The Grease Monkeys' Sis [Krius]

He was talking, but she could barely hear what was being said. When the shot was fired, however, to pinpoint what was being said, Jyn all but leaped from her skin and turned as pale as a ghost. Already having been trembling, now her body shook uncontrollably and when she turned her gaze to the weapon she noted it was too far for her to reach it without being stopped.

"You... Killed him."

The words were dull, yet there was a very subtle fiery intone somewhere around the middle that promised malice.

"Murdered him..."

She didn't care what he said of the weapon, it was far more humane than what he had just done. Besides, she would never have used it for things like that!

Now he was attempting to grab her attention, but Jyn did not know if she could look at him. She felt sick to her bones, and wondered what would happen now. What would happen next. She wanted him gone. She needed him gone. But she had no slugthrower, it was so far...

And then he added insult to injury.

"The Force is not a thing to be celebrated!" She finally yelled at him, "Get that into your thick skull! You're a madman, you're a psychopath!" A she spoke the tension within her began to rise and threatened to bubble over. She shook even more so, adrenalin finally kicking in. The tears which ran down her cheeks felt as though they were burning, and her gaze became narrowed and direct.

Without warning, in an act which surprised Jyn as much as it could have done anyone else, Jyns anger and frustration manifested itself outwardly; all of the grief she felt, not just at losing Fuz but everything else: her home, her family, her Master... It bundled together within her core and propelled itself outward.

The result was an ear-splitting scream of anguish. And what was worse, it naturally fueled Jyn all the more through her empathic abilities. The ground around them was torn up, the fragile undergrowth and water being flung aside as if it had been a thin rug lining the ground. The trunk of a thick, sturdy tree broke apart and began to uproot itself, leaves rustling and falling in a sudden cascade.

The noise itself was incoherent, no word had been uttered, merely pure emotion... And it lasted far longer than it ought to have.

But when it did finally finish Jyn hunched over. Her head was throbbing like nothing else, pain spreading through her as if she had ran for miles on end without respite. She gasped for air, sucking it in hungrily as her lungs strained and ached under the task. Her body shuddered, and she found that she could not lift her head to fully assess the damage. Disoriented and confused, the small girl had no idea what she had just done.

All she knew was that she felt empty and hollow, her body was numb and her mind devoid of thought.

She was little more than a husk.

Fingering his fresh stitching, Krius waited. Her words were empty but it would manifest into something, give it time. If he had to rub her face in the monkey's charred entrails, he would.

And there, like a high-pitched whine in the front of his head, Krius felt the pull of the Force that was coming from Jyn. He looked up and leaned forward, as if readying himself.

"Not him...it. I killed it. Come on...come on...”

He whispered to himself but she would hear as the Force wrapped itself around him, pulling everything towards her as if she was literally draining the Force from the surrounding life, including Krius, who started to nod as the tremor became more unstable.

”Come ON...”

And Jyn let forth a blast of Force energy so violent, untamed and raw it pushed Krius back and eventually knocked him off his feet, sending him rolling across the woodland path as gravel, bark and water spat up around them both as if s Force bomb had detonated from Jyn's piercing cry. It didn't last long, but it lasted long enough to make an impact.

Sighing as he was winded, but chuckling to himself as he rolled over, Krius noted his wound was seeping blood, the Force had helped rip open the stitching. But that didn't matter, Jyn had done it. He crawled onto his hands and knees, laughing to himself and soon onto feet, scrambling to the trembling girl as he moved over uprooted rocks and split tree trunks. Leaves and dew fell from above as the Force settled around them.

”Well, Jyn, if that's not worth celebrating what the hell is?!”

He didn't even bother with the dull ringing in his ears and throbbing temples from the burst of energy. This was too exciting. He stooped down and lifted her up by both arms, hands gripping tight under her armpits and he brought their faces together.

”Let's see what else the little fleabag can unlock in you, hm?”

