SPECIAL FEATURES

The most astounding quality of The Ebonblade is that it technically is not made of any real material. Instead it is a physical form of the powers bound within Chaos (specifically the Field of Blades). Physical scans come up inconclusive as if the sword did not exist. Yet individuals can sense the blade's presence, light siders tend to even be disturbed and unnerved by it.

Strengths:

Dark Memory: The sword acts almost as a memory bank, memorizing fighting styles, techniques, moves, and really anything having to do with hand to hand combat. as well as failures and the deaths of its previous owners. This knowledge is often passed to whomever currently possesses the blade for as long as they do. Upon their death, or surrendering of the blade, they lose this knowledge.

Shadow Edge: The blade is supernaturally sharp, able to cut into materials similarly to the capabilities of a light saber, all with relative ease. The blade is also unable to be damaged by light sabers.

Gluttony of Spirits: The Ebonblade is capable of absorbing many types of energy (plasma, electricity, and even any force power attempting to influence it) when it comes into physical contact with it. The more energy it absorbs the hotter the blade becomes only increasing its ability to slice and inflict damage. It does however plateau. At its highest output it is even able to cut through beskar and phrik with strong repeated blows.

Weaknesses:

I have a bad feeling about this: Those aligned with the light side of the force are naturally unnerved by the blade within a 50 meter radius. This is never enough to have a serious effect on their morale, but it certainly gives away the sword's presence.

Primitive Speeds: Unlike a lightsaber, The Ebonblade is rather heavy and thus it isn't as easy to maneuver.

Too Hot Can't Stop: If The Ebonblade becomes too overcharged it can burn the user if not protected properly. It tends to act like an intensely hot metal, similarly to an incredibly heated stove or branding iron.

Dark Visions: The user of the blade is often plagued with nightmares of the sword's previous owner's deaths from the perspective of the dying.

Rival Power: Force nullification fields and force light have the potential to weaken the sword's power, reducing its ability to absorb energy, cut through phrik/beskar, and totally resist lightsaber strikes. In this weakened state it can be broken by lightsabers after several strikes. Yet it has the capability to slowly regrow from the hilt when within a dark force nexus.

  • DESCRIPTION
The Ebonblade is as ancient as The Field of Blades. Some call it the avatar of the fields, a physical incarnation of what they stand for, eternal unending combat where the weak are crushed by the strong who become stronger. Some even claim that the blade is the origin of the field of blades, a great war started over its possession and as time progressed knowledge was lost of it but the war continued, growing and destroying every inch of the Nether it spread to.

What we know for sure is that The Ebonblade fell into the hands of the Daemons within the Daemoni Ignius. It drifted from one powerful daemon to the next in an unending feud for control over the blade and its properties. Flaunting its power, the owners would often head to the Field of Blades to slaughter all in their path. However the last Daemon to own the blade was put to an unceremonious end by Skorov. Skorov had in his possession a leaf of the Thousand-Faced Tree which produced an incredibly powerful poison. All Skorov had to do was turn the leaf into a paste, cover his blade in it, and fight the Daemon. It only took a single knick and then a bit of waiting for the Daemon to lay crumpled at his feet, where he salvaged the blade.

Very cool idea for a sword. Not something I normally see around here. However, there are some things we need to discuss on this sword.

This will have to be your character, and their character sheet linked. In the past this may have been allowed to be left ambiguous, however, with an easy to do editing process through the factory.

This seems a little counter intuitive to me with the wording. You say it does not give off radiation, but then it radiates the area around the blade with what is essentially, An Aura of Uneasiness. My thoughts on this would be that "Physical scanning" or such things as scanners can't detect it, but people, in general, as well as Dark sided, or Lightsided, feel its "presence" with only Lightsiders having a much more negative effect thrust upon them correct?

Is there a cap on how much knowledge can be passed down? While you do mention a bunch of fighting based ideals, you extend the "etc" and so I would like to see you narrow it down a little more. Does it just do "ALL" the knowledge of the previous owner? or only fighting styles, and what you have mentioned? Only battle and dueling tactics?

You mention this has a stopping point. However, that stopping point is literally at pretty much the highest spectrum of what can be produced in armor. While i understand that some lightsabers, such as Exar Kun's, can cut through beskar due to it being over charged, they still take time and quite a bit of force to do so.

Second problem I have with this, is what kind of absorption factor are we dealing with here? Does the blade have to directly make contact with said energy, or does it just naturally absorb ambient energy within the air? Say the wielder is near a powerful force user, or a force nexus. Can the sword just absorb energy by being around them?

How effective is this burning? Is it just like touching a hot stove, or can it be more aggressive? And does this effect increase in potency the more energy absorbed?

I am sorry, I neglected to ask this the first time, but is this sword influenced by the Dark side of the force? I know you mention its ability to hamper Light sided individuals, and that is why I ask. Is this like a Force Dead Relic that has some special stuff, or is it related to the force akin to a Sith Sword?
