The granting of Amnesty

p1020647.jpg
(Just imagine this room with no light except two beams of light directed at you and me)
The man was brought into the room, escorted by two Imperial troopers, and directed to kneel or sit down close to what seemed to be a pad built into the floor to alleviate any pain from kneeling against it. "Stay here." One of the troopers said as they backed up a few steps so that the light barely touched them. On the far side of the room however was seated someone dressed up in voluminous robes that covered most of his body but what was visible however was his mask and hands as the left one rested on the armrest of the chair he sat on. The right however held a datapad.

"Your file is quite the interesting read [member="Ranik Keeran"], your request of absolution even more so as well." He said through his faceless mask, his voice distorted and deeper than it should be. "So tell me in exchange for your absolution from the bounty that has been placed on your head?" He then said as he glanced up from the datapad and towards Ranik.

[member="Darth Erebos"]

Ranik agreed to the Imperial soldiers and their rules, taking a position on the pad, where the light was. From the soldiers commands, he sat down on the pad and looked up to where logically there was a higher power above him, understanding what this place was. As cliche as it was, the Sith were typical in their religious ways, and for this moment, Ranik didn't provoke or mock it. He idled there as the individual spoke, taking a breath as he thought his situation over.

"In exchange, I will do as much work as possible for the amount of bounty placed on my head. For a time, I may agree to do more work, for small rewards of accomplished work. But otherwise, free work for the Sith until my bounty is paid off. I request this since my actions in the past were due to my slave owner, I have no qualms with the Sith."

The mask didn't give anything away as Erebos observed [member="Ranik Keeran"] as he spoke but under his mask a smirk appeared. "Your bounty is quite high though are you sure you wish for such an arrangement?" Erebos then asked as he tapped something into the datapad he held and leaned forwards. "I will put you to the test." He then added to see if Ranik was serious about this proposal.

Ranik took a calming breath. He was obviously a stressed man, not due to the individual here, or the Sith, but of his Master. "I will not be a slave again, and I refuse to die. Whatever it is, I will do it so the Sith no longer hunts me. But understand if I cause issues with someone else who has just as much power of the Sith and they place a bounty on me, I may have to work with them to work it off, and they may have the Sith be a target." He took more breath and looked straight at the figure, as if looking him in the eye. "I am a weapon, holstered by no one, agreeable to few. Just tell me what the test is."

Erebos stood and began to clap a little as he walked forwards. "Since you are so confident I'll tell you. On the world of Dromund Kaas lies a city called Kaas city this city has housed a millenia old sith capital and as such it's secrets should be still be there if you look hard enough. What I want are designs to one of their superweapons, an ancient ship design called The Ascendant Spear, this will be your primary mission it's failure will be overlooked if you can find the plans to either the Black cipher or the Sun Razer those two plans will be your secondary objectives." Erebos said as he stopped half way towards [member="Ranik Keeran"] and seemed to stare him down.

"Failure of all of these will not be looked kindly upon. If you fail any mission I tell you to do to work off your bounty the bounty will increase just as it will decrease if you succeed is that understood?" He then said as he brought his hands up to cross them over his chest. Erebos had seen enough in Ranik's eyes to know that underestimating or looking down on him would be a costly mistake, even though he might not be able to kill him straight off, this man could easily find a work around that problem and sabotage everything Erebos had worked to build for himself.

[member="Darth Erebos"]

Ranik though for a moment, "All of these are on Dromund Kaas? A fetch job? I am no dog, but you've done half the work for me. What should I expect there? Has a new organization taken over the planet?"

"Not that I'm aware of but you should expect several sith spawn and maybe even a Terentatek as the citadel was made on the site of such a kill. I would however not put it past criminal organizations to have taken up residence in the empty city as it provides amble and reasonable space that such types find useful." Erebos then replied as he found the word fetch job annoying at best, insulting at worst. "You are no dog that I understand [member="Ranik Keeran"] but what I've done for you in terms of work is simply tell you on what planet to find those three items, YOU will have to go there and find them as that is all the info I have but rest assured I will provide you with a few items to help you out in this job." With that he snapped his fingers and one of the guards left the room.

The guard returned shortly with an encrypted comlink that was slaved to another one that was in Erebos's possession and four DRK-1 Dark Eye probe droids. "This should help at least."