And with that he closed his eyes and poured the Force straight form his grasp straight into her open mind like a knife penetrating soft flesh. Images of the Sith, of the monkey, of her broken family and Masters scolding her, training her, abandoning her.

”I can see why you want to die...your life paints a picture that all points to one big failure. YOU.”

Krius bit his bottom lip as he ravaged her mind with the Force, until he snapped open his eyes and placed his hand over her face and started to push her back into the broken tree, bark digging into her back and her cheek.

”I'm going to enjoy killing you and getting rid of a little karker who gives the Force a bad name. I'm fed up...of your kind....thinking the galaxy has to come and make it all better for you!”

Come on... fight back... unleash it...

Discomfort spread through her as her aching body was lifted up from its hunched position. She grimaced and squirmed yet the fight was mostly gone; she was numb, and the little bit of fire which remained was doing its best to reignite.

The growl which left Jyn upon her mind being penetrated and her history unraveled was low and dangerous. Her mind and thoughts were her sanctuary, and almost immediately she began to push back against him, trying to keep it guarded as Tirdarius had once tried to teach her to do. Being the Empath that she was, a weak mind was extremely dangerous. Yet he saw enough all the same, for compared to that of a Epicanthix, Jyn's mind was weak.

But Krius was wrong.

Jyn did not wish to die. She felt the urge to live stronger than she ever had done before. No more living for everyone else, no more living up to expectations. She was free from it all, and now the only Master she had or needed was herself.

The ache of her loss remained within her, yet somehow the tears stopped and the girl simply stared at him. There was nothing to celebrate, no grand achievement had been met, simply a revelation within herself. Personal, private, locked away and guarded like nothing else.

Suddenly she was being pushed back, pressed into the rough tree which had been left scarred by her scream. And Krius once again proved why the Force was a dangerous tool in the wrong hands. He was mad with pride for his abilities, he loathed her unwillingness much like she figured he would loathe anyone who was not sensitive - the way the Sith had.

The hand over her face left her feeling suffocated and the child closed her eyes tight and tried to focus on breathing. Yet within her a sharp tug of claustrophobia closed in over her and a panic rose. It twisted onwards through her until she felt as though her head was spinning once again.

"Get off me" she said, with an extremely low tone of voice, the words spoken slowly as opposed to panicked - vastly miscommunicating her internal struggle. Yet he didn't, he wouldn't, and Jyn realised that she would die if she did not do something.

But she was weak in the Force, untrained, she knew so little... There was no way that she could clear her mind and focus enough to disappear, and besides he was already touching her so the illusion would break instantaneously... No, there had to be something... Something more that she could draw upon.

The Force bubbled up within her, longing to be released, yet she felt at a loss. There was nothing she could think of...

And yet, maybe that was the problem. She was thinking too much. She had to do something, act not think, if she was going to survive.

Without any sort of consideration, she finally gave in to the pull of the Force and immersed herself into it. And the Force responded immediately, taking over like Jyn had just pressed auto-pilot.

An invisible force spread forth from the girl, pressure applying against the wound at his chest, concentrated to that specific area, twisting and pushing against the stitching in a painful twist of fate. Strength filled her in unison, and she began to physically push back against his grasp; the void was beginning to fill, and Jyn felt liberation like no other in the form of mental and physical respite as the Force became one with her for however short a period of time.

Hopefully, it would prove to be enough...

The girl who had done this to him before flashed in his mind; a face he would never forget - Matsu Xiangu, the one who had stabbed him in the back and tried to kill him. On Skye, it was just like Jyn faced now; death, a force from Krius pushing hard into her to make death as painful as possible, but also as lingering so they wouldn't forget his face or his name in the final moments. The lesson was that if you questioned authority, it would strike back harder than you expected.

But, yet death wasn't what he wanted for Jyn. This was the start of something unstable for her to walk on, and already he felt pleased he had simply unsettled the balance of her life by taking the monkey away from her. He never saw results first hand from his handy work, but the galaxy did, and Krius just sat back as the chaos unfolded.

He was an agent of chaos.

