The Du Couteau Armor

[Member="Marek Starchaser"]

Here's my thought of how the Armor would look like:

Ludgers_Chromatus_Form.jpg

The Concept of the Armor Design will generally stem greatly the Obsidian Knight standard armor but much lighter and flexible.

And with the Cyberpunk Wars commening Seto isn't fond of replacing body limbs with Cybernetics but is willing to get into a suit of armor and that would provide for some badassery.

Armor plating around both the legs and forearms, protection around the limbs that do the attacking, while keeping much of his body free to move without much/any restraint.

The added pieces on his arms will act as Transformation Material, as in able to detach and reattach virtually anywhere on his body to give him various methods to both attack and defend himself while remaining creative.

So thoughts on how to proceed with this?

Let's get crack-a-lacking, Mr. [member="Seto Du Couteau"]

I really love the concept behind it. The attachments, would that only be armor plates, or would it be able to link in say... a rappelling cable, or flame thrower or dart gun? (I mean that could also be using the Holodriver or Data Logger, some sort of datapad hybrid thing). Or would it be mainly... melee defense and offense? I guess I'm thinking in a way to use the armor to fill any 'blind spots' Seto may have with the Force. I just wanna get a full image of what we're looking at.

In my head I'm going straight to a concept of using a body-glove underlay, probably of something like StarWarsNeoprene (Patent Pending). Draco Vereen gave me a concept of using a resealent foam and thermal gel that would give the armor underlay a temperature regulating ability as well as being able to almost self repair from puncture 'wounds'. But the body glove would have to have like a interlinking ability, magnetic or what not, to seal the plates in place.

Unless I'm off the mark on that one.

Additionally, we'll want to consider what the armor is to be made out of. Cortosis will stop a lightsaber, shut it off, Phrik is a bit lighter. Songsteel is a really light metal. Beskar, that's hard to come by, unless you want to go beat a Mando, but it'll make it really heavy.

The Body Glove with either some sort of ballistic gel or the other gel mention to provide 'some' buffer between the body and the suit. Some comfort I guess, but just enough :3

Also on the subject of Armor Plating movement and such the idea was to use the Force to unlatch micro size latches/magnets all around the body glove to virtually allow the armor plating any placement on the body. Same goes with attachments such as Flame throwers etc. the connecting part will be coated with the same material as the body armor itself to allow Seto to use the Force to interlink everything. Once attached the Force will no longer be needed to hold everything together.

The Armor material would need to be strong enough but also ductile enough to bend and shape enough. So perhaps Phrick or Songsteel and mixed in some Gold (or another very ductile metal) to allow it enough to shape just enough. And perhaps some of the Armor plates be made of all three metals to add diversity with as much as possible.

The Helmet HUD itself will be special as it will give a continuous overlay diplay of Seto's body and the damage sustained/taken and even relay information of armor plates needed to be changed or moved around to allow the most efficient method of attack/defense. (i.e. warn Seto to place a few pieces around a wounded section as to prevent more damage) as the body glove would be filled with micro sensors all around to sense his body.

I wanted imagine Force and Tech smashed into something needed to be in such a concert that mastery of the armor itself would be a feat for the young Du Couteau heir and to even create his own combat method when using this armor to its maximum potential.

Rad. (Going to respond paragraph by paragraph, just to get this thinking in the right direction)

Yeah, the body glove would be more to have the armor itself not sit on the flesh. Think how Stark wore the wet-suit style thing in Iron Man 1, the first time. Give you mobility, keep your heat in, or the other heat out, and provide a layer of base burn/cold/corrosive protection UNDER the armor.

The interlinking through the Force is a GREAT idea. I really like that. Its a cool concept, the one trick with that, is if its seen done in the battlefield, it can and maybe will be exploited against you. I know [member="Dagora-Kel"] is one of our resident Alchemy experts. He's mentioned in the past doing some alchemy to items to make them sort of 'trackable' by the character, but not preventing someone else from TKing it, that will null ALL TK. There may be a way to try to developed something like the Mark 42 (Iron Man 3) armor, where it can be done by voice command, and the armor plates covered in a Force nullification Resin. <--- if you need more explanation, its a nerd heavy paragraph.

That! That is something new. Mixing metals with gold. Yeah, Gold's wicked pliable, for a metal. Ductile, sure, (I'm a water and soil scientist not a metalurgist so my diction is off). The trick is Songsteel and Phrik can't typically be used together as they're both restricted material, and will need to have a development thread. (Info found here http://starwarsrp.net/topic/38111-banned-restricted-items-list/ )

For the helmet, modifying the HUD to do what you want is pretty simple. Chasing down the Wookieepedia I found http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Digital_life_support_system_readout which may be able to be modified for what you’re looking for. Otherwise its like a wireframe of the armor, right? That’s pretty basic, I think even in real world terms?

I’m super excited for the concept, and I’d like to toss Jenn in to help with whatever development you need. If you pick out a metal you prefer (Phrik or Songsteel) I can do my best to help get you your development thread as well.

And that whole combat style, I’m excited to read about that.

As far as the Body Glove I agree with making it with the idea of it as well, the Underarmor in a way. Protection from intense weather, knife restraint, layered with some sort of ballistic gel absorb any and all fall damage/impact damage to a degree. And with extra padding around the more essential parts of the human anatomy.

Now I think diversifying the metals used would be a better option to have. A form of steel to cover the feet and legs and be used as general protection, (or rather actually be used as armor) and have several pieces of phrik and cortosis across the upper body to be able to move around and interlink anywhere. But also with the mindset of having an entire stash of spare "normal" armor pieces that Seto could easily just keep adding unto his "armor" if the times calls for it.

The real issue is indeed the ability of other Force Users simply making my armor fall off during battle, so here the Nulification Resin would either need to be coated on the armor pieces or on the entire body glove to help resist any Force tempering.

Now, I got myself a few threads to think about [member="Marek Starchaser"] . . .

Well, I'm here for the help. Phrik or Songsteel may be the best options, alloyed with durasteel.

The resin thing I'll keep thinking on, seeing what I can come up with.
