The Corrupted

Salij Nekt held the cloak close to his body. The Anubian race had been built to survive these conditions. Large and wide sandstorms, the scorching heats that they suffered through. The planet of Ankhypt, a desert planet. A harsh place for living. On this planet, Anubians were held high. Respected. So when Salij offered that it could be their sanctuary, it was a sound plan. Of course, Salij had been gone for some time so the strong winded sand storms would take getting used to.

"Up ahead there is...a city!" he called over. With him was Rowin Taff as well as the Corrupted Lieutenants and any others that Salij and Rowin had made calls to. The small group had come to the planet by freighter, originally owned by smugglers that had been...relieved. "Statues!" he called out again, pointing a slender clawed finger at a half buried statue. "They are border markers! Each city has different, I know this city! Just some more distance to go!"

Rowin had to take the nearest available body when [member="Salij-Nekt"] had killed [member="Rex Taff"] 's body. This one would do but it would take some getting used to. After they had escaped Noverskaa with the Lieutenants who would now protect his body with their lives as well as salji's. He was happy enough even i the sand storm. This was Salji's home world and it was unlikely that any groups would even remotely think of coming here.

He had to admit for all the anubians flaws he was turning out to be of great use. He would just need to teach Salji about how to protect ones mind otherwise his Sith lord and right hand would be used against him again. As they drew closer to a city Rowin looked at the anubian "I hope you know what you are doing, I would rather not be killed again because someone tricked you."

Salij-Nekt let out a slight snarl at the boy upon hearing that. Even if they were his master, [member="Rowin Taff"], in another body he still did not take kindly to doubt to his plans and such. "I know these deserts. And this city. I will be given a warrior's welcome, filled with honor." Even if he had been gone a long time. "I am well respected, especially by those humans that live among us. See us as gods. We are worshiped. Given entitlements. If my home still stands, you will s-"

He paused as he put his nose to the air. There was the scent of death. He went into a sprint, and came over a dune to see bodies ahead. It was common, but not this close to a city. And he knew what it had meant. "It seems...much has changed. Be on guard."

Rowin shook his head. Some times he student could be quite blind to a fair few things but he decided now was not the time to teach just yet. He knew what was over the hill. This was a lesson [member="Salij-Nekt"] would learn quickly. Very quickly, you can't trust people to always stay under you thumb forever. At least not if you aren't there to control them anyways.

He gave an insidious smile as Salij realised what Rowin already knew. "Salji do not worry about me. I have ways of destroying people as do these fine gentlemen and women who know what they are doing and how." Rowin looked at the blood as it began turning into a vortex creating a veievarn "As do the creatures I create from the dead. But this is a lesson for you in control of a populace. Perhaps it is time you took back everything that is yours."

Salij-Nekt looked over the corpses. Blaster fire and blade damage. Ambushed no doubt. These were troops, a patrol no doubt. Slaughtered yet what by? No creature did this. Bandits? Other troops of another city? "I left this place a soldier. A warrior. But the ruler of this city, he has grown weak." The ruler of this city was to be relieved. A new ruler in place...And if Salij or [member="Rowin Taff"] was to be next or even aid the next ruler in line then that shall be what they were to do.

"Things have become hostile. We are in dangerous territory, we may even be walking into a trap." Perhaps his Anubian guard armor would be able to give them a chance, as he still had the emblem of this city.

Rowin giggled, "Don't you get it [member="Salij-Nekt"] this entire city or this whole planet can be yours. This is my lesson to you. Take what you want from the weak. The way you killed my old body. Take what you want Salji. Don't settle for less." He then ran off in a random direction as screams could be heard and his giggling as he brought more people to an end.

When he came back he had two more blood vortexs in tow and several people who where wearing ill fitted armour. As soon as they saw the anubian they pledged their allegiance to him and demanded him to become the leader, as there was a civil war over who was leader and they would rather have a strong leader with powerful allies than a weak one.

Salij-Nekt was loyal to [member="Rowin Taff"]. And as the older master in the boy's body went off giggling, he thought over his words. But no, Salij did not wish for a world. He may have been sith, but Ankhypt he was always loyal to. And always would be. He gave chase to finally catch up, finding humans and a couple Anubians. He stood over them, then signaled for them to rise. "No...No I am not set to rule." He glanced to Rowin, then back to the soldiers. "But we shall find one strong. Ankhypt years ago suffered through war. When us Anubians first came, we fought human colonists. Civil war has come again. Perhaps not across the whole planet, but the fall of the Ancient Eye caused a great collapse."

"We shall rise again, Ankhypt will rise again. Powerful once more, we Anubians shall be. United, once more" Salij continued, standing strong and tall. And this city would be the first step. "To the palace. Those who stand in our way, they shall fall...but we take a secret route. Through an underground temple to the center of the city, before the palace."

Rowin smiled more at what [member="Salij-Nekt"] suggested. Smart, manipulative, and learning. Perfect. Turns out his student knew more than Rowin expected. "Lead on then Salji, my sith spawn can remove any problems from our path but don't forget you need to support someone when we get there." Rowin would say smiling following along behind musing to himself how well his student had learnt.