And then he felt the draw of the Force from the girl as the bark dug into her skin, desperate to pierce the flesh. As he prepared himself, the pain of the stitching started to swell as it was gradually pulled apart. Krius gritted his teeth and squirmed as he pushed, but the pain soon ripped into him and he let go of her, gasping and clutching at the open cut.

A sharp hiss escaped his lips and he placed his palm over the bleeding wound and summoned the Force around him in the wood to enhance the clotting of the blood; the life essence that made the Force his tool. The blood was dirty as it clotted and the flesh wrapped around itself, but it looked unkempt after having the makeshift stitching pulled open.

"Well. That hurt, Jyn. Just think what you could have done if you really knew what you were doing. The fuzzball wouldn't have died for nothing then, would he?”

He pushed his hand on the wound, stepped over to her frame leaning on the trunk and reached over and dragged his blooded palm across her face.

"You think you've felt pain? You've felt nothing yet.”

In one swift motion, he wrapped his blooded hand around her throat and pulled her down to the floor and straddled her, not squeezing her throat but simply holding her down so any resistance would be met with a sharp push back.

"I knew your sister, y'know. What was her name - Kara? Kyra? Spirited little family, the Sols. It was a while ago, but I remember she was just as annoying as you.”

To anyone else, it would look sexually motivated with him on top of her - to Krius, it was simply a lesson in obedience.

"So, Jyn, you little brat, what do you want to do with your life? Want to come with me and toughen up, or stay here lost and alone with a chip on your shoulder about the flea monkey?”

The warm flush of blood, sticky against her skin, trickled down her cheek as the splintered bark found its place within her flesh. A whimpered gasp of pain escaped the lips of the child, yet at the same time the sensation further fueled her assault on his person. Oh how the Sith would be proud had they known that their little theory was true... And yet, how disgusted Jyn felt for manipulating her empathic abilities in such a sinister manner. More and more she pushed against his wound, the telekinetic assault digging deeper into him until finally there came a respite on both ends.

When he pulled back and released her, Jyn immediately restrained the Force she had unleashed and fell back with a gasp. Crimson stained almost the entirety of the left hand side of her face, oozing from her temples and her cheek. Reaching up, she wiped at it with the back of her hand before staring down at it. Her stomach turned and a dizzying sensation set in. Yet the respite she felt was so brief, for words pierced the air before the clunk of feet against soil drifted ever closer.

Refusing to respond to him, not wanting to give him the satisfaction of what he had so wrongly achieved, she kept her gaze down. However, the instant that his bloodied palm swiped across the other side of her face, coating it too with the crimson elixir of life, the child grimaced and was made to stare up at him. Pushed back and held against the ground, Jyn could do nothing save listen as he ridiculed not only her but her family too, the sister she had met just once. The pressure at her throat was loose, yet she knew better than to test it too much.

Yet what he said next was a surprise to her. Did he really think that she would join him? She stared at him as if he had gone half mad before her, before sending a sudden jolt through the Force which was directed at his torso. "I'd rather stay here and rot than go anywhere with you" she hissed through gritted teeth, doing her best to move away despite the likelihood that she remained trapped in place.

Krius recoiled slightly from an unknown pressure hitting him square in the torso, drawing a low groan from him that turned into a half-mocking laugh – that hurt, and she knew where the wound was hurting most.

"Ok you’re getting cheeky now. My turn.”

He leant forward and applied the easiest and most effective form of torture he could; wrapping the Force around her throat muscles and contracting them ever so slightly. The way to choke a person through the Force was something most could do with the blink of an eye, but it was a nasty and effective method of pushing a person to the brink of death.

Kruis would be in control, just where he liked to be.

"I just want to see you experience death slowly, unlike your monkey friend who had it good.”

Every few seconds, he contracted the muscles tighter that were dancing to his Force manipulation.

"Let me see that look in your eyes, Jyn, the look where everything comes up from your soul and you see what a pathetic life you’ve had, the mistakes you’ve made, the pain you felt. Feed it to me.”

