Dominion The Deal (No Deal?) | THR Dominion of the Mokk IX Hex

As the High Republic moves to formalize its relationship with the Renascent Heirate and stabilize the wider Mokk IX region, diplomacy, spectacle, and scholarship all become part of the same delicate political dance. Whether at the negotiation table on Mokk IX, in the skies over Adytum, deep within Soteria’s crystal caves, or elsewhere in the area, the future of the region may hinge as much on personal conduct as on the rigors of formal statecraft.

senators - diplomats - nobles - corporatists - Mokk IX representatives
The planet of Mokk IX lies squarely in the path of the High Republic’s expansion, but initial reports suggest that its leadership shows little interest in joining the High Republic’s government. Whatever arrangement is struck here may well become the model for how the High Republic deals with independent powers in the future, so the stakes could hardly be higher for the diplomats in the room to get it right.

Rogue Squadron - Jedi pilots - RAF pilots - risk-seeking nobles willing to sign a waiver
As negotiations for the Renascent Heirate’s entry into the High Republic draw to a close, the Renascent Aerospace Force, in conjunction with the Renascent Navy, has extended the offer to their new colleagues: the chance to attempt the Hesperidean Run. This race through the Hesperidean Belt, named for the rich concentrations of gold and other precious metals in its asteroids, is a proving ground among RAF pilots, designed to test the very best pilots and separate the wheat from the chaff. Using specially-designed RAF fightercraft with reinforced hulls and powerful repulsor shielding, pilots will race through the Belt’s five zones for bragging rights, hard-won honors, and the satisfaction of finishing where many do not.

NOTE: Be sure to familiarize yourself with the rules of the Hesperidean Run. If you have questions, please visit the channel for this objective in the THR Discord! Be sure you've paid your entry fee (10,000 UCs) to this account to be participating in the prize pool.

Jedi - scientists - curious people willing to sign a waiver
A newly opened section of the Soteria crystal caves has revealed a discovery that may upend accepted history in the Adytum System: the remains of an ancient settlement bearing startling similarities to the oldest proto-Jedi traditions on record. Jedi, scholars, and interested parties are invited to descend to the site, secure its most unstable chambers, recover fragile records, and determine what exactly this apparent sanctuary was before damage, scavengers, or other opportunists can strip it bare.

Reima Vitalis stood at the side of the pilot’s ready room aboard the HMV Hyperion, the flagship of the Renascent Fleet, the slender quality of her frame emphasized by the dark navy of her flight suit against the pristine white of the ready room’s white paneling. Her pale features and dark hair were washed out in the blue holographic map of the Hesperidean Belt from the command projector at the front of the room. She’d seen this briefing a dozen times – every time one did the Hesperidean Run, one had to endure it. At this point, dying of boredom was the real risk.

“You will each be piloting a Delta-class Interceptor,” said Group Captain Nathaniel Harker, addressing the pilots gathered in the ready room. “Heavily modified to make it viable in the hazard of the Hesperidean Belt. The weapons, hyperdrive, navigational computer, and other non-essential components have been removed to create space – and weight tolerance – for the increased repulsor shields and reinforced hull and viewports that make flying in the Belt safe. And, of course, the sensor suite package that makes your flight into a useful surveying voyage and not what would otherwise be a wasteful, dangerous, highly impermissible joyride for adrenaline junkies.”

“You will proceed from the Hyperion and enter the Belt here.” He pointed on the map with a laser pointed. “You’ll proceed through the Navy Gate region of the Belt, to this marker buoy.” Another mark on the map. Following the curve of the Belt, this will bring you into the Gilt Scatter. Because of the angle’s relationship with the sun and the asteroids’ composition being made up of precious metals, you may experience flashes of reflected light.”

Harker continued dragging the laser pointer’s dot along the model. “After the next buoy, you’ll be in the Widow’s Thread. Now, we have never lost a pilot here, but the same cannot be said for the occasional pirate raider seeking to haul away one of the gold asteroids. Something about this point in the belt makes things tighten up here. Less safe lanes through. Your ships will protect you, but it may not be pleasant.”

He pointed along the next area. “Here, the Sovereign’s Divide. The outside path – we call it the Crown Passage – is safe, but takes you wider. You trade speed for safety. The Smuggler’s Needle, conversely, is more dangerous, and faster. Either way you choose, you’ll pass the buoy here, into the last section, the Sunfall Sprint. This is the final stretch, and the lanes are typically clearer here. You’ll pass the final buoy here and then proceed back to the Hyperion by traveling over the Belt.”

Harker disabled the laser pointer and folded his hands together behind his back. “Are there any questions? If not, I’ll leave you to prepare and definitely not to engage in any illicit gambling.”
