GENERAL INFORMATION:
Group Name: The Fanged Covenant
Classification: Force-Sensitive Shock Infantry
Affiliation: Darth Virelia / Fourth Legion
Description:
The Fanged Covenant is a native Sith sect born from the ruined rituals and feral faiths buried beneath Morrigal's crust. Cloaked in crimson dust, wearing jagged leathers and volcanic-scale armor engraved with ancient Sith glyphs, they march as both warriors and zealots. Their faces are masked with expressionless obsidian helms etched with runic scars, symbolizing the death of their former selves.
The unit is led by a Knight-level Sith known only as Vaer'Zul, a pale-robed butcher-mystic from the southern caldera wastes who bent the sect to Virelia's will through ritual combat and blood-binding. The Covenant functions less like a conventional military unit and more like a roaming cult of psychic torment and calculated atrocity—delivering pain and prophecy with equal precision.
UNIT INFORMATION
Unit Size: Small
Unit Availability: Rare
Unit Experience: Veteran
Equipment:
- Sith-forged ritual blades (double as vibroswords)
- Blaster Rifles and Pistols
- Reinforced volcanic armor augmented with pain-channeled alchemy
- Alchemized talismans to resist basic lightsaber strikes and stun rounds
- Personal commlinks laced with privacy wards and encrypted speech-filters
- Pain-spike gauntlets used to enhance adrenaline and channel Force Rage
- Crimson-streaked smoke grenades for ritual concealment and fear tactics
The Fanged Covenant operates as a surgical strike and psychological warfare unit. They are typically deployed ahead of or behind main assaults to sow terror, assassinate enemy command, or provoke spiritual collapse among the weak-willed. Their use of synchronized Force powers—particularly illusions, Fear, and Drain—is designed to unravel morale before physical engagement even begins.
In conventional battles, they engage in overwhelming close-quarters attacks, accompanied by Force-enhanced screams, disorienting illusions, and brutal executions designed to break formations. They thrive in darkness, enclosed terrain, and ash-choked battlefields.
Force Abilities:
- Force Fear
- Force Drain (moderate, group-channeled)
- Force Rage (enhanced through ritual pain techniques)
- Illusions (localized phantasms and disorientation)
- Minor Force Weapon augmentation
- Battle Precognition (limited to Knight leader, Vaer'Zul)
Strengths:
- Fear as a Weapon: Masters of psychological and metaphysical intimidation, their arrival often destabilizes weaker units before contact.
- Coordinated Force Use: Group rituals and synergy techniques allow them to amplify common abilities like Fear, Drain, and Rage.
Weaknesses:
- Limited in Number: Small unit size and difficult recruitment make them irreplaceable. Losses are significant setbacks.
- Ritual Dependency: Their abilities are strongest when prepared; ambushes, surprises, or extended firefights reduce their effectiveness.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Fanged Covenant predates Darth Virelia's rule, but not her influence. Once a fragmented sect of self-mutilating mystics dwelling in Morrigal's ash caverns and tomb-pits, the group once worshipped Sith spirits through esoteric rites. They were fractured, dangerous, and largely ignored—until Virelia arrived.
During the construction of Fort Avarice, Virelia personally descended into the tunnels beneath the Bleeding Library, where she found the Covenant conducting rites of sacrifice and pain-channeling. She offered them not destruction, but purpose: serve her, and spread that pain outward—let the galaxy suffer as they had.