His wound ached and he felt the cool trickle of blood down his bare abdomen, but the thrill of the conquest was far more important. His dark eyes narrowed as he gazed at her, trying to drill into her psyche.

"Join me Jyn, and let me help you end the pain you feel.”

The muscle spasms in her throat are stronger, and he felt the swell of panic starting to seep from her aura.

Jyn had never experienced any form of Force-based assault on her person before.

The sensation of having invisible hands around her throat was painful, yet it was even more horrifying when she realised that she could not simply pry away at his fingers to gain some sort of respite.

To begin with the pain was the only thing she felt, the only result of what he was doing, but that did not last. Slowly but surely, as the oxygen was cut off and her throat was all but crushed, she dropped into a hysterical state of mind which proved just as effective as the physical assault. Her hands reached out, grasping at thin air as if it might help. All it did was use up precious energy and in turn an increased amount of oxygen which was in truth becoming extremely scarce.

Her eyes were wide and bloodshot, her neck and face numbing as both became severely deprived. Then her lungs ached, trying to drag oxygen from nowhere... Every organ in her body was working overtime, and all Jyn wanted to do was find a true respite. Her eyes closed, despite the agony, and a whimper broke free from her lips. Thus, unintentionally she denied him what he sought, even when he held her life within his hands.

The panic remained, her body and mind in unison, but she had not the strength to keep her eyes open...

After all, Jyn was just a child.

And as her eyes started to go, Krius bit his lip and severed his connection with the Force to allow her muscles and instinctively open up in her throat – the rush of air free for her lungs once more. He pushed down on the ground and rolled of her, turning to look at her on the floor.

"No fight in you – just a pathetic CHILD!”

He lashed out with his right foot and kicked her in the stomach, her body convulsing around his foot as it landed on her.

And he did it again – two kicks, with nothing but venom behind them.

"I had everything at one time you know Jyn, and it was taken away from me and now I’m here with you on a planet I don’t know of, bleeding with hardly any possessions!”

He reached out with his fists and curled them tight, snapping a tree trunk across the stream that Jyn had previously uprooted with a shower of brown bark and soil coming down. There was a tremor in the Force, he was sitting on an awful lot of rage that wasn’t coming out, but now she was pushing the buttons causing it to crack.

Without warning, air rushed back into her system. A hum rang through her ears that blotted out much of what was being said; she sucked in the dank air as if it was fresh and crisp, hungrily craving more. Pain racked her body as one and then two kicks landed against her chest - yet surprisingly the gasps they brought about aided in the restoration of oxygen to her system, whereas it might otherwise have winded her further.

Tears had begun to stream down her cheeks at the bittersweet respite she had been given, and naturally the girl curled into the fetal position on the ground. Her body was trembling, aching as much as it had been when under the grasp of the Force. Finally his words were heard by the girl, who bitterly could not help but think he was taking out his own inadequacies on her. Typical power hungry Force User!

Lifting up a hand the girl wiped some blood from her nose, which had begun bleeding sometime during the choke. Adrenalin had kicked in the moment she could breathe again, her body overcompensating and attempting to reclaim as much oxygen as possible. Thus what she did next was entirely lacking thought.

"You're a coward" she muttered, her breath ragged, "I mean, look at you... Does hurting children make you feel strong?" Beginning to cough, she rolled out of his reach and pressed her back up against a stone. Every word she said was breathless and practically whispered, yet there was a certain vehement undertone. "So you lost shit, so what? Everyone loses!"

Running a hand up through her hair, she shook her head.

"Didn't you ever stop to think that by ending up with nothing you're free to carve your own path? Yet instead... Look at you! You're pathetic. You're moping over your losses like a child!" Even Jyn had come to realise that would get her nowhere, even Jyn had managed to switch her attitude from personal despair to something constructive! And she wasn't even deemed an adult yet.

Let his reaction come, she had realised by now that he wouldn't kill her. He'd have done so already.
