions carefully. Warily, she took one of the tracking bracelets, holding it in her hand. Once Ravenous had finished his study of the datapad, Maestus took a turn. She studied the coordinates, then looked in the direction they indicated.

Off she went. Fortune and Glory, Doctor Jones...

With both the two warriors walking away from the ship, Narsire gave a chuckle at what the man said. When they disappeared out of sight, she opened a secure link to the awaiting person. "They're on their way. E,T,A, 15 minutes," Narsire said, following the instructions on how to alert Jayda to the approaching individuals. A single beep came across it, causing Narsire to smile. It was quick, but she new what it meant.

The Forest grew denser for a but, the clearing where the two warriors had landed their ship long behind them. Eventually, the two of them came across a large clearing. Some small hills rose and fell through the large space. A single metal device sat in the middle of the clearing, no cover in sight. It was a projection emitter of some kind. A decently sized scanner was placed beside it, a message on it appearing as the two approached. 'Present weapons.' The scanner moved into action as the message appeared, revealing a metal plate with a scanner over it.

The large foreboding trees kept moving in the uneasy wind that blasted through the forest. Sitting along one of the top, stronger branches, was a warrior of white armour and black cloak. The thick foliage kept her out of sight, her breathing steady. She awaited for the right moment, before pressing a button, starting up the projection device to play her "Message".

The crunching of leaves naming his approach Ravenous nonchalantly strode through Selvaris' many great forests a sense of impending danger weighing on his armored shoulders. He certainly took his sweet time about things after all if this was a combat challenge it seemed smarter to conserve his strength rather than to go sprinting madly through a world he knew nothing about. Ravenous found his mind lingering on the set of coordinates he was given and where they might lead exactly. He figured this "Hunter" would try to play to their strengths as much as possible and would most likely lead them to an area where they have the advantage. Depending on where they end up will help Ravenous analyze the situation and in turn his adversary whether they are aware of this or not.

Ravenous turned his head toward his crimson friend a sinister smile forming under his mask. "So, Miss Maestus Maestus what do you think we'll run into? Those misfits really hyped up their captain so I'm expecting a good bout." The Dark Jedi popped his knuckles the sound rather satisfying to him. "You look pretty strong but I won't be convinced until I've seen you in action so try to put on a good show eh?" It was a wonder just how she'd react to his comment, women in black robes don't tend to like being underestimated (actually they don't tend to like Ravenous in general but that's beside the point.)

Ravenous moved a strong thicket out of his path searing sunlight immediately filtering through the leaves as the cloaked man stepped into a large clearing with nothing but grass and the occasional flower lining the ground. The trees resumed their growth on the other side of the field their folly forming a circle around the large clearing. The sun was slipping under the horizon now painting the sky in an orange-pink hue as a gentle breeze wafted through the field. There was a small metal box in the middle of the field its jet black color starkly contrasting with the rest of the field.

"The captain intends to stalk us it seems." Ravenous pointed to the trees lining the range. "If we can see the clearing from here imagine what someone from up high could see. It could be an ambush which means we have to be ready to be attacked." Ravenous gestured toward the field the golden glow in his eyes fading. "Your such a fine beauty Maestus! It would be ungentlemanly of me to go before a lady such as yourself! Please...I insist!"

She moved with Ravenous through the forest. Her steps light, yet not entirely silent. Branches snapped and leaves rustled as she passed by. On occasion, she would glance at the sky, gauging time of day and approximate direction they were going.

Spying the black box, she scanned the area carefully. She, too, had a funny feeling in her gut. Couple with the fact that she trusted no one. She turned towards Ravenous briefly.

It's hard to tell what's in store. Our host is rather...Vague.

She rolled her eyes at his flattery.

Save it. I have a feeling we're going to need our wits.

She turned back towards the black box, and made her way towards it.
