The Force of Illusion

Mr. OOC

News They Don't Want Heard
Normally Kamon would have sought to secure passage to his destination by simple sneaking onto the ship when no one was around to see him do so. Unfortunately, that wasn't possible with his current destination. Having been perusing the archives, he'd come across mention of a world that he'd not heard of before, but one that was clearly connected to the Current. Having an active search going on for the Current, he thought that this lead was worth looking into.

As such, he'd secured private passage through the rental of an old, E-wing Starfighter. It wasn't the best of ships, but it would do in a pinch. He'd left Tython behind and had zipped off into hyperspace with an unmatched eagerness. Was he finally close to finding someone that could teach him what he wanted to learn? He wasn't sure, but he knew that they were out there.

When he exited hyperspace, J't'p'tan loomed before him. He flew over it in search of anything, but saw nothing save for some old ruins. He settled the fighter down on the edge of the area surrounding the ruins and popped the hatch. The astromech situated behind him beeped a series of warnings to him, but he didn't pay them much mind. A rental droid in a rental fighter was suspect at best. Either way, he was determined to do what he'd come to do.

Jumping down from the fighter, he walked to the edge of the ruins and looked at them. Whatever had happened to this place felt off to him. He didn't want to set foot within, though. It felt like it would be trespassing. Instead, he sat down on the edge, just outside the ruins and began to meditate.

Order of the White Current
Those of the Order were not keen on visitors.

As it was, as soon as the ship descended into atmosphere, security precautions were taken. After all, the city in itself was not a true ruin; isolation and the magic of illusions woven by the Fallanassi have protected J't'p'tan from outsiders who'd accidentally stumbled by. It had been what had enabled their order to survive the virus, the panic, and the era of darkness that followed.

Scouts who had immersed themselves within the current observed the male as he wandered ever closer, manipulation the very current in order to ensure that not a single hint of what truly lay beyond the illusion they created.

For now, they would wait. Observe. The command by their leader Niloo had been clear; no contact with any offworlder. It was best to not interact with the stranger; for the Order's safety and well being.

This place. There was something about it that made him wonder. Nowhere else on the planet could he pick up any true signs of those that he was looking for. It was, of course, possible that they were gone. This place could have just been the ruins that were rumored to have existed hundreds of years earlier. If it was, which he didn't quite believe that it was just ruins, then he would examine everything and try to discern where they had gone to. Kamon meant them no harm, but of course he knew they wouldn't know that. If they were anywhere nearby, they were hiding very well.

While they watched him, he didn't move. For a long while he sat there meditating. He felt the place around him, examined everything through his senses. There was life on the world; abundant life. There was the residue of life here as well. Something was bugging his mind. It was like an incessant little buzzing at the back of his skull and it was irritating.

Frowning slightly, he opened his eyes and stood from where he was. If they were there, then he was already encroaching on their territory. If they were not there, then it didn't matter if he went further. That being the case, he walked into the ruins of the temple, and didn't stop until he reached the center of the circular area, where the ruins of an obelisk lay. He stood staring at it for a moment and then reached out to touch his hand to it. When he did so, he closed his eyes and allowed the Force to flow through him, into the obelisk, and then to pulse out in gentle, feeling, waves around him.
