And woe to our enemies.

The maze of who holds what power in Vong society can be too much to bare at times - despite this the military command structure remains simple and streamlined.

The command structure is based solely on that of The Warrior Caste and there are no distinctions in ranks between ground and naval forces - there is no need for a complex system of ranks as most battle coordination is handled by Yammosks.

The structure that does exist, exists only to maintain order among the ranks and display who among the warriors is closer to the gods. As such, the structure is composed of a four-tier system - not including the Priests, Warmaster or the Zealots.

Basic Command Tiers

The lowest rank of the hierarchy and the most numerous - making up approximately 2/3 of the caste. Warriors are your basic infantry and sailors and hold no power.

This is the only tier accessible to Slaves and Repentant within the Warrior Caste.

Chosen are officers and are mainly tasked with upholding the honor of the battle by punishing cowards, pushing slaves forward and leading packs of war beasts.

In fleets, they may lead squads of coral skippers or maintain the discipline of the crew aboard Yuuzhan Vong ships.

Battle Seers coordinate battles on a higher level, ensuring that certain goals are met during each phase of an invasion. They are the closest equivalent to a colonel or a captain in standard military ranking - but generally, have much more autonomy in their actions than the former.

They command swarms of corral skipper, stand at the head of Yuuzhan Vong ships, or lead hundreds of Warriors into battle.

Field Marshals by all rights, High Ascendants are the highest ranking Yuuzhan Vong in most battles. They lead Yuuzhan Vong fleets and ground forces, commanding terror on both the ground and the in space.

Priests lie outside the standard command structure - acting more as guidance than much else. However, the unspoken rule is that any priest who engages in battle has at least the authority of a Chosen.

However, the amount of sway they hold over a battle is ultimately decided by the highest ranking Warrior Caste Vong present. A priests telling of omens and communication with the gods could give them the voice of an Ascendant or as low a voice as a warrior dependent on the commander and the situation.

Zealots are members of any caste, chosen by The Supreme Overlord to complete missions of sacred importance. The position may be as temporary or permanent as the Supreme Overlord wishes.

Each Zealot may be appointed to;

Lead Holy Crusades - Military Campaigns of sacred importance, such as taking holy lands or reclaiming important relics.

Retrieve Holy Artifacts - Such as ancient Vong technology

Conduct Holy Missions Behind Enemy lines or on active battlefields

The Zealots have no authority to command troops they are not specifically given but are not obligated nor expected to follow any orders aside from The Supreme Overlord's.

The Warmaster is the ultimate military authority, commanding all who step foot on a battlefield - except for those of the Holy Order of Zealots or the Atonment of Arbiters.

They plan grand strategies, wield all fleets and command utmost respect from all. The only ones who outweigh the Warmaster's commands are the Supreme Overlord's or those he appoints to be his voice.