[member="Darth Erebos"]

Ranik stood to accept the droids and the commlink, immediately putting it on. "By what I meant from you doing most of the work is telling me where the items are. My jobs are usually two stepped: Locate the targets whereabouts, claim the target. I was going to ask if I was going to have to kill your own teammates, but if it's just ordinary criminal organizations, well... I lived in one of the hardest, darkest, and dirtiest ones for the majority of my life. Should I kill their leader as well? I could secure the area for you if later you'd like to visit it, or at the very least, thin the herd, if there's too many. As my report shoukd tell you, underground criminal scum should suggest as my specialty."

Erebos smiled under his mask. "If you do encounter any of them feel free to secure the area and call in a strike team to land at a beacon to further secure the area." He said as he nodded his head towards [member="Ranik Keeran"], he had so few contacts with professionals that having one work for him was a breath of fresh air to him.

[member="Darth Erebos"]

Tweaking the tools and items he was given, he fastened them to himself and nodded to the man. "I will return when I have the items," he said, turning to wait for the soldier to lead him out.

Erebos nodded and gestured for the troopers to guide [member="Ranik Keeran"] out of the room and back to his ship. "I trust you will succeed." Erebos said after Ranik so he could just hear it as he left the room. Now he'd just have to wait until Ranik finished the mission he had given him. Erebos smiled under his mask.

It had taken a little while, but Ranik finally did it... he completed his mission. Battered and bruised, Ranik was exhausted, tired, in pain, and beaten up. The Sith Spawn and the beastly creature truly showed he was rusty, or maybe it was because he never faced anything so fierce. He threatened Darth Erebos' guardsmen that he must see him immediately, showing the device he was sent to find. It didn't matter to him if Erebos was busy, in a meeting, or otherwise. Surely... Erebos would stop what he was doing since he would be obtaining the thing he wanted Ranik to risk his life over for. More than likely a guardsman sped off faster than Ranik could limp, to tell Erebos he had arrived. He was being escorted by two guards as he barged through the doors, "Erebos!" He yelled out, limping painfully to the center of the room until he couldn't walk anymore and falling to his knees. His cybernetic arm was bent and its pretty human-looking crystasteel gone... with pieces embedded in the arm. His Cybernetic legs also bent and stretched, while his eye went to static every so often, but Erebos wouldn't notice that. Other than that, Ranik had cuts and bruises, and his suit was torn. Ranik is an assassin, not a soldier. "Erebos, you better keep your deal, because I have questions, and the thing you wanted!" He panted.

Erebos had been reading over a book he had found in the library in his ship he hadn't read before and was closing the book when [member="Ranik Keeran"] burst into the room. "Well you sure look like hell." He said in an amused tone as he stood up, placing the book on his seat as he walked over to Ranik. Moving his hand to grip over the upper part of his face while he leaned in and spoke. "This is going to hurt like a vornskr bite but you'll thank me later." He said right before he applied the sith spell of dark healing. The spell would heal him but it would cause him pain, immense pain, which the spell itself would feed on to heal him over the course of a few moments.

"There all better now tell me what's so damn important that you shout at me like I'm some common soldier?" He then asked, a slight tinge of annoyance in his voice but other wise he was his usual calm and collected self. He didn't show much interest yet in getting what he had sent Ranik to fetch for him but he was dying of suspense as he had wanted to get his hands on the black chipher to reverse engineer and apply it to the modern age and give the one sith an edge over it's enemies.

Ranik breathed and breathed, a little upset. He wasn't give much information about what might be down there except very vague words. "Those creatures were savage, I swear they wanted to rip my heart out and eat it!" He said as he began yelling in agony. If Erebos didn't notice, the prosthetic arm was in full view and dangling as if not properly connected, or too damaged to be. The sleeve from the suit had also been ripped off. "And there was some massive beast, I don't know if it is still alive but I left it to rot after I shoved my blade in its skull." He was calming down as he looked down, pulling a device out of the coldbox he carried with him, handing it to Darth Erebos. "It was shiny, and looked important, is this it? And also... that massive beast... I didn't even provoke it, but it came at me. Like it knew me, or saw me as a special meal. It was large, red, had to tusks, and a bunch of... organic spines on its back? What was it, and why did it come after me? One last thing... this was near that device. I was too weak to fight, and I thought it looked important. So since I didn't even look for the other items, maybe this will," he cleared his throat from tiredness, "sweeten the deal." He swung around a leather case with a large flap that covered the top. It was very wide, very deep, and very heavy. It handed it to Darth Erebos, inside was a very old and very big book

