The Contagion Kidnapping

Valik

Professor of Alchemy
For the past few weeks Valik had been going from place to place in search of latent Force users. He had frequented bars, homeless shelters, orphanages, all sorts of places where it wasn't uncommon for people to simply disappear without a trace. In following one of his potential marks he'd managed to get to a hospital. Normally this would have made him abandon his mark, and in truth it did, but it didn't bring Valik off the hunt. In following one target he'd found another, one that brought much more promising potential. There was only one problem, she was a doctor. Her disappearance would be noticed. Her patients would be covered by other doctors, their workload would increase, people would start asking questions and that always meant trouble. He needed to silence those whispers somehow.

Thinking fast he left the hospital, and using Sith Mask changed his appearance to that of a wrinkled gray-haired Chiss. He returned later, after the young doctor had ended her shift, and sought out the most "in charge" looking practitioner he could find.

"Excuse me sir?" He said to the doctor, before the medicine gave him a brief turn, not yet dedicating his full attention to Valik. "It's probably nothing but I've gotten a few reports that might indicate we have a new outbreak of the X-41B pathogen. I need to conduct a few scans and make sure it's not here, or can be contained."

"X-41B?" He asked skeptically. "I've never heard of such a virus."

"Yes, you wouldn't have." Valik responded confidently. "It's not exactly knowledge we wish the public sector to obtain."

"And who did you say you worked for again Dr . . . ?" He asked, fishing for his name as well as his employer.

"I didn't." He said, before advancing past the man and heading from room to room, typing away at his datapad as he went.

"This is highly irregular." The doctor said as he followed Valik's trail.

"The X-41B pathogen requires us to be vigilant, lest it catch us unawares Doctor." He said before reaching the room of one of his targets patients. His datapad beeped, and Valik rushed over to the patient and injected him with a syringe filled with poison. He'd be dead in a couple of hours.

"This man is infected. I just gave him a shot of the antidote but it might be too late. Quarantine him. If he 's not dead in six hours a man named Herbert Longshire will be here to extract him. I need the names and locations of anyone who's treated this man in the last 24 hours." He said with a tone of utmost seriousness.

"That's Dr Stromson's patient. I'll call her and tell her to come back in."

"And risk exposing more people? No. I'll find her myself. Don't alert her, I don't want her panicked or trying to solve the problem with a self diagnosis. Just give me her address." Valik said, and the doctor hurried to provide the information. What fools people could become in the face of danger.

With address in hand Valik made his way to the woman's living quarters. A quick touch on her door and application of Psychometry alerted him on how to open it, allowing him to get in discretely. If she was awake she'd find an elderly Chiss in a hazmat suit coming toward her. If not, well, that'd make things a lot easier.
