Description: A new construction that was built to become Sejong City’s premier destination for designer brands and luxury goods. The Galleria’s retail and services are curated specifically to the fashion-forward shoppers of Seoul. Boasting over 150 specialty boutiques, this space is a strong representation of the best that Seoul has to offer.
The site was developed with a large plaza outside the mall that will eventually connect to other Kingdom Group projects. The structure for the Galleria Mall was designed with clean lines and an abundance of clear glass to give it a sleek and modern feel. Upon entering, guests are greeted by polished stone floors and sophisticated surroundings. The entrance opens up into a large court that branches out into the different areas of the mall. From here, one can easily browse the selection of designer stores or even take the lift to the rooftop garden to relax.
While the retail spaces are generally comprised of exclusive boutiques, there are two large department store complexes. In addition to fashion retailers, the Galleria is pleased to offer the services of a day spa and hair salon for the shopper in need of extra pampering. There are also a couple stores dedicated to upscale home furnishings and decor. The mall does feature a small cafe and a couple of caf shops for a quick bite, but does not have any sort of “food court.” Instead, shoppers will be encouraged to visit the fine dining options in the Galleria Collection.
There is a deliberate flow to the layout; sections of the mall are dedicated to certain offerings -- men’s and women’s fashion apparel, accessories, children's, health & beauty, ect. However, there are other shops sprinkled in for flavor and variety -- some of these shops are temporary and subject to change based on current and future trends observed.
The mall also features an open space near the center of the mall that may be used for events. Kingdom Group plans to hold marketing events here on a fairly regular basis, not only promote their business, but to support the retailers that lease their spaces. These events may range from exclusive shopping nights for VIPs to seasonal fashion shows for the public.
History: The Galleria was one of the first projects completed by Kingdom Group following their move to Seoul. It was their goal to make a memorable start in Sejong City, and they believed that a high-end mall was the perfect way to break into the retail scene. This is also the first phase of a larger vision for the surrounding area. While the shopping mall is called the Galleria, it will also function as a name for their collection of retail, dining, and living establishments. The completion of this phase of the project has certainly marked a turning point for the company, and has fueled their motivation to keep expanding on Seoul.
