The Confederacy: Pre-Factory/Codex

[member="Galven Hansol"] | [member="Zenva Vrotoa"]

I will be using your corporations in the refit of the Sabaoth Destroyer. The new Sabaoth-class Assault Frigate will be a Mass Produced, 500 meter warship. Use it to progress your tiers please!

[member="Aedan Miles"]

Your Command ship concept is growing. I'm thinking 3,000 meters and an emphasis on shredding shields/disabling vessels electronically so that they can be captured as opposed to destroyed. Because Pirate.

Just what I have so far, not much, I'm hoping to get a lot of feedback on this. This is a group project, I'm not even sure if I will be the one to submit this, I just wanted to get it in front of us. I've given my input, now it's your turn. Also, the H1s aren't mass-produced so other soldiers are needed.
The biggest discussion though is who will the H1s' have as their original, who is willing to come forth, as the best of us, and have their memories flashed into the droids, and be the face of the CIS!

SPECIAL FEATURES

Strengths:
~ an average carrier, the Diamond Class Cruiser has the ability to get through most engagements (with support craft) to land at it's designation to offload the complement of droids in it's hold that very well could turn the tide of battle
~ unlike it's 'bare bones' predecessor the Mark II sports several missile tubes for offense as well as flak guns for defense

Weaknesses:
~ relies on support craft to ensure it's arrival to it's destination
~ takes some time to offload the complement of droids

Description:

As the well oiled military machine of the CIS has plenty of warships, starfighters, and droids it had come to the attention of some that while their current Dropships could bring the infantry units en mass with a swarm of transport ships it would be more feasible for larger cruisers to be eligible for transporting while armies to a engagement.

CEO Muad Dib began researching older CIS ships looking to find a similar vessel to combat the problem. Coming upon the old Diamond Class Cruiser he found the answer to their dilemma. As the first of many projects the Aegis Corporation began the construction of the new Mark II cruisers that could effectively and efficiently deliver reinforcements to a combat zone.

As the ship lands on it's aft the Mark II's modern shields, weapon systems, and even it's structural integrity lends itself for dual roles. To either unload it's cargo and return to space or to stay and act as an asset to the ground engagement while also serving as a headquarters.

Reinvigorating the older design, Aegis Corp. began manufacturing the Mark II for a fleet wide distribution that would utilize the many droid factories for their cargo and eventually become important, strategic tools for the Confederacy.

As the Aegis Corporation seeks to extend their influence they will have several options to retrofit the holds for other cargo including (but not limited to) bulk transport, organic transport (depending on the order it could be anything to military units to a pleasure yacht), and even starfighters.

And that's why I'm glad I placed this in here before hand... I meant to go back and update that and completely forgot.

Thank you thank you thank you [member="Zenva Vrotoa"]

That would have been bad lol.

DESCRIPTION
(Include some strengths and weaknesses here. Describe some of the history behind the submission. Give us some idea of how it might perform its function, what it excels against and what some limitations of it are. This is where you talk about your idea, flesh it out over at least a good-sized paragraph, and address some of the ways it might be used or abused. For especially powerful or ambitious submissions, a very thorough description is recommended.) All droid characters must be approved through the Factory if their droid models are not canon.

Still new to this sub thing but here are my suggestions.

Description still needs to be filled in

I'd fill in weakness with more info. Malfunctions because of too much software occur if timely memory wipes aren't done, something of the like

If the company is tier 2 I'd think you can bump up production

They may want to know what other misc material is used for construction of the droid

Not sure if they require 'width'

Hangar:
~ N/A

Maneuverability Rating:
~ average

Speed Rating:
~ average

Hyperdrive Class:
~ 1
~ Backup Hyperdrive

Strengths:
~ Between the armor upgrades and the shield upgrades the Blastoise is an armored tank of a cruiser
~ continuing with the 'tank' thought , the weapons on the cruiser pack a tremendous punch allowing the ship to cause damage to more powerful and larger starships
~ the more powerful reactor increases the energy output for all systems
~ thanks to the Evasive Armor Plating the otherwise cumbersome, armored cruiser attains more mobility boosting it's maneuverability

Weaknesses:
~ the lack of a hangar is a glaring weaknesses to starfighters despite the cruiser's defensive capabilities
~ if the reactor core is breached there isn't massive damage caused. Because of the hypermatter reactor the ship will realistically vaporise from the blast in effect killing the majority of the crew and the ship as a whole
~ because of the use of the particle accelerator, if damaged from structural attack, the particle cannons will be automatically taken offline
~ due to the linear rails of the hypervelocity gun the bow of the cruiser must be pointed directly at it's intended target
~ in order for the projectiles from the hypervelocity gun to escape, the particle shields around the turret at the bow of the ship must drop leaving it vulnerable if hit at the right moment

Description:

The Blastoise was created with the desire of making a type of flying tank. Capable of taking on ships much larger and enduring withering punishment the Blastoise can be a solitary powerhouse or part of an escort detail. Created with an eye toward the future it's systems and reactor are prototypes of what the future of Aegis Corporation will eventually begin creating with capital ships, but on a smaller scale.

