The Expansion of the Known (Kiara)

Dagobah

The warm air among the swampland of Dagobah was a surprising comfort for the acolyte. He frowned at his title, a name given to those just being taught in the ways of the force, but he had it for years. He never was a practitioner of the darkside, and the information he found in that lightside holocron was sadly limited to meditations and healing. After visiting the Cult of the Force back on Vinsoth, he had deliberately searched out for a similar feeling of the force in the galaxy, constantly meditating in his shuttle. It had brought him to the planet of Dagobah, with the force energies here being particularly strong. Stronger than the ones on Vinsoth for sure. He hoped it had attracted Jedi and more importantly, Lightside Sith in the past. He hoped they may have left holocrons on the planet. If he was going to protect himself, especially since he lived in a Sith heavy environment with all kinds of darkside practitioners; he was going to need to find more information. He feared going to jedi directly would make him betray his beliefs and loyalty to the Sith Empire, he was born and raised a pilot, the best one out there. He just couldn't think of the prospect of joining the Silver Sanctum or Galactic Republic or Alliance. He certainly felt it would've been an insult to his parents and ancestors before him. As if his defection to the Sith Empire wasn't enough.

It was just he wanted to feel that he could do things without the control of others, yet at the same time show strength and power through loyalty and control of ones emotions. Fear was temporary and passion has its flaws. He needed guidance. That's why he decided it best to meditate on Dagobah, see if any places were particularly strong in the force on the planet. Knowledge was indeed power, so knowledge will be what Edwin will find.

I promise. I love you. The last words faded from Kiara's mind as she cleared the thought. None of it was important now, anyways. There was no reason to fall back on the same cycle again and again only to find that there was nothing ever missing. It simply was and it couldn't be changed. So many things had changed since then. So much history that begged to be unleashed. Too much knowledge for one person to contain for so long without having anyone to show it to. The aging woman stared into the whispering flames of her fire inside of a thick dirt hut, eyeing into the embers that raged with life.
There were times it came back. Times it just died. Kiara scowled at the flames and destroyed them with a single wipe of her hand, a Force gush, then put on new leaves, and new sticks. Come back... The embers struggled, trying to grasp, then they failed. Kiara pressed down onto it, trying to make it come back. But it died. That's how things were. Now the hut was dark, and the air getting cold inside. Perhaps it was about time to leave, and finally do something... Perhaps it was time to die.

It concerned Edwin, unknowing the fauna that lived on the planet. He never particularly knew of the wildlife for most places to begin with. But then again, he never really needed to go far from civilization in the first place. The bogs were certainly a murky place, making it rather difficult for Edwin to see. He carefully waded and crossed through the swampland, trying to find the best place to meditate from. At the same time, Edwin looked around the cloudy swamp, hoping he could see the glow of any abandoned holocron. With no luck, the acolyte continued through the swamps, stopping every moment to take a drink from his bottle. It had annoyed him in the past that people were no longer human once they were force sensitive. Although this was true with some of the... practices Edwin had seen in the past. Plenty of force users still needed the sustenance that any member of their species needed. No matter how monstrously powerful they get. He was like someone who never wielded a blaster before, but now is obsess with the fundamental to become an ace at one.

Edwin relieved a gratifying sigh as he spot a small hill above the water. Strange white spiders were around it, sparking Edwin's caution as he carefully maneuvered around them onto the the hill. He wished he had that thing known as force stealth. Plenty of his masters used it to intimidate him in the past for their own pleasure. But now Edwin could see how such a thing could be so useful. Ever so wary, Edwin began to meditate, feeling the familiar warm of the force run through him, while at the same time, a somewhat soothing song. He opened his eyes to see the Spiders running away as a large beaked bird swooped down, attacking the spiders. With interest Edwin, observed the wildlife engage with each other, not caring who the victor might be.

Old, new. Life, death. Sometimes it didn't matter. Sometimes it did. Who was to tell who, who was important? A sign of power? A strong belief? Kiara used to scoff at anyone who would think otherwise, yet here she was, thinking it didn't matter. She didn't care if anyone was killed. She was alone. Even herself, if killed, would still be alone. No one to turn to, no one to run to and beg. No one to love.
She squinted at the dead rocks once fueling the fire with rage. She was always coming back to that. Love. So strong, so foolish. Corrupts your mind, your judgement. It was a terrible pleasurable curse, and she was still falling for it tens of years after she had been involved. Interrupting from her train of thought, she felt a new presence nearby. Perking up, she slowly stood and began to look in the various cameras around her home in hopes of catching them. Who was here now..?

With disappointment, the critters left, their sounds disappearing with them. It brought Edwin the peace and quiet he sought, the peace needed to think. So why did he yearn to know the outcome? Because he desired an outcome. For something, to know of something. Edwin wasn't one of those people who dismissed others who only wanted to see the end. Edwin could understand, he was part of the One Sith Navy for a time. He had to provide outcomes. There was never room for failure. Yet out here, anything could happen, things weren't simply expected as it came to Edwin's mind.

Shifting his weight, Edwin resumed his meditative trance. Feeling the gentle heat of the force swim around. He was feeling the force, a stronger sense. It was unlike the meditation he done on Dromund Kaas, unlike the meditation on Kuat. He wanted to smile, but felt that the force wouldn't let him. To keep him stationary in its seductive trance. Edwin was feeling more open minded, much more leveled. Open to opinions, to anything if it may provide itself an existence.

He felt bliss.

There was a long silence, almost as if everything decided to shut up around Kiara for a full minute. Danger on her mind and alertness in her eyes, she spun her staff twice in the small enclosed space of her hut and walked to the door with a tall stride. After opening, walking out, and closing the wooden bits that provided shelter, she let her eyes adjust to the dark surroundings that made itself Dagobah. There was obviously someone, something out there, and they kept on bugging her in the corner of her mind.
Without waiting longer, she began to send thick painful strides of darkness from her signature and around her to alert animals and aliens alike that she was unhappy, and gaining a mood that was not common in these parts of the world.

Edwin found himself interrupted again as sudden wails and screams of animal life seemed to burst and fade in an ever continuous sequence through the acolytes ears. He didn't really care about it though, he couldn't feel any sign in the force of anything ancient that might've been here. It could likely just simply be on his part due how weak he was in the force, but he could feel power grow through him. Just from one simple meditation he felt like he could do more.

Climbing down the hill, he took his vibroknife, making a small cut through his arm. Despite trying to be careful, the pain was hard to control. He led out a wail of discomfort throughout the swamp. With concise focus, he began using the force to heal his wound. His teeth were clamped together in a tight manner, tears flooded his eyes as he saw his wound heal. It amazed him how fast it was from before. It caused him to smile for a moment. Perhaps his strength laid in meditation? His thought of progress was soon cut short as he began to feel something horrendous through the force. Could there be a Sith Lord here? It was likely, but not many would simply come here due to the lightside energies that flood this place.

Without a second thought, Edwin began slowly making his way through the swamp. He didn't even have any fear of what he might've found this very moment.
