The Hunt for the Black Dawn (The Bothan Spynet)

OOC:
Mission: The Hunt for The Black Dawn.
Difficulty: Easy
Location: Rishi
Description: A pirate gang by the name of the Black Dawn has shut down all passage to and from Rishi, with a military-grade heavy gunship equipped with EMPION bombs. The CIS has asked for said vehicle to be removed from the picture. Find out as much as you can on it and the group, and then destroy the ship and bring in an EMPION device to Prototype Lab Q.

Hyperspace: Heading to Rishi
Time until arrival: Fifteen minutes

Strask sat in the cockpit of his X-57, running over the assighment. Hunt them down, destroy the ship, retrieve a EMPION device. Straightforward. But this wasn't as easy as it seemed. The Net needed to find it, but to do that, they needed to get around the device.

The other agent, @[member="Hunter Cain"], was behind him. That way, if one of them was hit, the other could pull them out.

Ahra sat in the Kindled Comet's lounge, charging. This mission would be interesting. The entire point was to retrieve an EMP bomb - something that didn't go over well with the droid. The computer chimed. "Twenty minutes to hyperspace exit. Destination: Rishi system." Ahra stood. Hopefully the five minutes would buy him the time to survive.
He walked slowly to the cockpit and sat. His system alerted him that Gregor was in the process of logging on. The droid brain began to shut down.

Hunter Cain sat in the small cocokpit of the X-57 with his datapad in hand as he went over the details of the mission. He had just recently joined the Net, in fact, this was his first mission with them. The schematics of the EMPION bomb were what drew his attention at the moment. He was going over how to disarm the bomb if the need be.

He wore a vac suit. All he needed to do was to put on the helmet and seal it and he would be ready to be in the vacuum of space. Now, they just needed to find the device without it finding them first.

Still En-route to Rishi
Ten minutes until arrival

Strask checked his instruments again before raising @[member="Ahra Marcon"] on the comm. "Ahra, how far behind are you? It should hit us soon. Reports are saying five minutes out. They'll be there quick after." He sighed, re-scanning the panel to see if anything went wrong. Nothing. Turning back to @[member="Hunter Cain"], he asked "You ready?"

Hunter looked up from his datapad when Strask addressed him. He gave a simple nod then placed his datapad in his pack that was on the floorboard between his legs.
He was as ready as he was going to be....

Ahra checked his console. Fifteen minutes. "Right behind you, sir," he lied. With any luck, his separation would let the bomb hit their ship and not his. "ETA is ten, and I've got you on scanners." Someone would need to watch their backs when the thing went off.

Hyperspace, Five Minutes From Rishi
Finally, The Bomb

Strask looked at the panel as they hit the five minute mark, and sure enough, a warning came up. MASS SHADOW DETECTED. LEAVING HYPERSPACE. "Here we go." He called over his shoulder, and slid the space suit on as the ship emerged. "Ahra, we're out of hyperspace. Confirm." And then the EMP hit. The line was dead.
Strask ran a quick diagnosis. Life support was still online, but everything else was dead. "Hunter, how you doing?" Hopefully, the equipment survived the blast. If not, they were in serious trouble.

The ship shuddered as it was pulled out of hyperspace. And then moments later the EMP hit.

Hunter check the gear to make sure everything was in working oreder, which it fortunately was.
"I'm fine, and the equipment is fine. Orders?" @[member="Strask Ak'lya"]

The comm cut out before Ahra could reply. Well, that's that. He looked at the console. Three minutes. The droid brain shut down entirely as Gregor took over. Thirty seconds later he was up to speed. All right, time to steal a bomb. Now for the longest two minutes of the day.