However due to the lack of a cargo hold or hangar the need for additional carriers for starfighters and infantry are easily apparent. And the vulnerabilities are readily seen. Due to the lack of a starfighter screen able to be fielded natively, the Blastoise has several defensive systems for anti starfighter/missiles. However because of the design that focuses on the durability of the cruiser and it's offensive capabilities these systems are limited.

Designed with the ability to enter a planet's atmosphere and deliver devasting and precise artillery strikes the Blastoise is capable of lending direct assistance to troops with boots on the ground. One of the cruiser's purposes is to act as a shield for the Diamond Class Cruiser which is an infantry dropship.

While the Blastoise performs exceptionally in a planet's atmosphere, it really shines within the reaches of space. Either as the flagship of a small fleet or an auxiliary component of a larger armada the Blastoise is designed for large scale combat.

SPECIAL FEATURES:
~ supports varying ammo of same caliber
~ two cylinders with different ammo
~ utilizes the FWG-5's miniature laser tracking system

DESCRIPTION:
Having used the Protector on several occasions Muad fell in love with the slugthrower but wanted something more versatile and hard hitting. So he turned to his vod, Kal Kandossii, for a rejuvenation and reinventing of the firearm.

Taking the original design Kal wanted to give the wielder an option of two different ammo ropes that could be used in conjunction. Taking the idea of an underbarrel attachment Kal decided to incorporate a smaller cylinder to a larger Protector frame. Having experience modulating the FWG-5's targeting systems and ammo he stripped the electronics to add into the revolver's larger frame.

Deciding to go a step further Kal added optional rounds from the Dissuader, an acid filled slug made in the same caliber round for the secondary cylinder.

Placing the toggle for the revolver on the grips for ease of access makes switching from primary to secondary cylinder easier. However the accidental depression of the button combat can occur if not careful.

With the added Tibanna Gas as the accelerant for rounds, each slug is propelled an encased the igniting gas. Rapid firing of the revolver can cause the barrel to over heat, which could warp the barrel rendering the slugthrower useless until repaired. Small cartridges of Tibanna Gas are connected beneath the barrel and must be exchanged after every twenty five rounds fired.

The Protector Variant MK 1 is designed to be a versatile, hard-hitting, revolver that can be utilized masterfully by combatants (with proper training and practice) in any terrain and against any foe.

Strengths:
~ two cylinders
~ supports varying ammo of same caliber
~ armor piercing rounds
~ plasma coated projectiles
~ tracking rounds
~ designed for countering force users

Weaknesses:
~ small round capacity before needing to reload
~ a need to change out Tibanna canister
~ firing the primary cylinder requires a pause between rounds or accuracy is diminished die to the recoil
~ due to the specialty ammo, once you run out there is no interchangeable ammo readily available
~ being a heavy sidearm it requires practice and training to achieve maximum efficiency
~ rapid alternating between firing cylinders can cause the targeting laser to malfunction which removes the accuracy and worth of the Flechette rounds
~ rapid, continuous fire can warp the barrel

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
  • Classification: Multipurpose
  • Weight: 2.5 kg
  • Resistances
- Blasters (And other plasma type weapons): Average
- Kinetic: Low
- Lightsabers: Low
- Bladed: Average

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Holo-communicator: A hidden holo communicator on the inside of the left wrist, uses an encrypted channel to communicate with recipients on the other end, or project stored data from a connected datapad.
  • Hidden Dagger: There is a slot for a hidden dagger in the right vambrace, hidden between the metal and leather portions on the forearm.
Strengths:
  • Energy weapons: The armorweave coat, vest, and pants are able to disperse the weapon's energy across it, dispelling it and limiting its potential harm. It's not capable of handling vast amounts of energy, but standard small arms such as blasters or standard rifle shots can be withstood with some discomfort.
  • Blade weapons: The armored vambraces provide protection against the use of standard blade weapons, and prevents them from cutting through the rest of the outfit.
  • Lightsabers: The armorweave is constructed using Phrik for the weave itself, providing a chance against a lightsaber wielding opponent. Additionally the metal plates are of Phrik as well, providing some way to defend one's self.
  • Rather Flexible: As the majority of the uniform is armorweave, it is extraordinarily flexible and almost lacking in restrictiveness. It cannot do complex gymnastic maneuvers, due to the vest, well tailored pants, and a long enough coat to get caught on something, but it is far less cumbersome than essentially any set of plate armor.
Weaknesses:
  • Lightsabers: The armorweave, made of phrik and ceramics, is capable of handling a glancing blow from a lightsaber and little else, and while the plates are able to survive a direct hit they are very little in surface area. This means a solid strike over the majority of the outfit will cut it only slightly less fast than a lightsaber through butter.
  • Kinetics: As the armor does not provide some form of softening or padding, kinetic blows (such as blunt trauma or slugthrowers) can provide greater threat than blasters can.
  • Vibro-weapons: While rather well made to defend against a standard blade, a vibro-weapon's vibration cell gives the weapon enough of an extra edge to pose an actual threat. Weapons of this nature can actually cut into the armorweave, or puncture it, with some effort put into it.
  • Force-weapons: Of course another common weapon used in the galaxy by force wielding death-dealers is the imbued sword. Consider it essentially a lightsaber without the laser, it'll find some resistance but with a solid strike or two it can cut the armorweave itself without too much difficulty.
DESCRIPTION

