SPECIAL FEATURES

STRENGTHS
• “Darksiders could inflict pain and injury upon their foes merely by looking at them, causing victims' bodies to burn and smoke as they died. The user of Deadly Sight could damage entire groups of foes within their field of vision.” (source)
• As with lightning and Force Nets, this artifact can damage and kill Force-null beings (e.g. Yuuzhan Vong).
• Can be used by any living being.
• The effect is not visible as any kind of ray, beam, or wave connecting user to target(s). The target(s) simply catch fire.

WEAKNESSES
• For the Eyes of Sariss to damage a target, the target must be a living being (e.g. no droids).
• The effective range is roughly 15-20 metres, quite short.
• To use the artifact, you must smear your own freshly-taken blood across at least one lens of your own free will. Workarounds do not work. Also, this has implications for visibility.
• The Deadly Sight effect lasts roughly seven seconds, after which a new blood sacrifice is required.
• The Deadly Sight effect will injure everyone in your field of view, be they enemy or ally.
• Ysalamiri and void stone not only protect targets from the effect, but make them harder to see clearly.
• There is no way to stop the seven-second burst after it has been initiated, short of jumping in a ysalamir field.

DESCRIPTION
The Eyes of Sariss are named for a Dark Jedi Master who had the ability known as Deadly Sight. This power allowed her to burn up and even disintegrate her enemies. Azel Moran, Sith blacksmith and alchemist, decided to weave this rare power into a handful of lenses - mostly as a thought exercise. While the range and practicality of the finished product left him cold, he grudgingly confessed himself satisfied. The Eyes are immensely practical for swarm control: hordes of drochs, orbalisks, and razor bugs stand little chance.

The Eyes of Sariss are compatible with helmets, goggles, glasses, and so forth. They are generally not suitable for scopes or sights due to the effect’s very limited range. Sadly, there will be no sniper scopes that burn on visual contact - not this time around, anyway.