Erebos took the items and listened to Ranik drivel on and on, though he was only driveling to Erebos because he wanted to get his hands on the device as soon as possible. Once he had it began looking it over [member="Ranik Keeran"] said something interesting and that caused Erebos to look at him. "You faced a terentatek, a beast that prefers to eat force users above everything else. You didn't know you were force sensitive?" He asked as he leaned a little forwards, he had known Ranik was force sensetive but given the mans complete lack of training or awareness to it, it had made the initial distinction difficult.
Once the case, and it's contents, were in Erebos's hands he was extatic and with the force placed both items on the table behind him with gentle care before he looked back at Ranik. "You're cybernetics will have to be repaired or upgraded, my company is capable of that if you so wish so tell me now which you preffer to be done and it shall be done as a reward for such a job well done." Erebos's tone showed he was smiling widely under his mask, this was getting really interesting.

[member="Darth Erebos"]

Ranik sighed as he was stressed, gritting his teeth as his heart was finally calming down as he took in what he was told. "Wait, what? I'm sensitive to the Force?" He pondered... thoughts of myths and rumors of Sith and Jedi popped into his mind, and then he thought... if he was able to do such powers. "Could that be the reason for my skills? How I became accustomed to them so quickly, and even mastering them? Everyone had been saying it was either by luck or... just because I was talented or made for these skills." Ranik was a little confused, and didn't know exactly how to respond or process all of this. But... it had to be one step at time. "Alright... I just need them repaired for now. Were the items more than enough?"

Erebos leaned a little in and looked at [member="Ranik Keeran"] more closely. "Well it might explain it or you are just uniquely suited and talented in those skills." He first said as he then gestured to one trooper to go get a medical repair men for the cybernetics Ranik had. "It is enough and I have only one more mission for you and your bounty will be wiped clean as far as the One sith are concerned. I've been elevated into the position so that I merely have to say the word and it is done, while before when we met it would have taken some doing but I could get it done nonetheless." Erebos then said as he took out a small holoprojector but simply held it in his hand as a repair crew arrived to take Ranik to have his cybernetics repaired. "I will elaborate on your last mission after they see to your cybernetics and Ranik, if you succeed with this one I will grant you a favor or a request of your choosing as long as it's within my power to grant."

[member="Darth Erebos"]

Ranik was already stressed and enraged by the last mission. Given he was trying his hardest not to lash out... But the first time he was free and felt like coming back to the Galaxy, trying to right his wrongs, he was shoved nearly into deaths door again without warning. And now, it seems, he wasn't even finished. But for now, he would keep quiet. "Just give me the information now, I'll do it as soon as I'm repaired, but when we make a contract, don't shove more in after we've signed. Trust is the only thing keeping me here, don't break it." While it could have sounded like a threat, it was just truly a 'if you don't scratch my back, I can't scratch yours' scenario.

Erebos nodded to [member="Ranik Keeran"]. "I wasn't aware that there would be more shoved in as you so put it. However the mission this time is very simple I need the plans for the old Interdictor-class ships, the gravity well projectors on them is vital to what I have planned in the future and once this mission is done you are a free agent in the eyes of the one sith at least." Erebos said as he leaned in to observe Ranik a little better. 'With his skills, he'll go far... I might have need of him in the future as well.' He thought to himself as he made sure to add a gesture that he wouldn't break Ranik's trust, after all he was probably one of the most skilled agent's he had ever come across, loosing his trust would only be a detriment.

[member="Darth Erebos"]

Ranik groaned as he was forced to accept the mission, letting the medical team start taking him away as if he was some infant incapable of tending to himself. "Are you going to give me a location, or am I to investigate on my own?" Ranik had the skills to find answers, even if the answers were long gone. Last known places still kept a hint of the next step. But he wanted to be done with this mission as soon as possible, so any help towards the location of the item Erebos wanted was sure to help.