"If it is the same noble family, I know who." He knew exactly whom to support. The Anubian led the group away, a bit away from the city and around just along the borderline. Then, further away. The temple from memory was some distance from the boundary line. And there it was, a mound in the sand. Just where he thought it to be. Salij climbed the mound to the top. One of the humans went ahead, too late realized their mistake as they fell through.

"Fool..." Salij turned back to [member="Rowin Taff"]. "A way down. Long drop, will break bones. As fool just did." There were other things down there as well. The tombs of the dead...well they were not always filled with just the dead. Creatures of the sands, burrowed through stone. And spirits.

Rowin followed his apprentice [member="Salij-Nekt"] to the temple. The anubian already had some one planned out obviously. It made sense he was a native of the planet in any case. One of the fools he had gathered ran ahead and fell down a pit trap. He shrugged as Salij said things. "Once a fool always a fool but I bet any money that this is not the only pit fall along our journey." He said with a small giggle to himself.

Salij-Nekt had explored this temple. Many times. "We need rope. Or some way down" he said aloud, looking down inside. Usually for expeditions such as these, rope was brought. He had none on him this time, however. "Do you have any ideas to go down there? I do not carry rope." Nor did he ever have need to have one on hand, except for this very moment here. But, they had come unprepared. They had not expected this.

[member="Rowin Taff"]

Rowin laughed out at [member="Salij-Nekt"] suggesting a rope. He laughed "As much as you have learnt you still require some lessons it seems." He said floating everyone off the ground and leading them down walking as if on an invisible stair case walking downwards before finally landing on the ground his ten force users and three blood sith spawn landing right near him protecting their master ready for anything down here.

"Please lead on Salji. Lead us through this temple to where we need to be." He said wandering along already knowing what was down here and the way through it. Hard not to when you saw the construction from a flow walk ages ago.

Salij was lifted off the ground, and down they went. Down to the bottom, where the Anubian immediately walked over to their fallen comrade. "Take what he has. Must not be left to waste." The Anubian was wary of what lurked down here. Salij-Nekt then looked towards [member="Rowin Taff"]. "We go this way" and with his long saber-hilt he pointed down into the dark. And then, he activated the saber to light the way.

Rowin would smile at his apprentice. "Very well show me the way [member="Salij-Nekt"] . It is unfortunate I was unable to grab any lightsabres myself but not to worry all the force powers I have which will keep me safe." As his sith spawn and men arranged themselves around him ready to fight whatever it was further in the temple.

Salij led the way through the dark. The air was dusty and there was an ill smell to it. A sickly scent of deatsweeth. There were unspeakable horrors down here. Salij heard something ahead, his ears twitching. He growled, readying himself as what looked like undead Anubians came from the darkness, only a few.

"Keep your distance! They're weapons are still sharp, and their teeth will still shred!" he roared out as he cut one down. Some of them still held weapons they had fallen with, approaching slowly.

[member="Rowin Taff"]

Rowin could smell it before he saw the creatures. He watched as a few creatures came out of the shadows.They were undead versions of @Salij-Nekt. He was so fantasised by them. "I wanna make some now." As he dominated the mind of one of the creatures taking complete control and using it against the others. He clapped with glee as it began fighting destroying one before it was destroyed by another.

"This is so much fun, I could do this all day" As he turned the last one sending it back down the hall it had come from hoping it would find something else to fight. While this had happened they had lost another two people who had both been added to the sith spawn blood creatures he had made. they grew stronger with every kill. "Lets keep going." as he bounced and jumped down the hallway.

Salij almost struck the controlled one, pulling his saber back to stab one behind with the rear pike end. He cut them down swiftly. Looking back he saw two more men felled. By the time they would get out of this, only a handful would remain no doubt. He never deactivated the saber, following after his master quickly. "Master! There are other things that dwell down here!" He knew of what was down here. Not just undead, but burrowing creatures. Carnivorous beasts that could overwhelm one so easily. Plus, this temple was like a maze. Traps, tempting treasures, all that and such.

[member="Rowin Taff"]

Rowin ran off jumping and leaping off walls killing things as he went. He was simply having fun. By the time [member="Salij-Nekt"] had reached him, he would see that Rowin had already killed off three of the hiding carnivores by himself giggling. "Oh Apprentice you worry far too much. Plus you are a Sith Lord now, you don't fully require me anymore. Plus if simple creatures killed me then there would be no point to me being your master."

He then bounded off again shouting something about bananarama.

Salij-Nekt huffed quietly to himself. Seeing the creatures that he had tried to warn of killed so efficiently, made it seem like he was weak if he believed they could kill so quickly. Going like this, they would make it to the city in no time...and that indeed they did.

"Entrance ahead." They had lost about two more of their followers to more undead Anubians through the temple ruins. Above was a grate, which would lead into the lower parts of the palace. It had been an escape for the leaders of the city. Now it was an entrance to use against them. An old sandstone ladder would lead to the top. Salij watched their backs as they would climb out, going last to climb out of the catacombs.