Given her newfound role in the CIS army, that of a General, Ser Aya Clarke found it best to have a custom designed uniform created for her more general purpose use. Her armor, while her preferred defensive tool, would be insufficient in providing an image she could use in most contexts, and the military uniforms of the modern era were less, comfortable for her tastes. The design chosen, one of an older sensibility, would easily find a home among her people in Aelozath, provided a respectable image, and was far easier to remove than a dress would be, if it came time to quickly don her armor as possible.

However, knowing it possible that the newfound General would be in a position of danger where donning her armor would be impossible, precautions were made to prevent her from being defenseless. The cloth used was made of an armorweave instead, at least as far as the pants, coat, and vest were concerned. With these three constructed of a phrik armorweave, instead of the standard durasteel weave, sufficient protection across the board could be ensured so as to prevent untimely demises and risk ensuring the wrath of anyone attached to her. Furthermore, the plates were made of phrik as well, providing actually useful defense against a lightsaber wielding opponent, which the General would likely find herself pitted against in close quarters given her distaste for blaster weaponry.

To provide her with necessary functions for emergencies and general use, the underside of the left forearm was given a hidden holo-pad communicator for emergency functions. This device would allow the projection of holo-communication, or stored information such as schematics in a connected datapad. The right forearm, this time between the leather and phrik plate, was designed with a slot to hide a hidden dagger. There is just enough room to hide a single dagger for personal protection, made so it would be difficult to see without looking at it from the General's perspective.

The end result of this work was a lightweight uniform sufficiently protective to be used where full plate armor would be inappropriate, or inaccessible, while maintaining proper presence. Being essentially cloth or leather like, it would not impede movement greatly, yet the lack of much in the form of plates would reduce overall protectiveness substantially. A well made uniform for a proper lady.

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
Manufacturer: Blood Hunter's Iron Works, Blood Hunter's Machinations
Model: Omni-Directional Mobility System
Affiliation: Confederacy of Independent Systems, Closed Market
Modularity: No
Production: Minor

SPECIAL FEATURES
- Power Pack
- Repulsor Pack
- Cable Launchers (4) : Built-in high-speed winches.

Strengths:
- Highly maneuverable compared to typical jetpack.

Weaknesses:
- Largely reduced effectiveness without gravity.
- Short Power Pack life when using just Repulsor Pack.
- Requires integration into armor's targeting system, cybernetic modifications to user, or a sufficiently advanced droid to operate properly.

DESCRIPTION
The Omni-Directional Mobility System, or ODM, is a sleek, relatively quiet alternative to the typical jet/jump pack. The system's primary means of locomotion are the four cable launchers, two on each side of the user's body. The system also includes a small repulsor pack to aid the user during transit, and is capable of short durations of sustained flight alone. It should be noted however that to rely on the repulsor pack alone is very taxing on the system's small power pack. Additionally, due to the device being secured to the user's lower back, replacing the power pack can be problematic by one's self.

The Cable Launchers fire specially made grappling hooks that are designed to easily penetrate organic matter, allowing the system to easily maneuver through wooded terrain. The grappling hooks also come with powerful electromagnets that activate the moment they impact a surface, enabling the system to move quickly, and confidently in terrains like cities, and even aboard starships. With four launchers in total the ODM system is capable of consistent, rapid movement through any battlefield with sufficient lateral terrain for the system to anchor to. Unfortunately the ODM system requires an advanced targeting system to incorporate into in order to fire the cable launchers accurately. The alternative to this is having the user implanted with a cybernetic control chip, allowing them to trigger the firing mechanisms mentally. Finally, it is theoretically possible that a sufficiently advanced droid could use the system without need for much upgrades or reprogramming.

The entire ODM system is designed to be easily incorporated into many, if not most, modern combat armor systems. It relies on the same targeting software as most armor mounted weapon systems, the MM9 wrist rocket for example. While it is possible to wear the ODM's support rigging without a full suit of armor, it tends to put the user's body through unnecessary stresses. The system is most comfortably for the user when wore over a body glove, and secured to armor plates, thus reducing the rigorous demands on one's body.
