From the Unknown Regions of the galaxy, the Chiss Ascendancy have remained a mysterious and enigmatic people. Despite their isolation, they have thrived, developing their technology beyond what most are capable of doing. They have fought countless enemies, overcome numerous threats, most of which the galaxy has had no understanding or awareness of.
Through intelligence, strategy, cunning and dedication to the Chiss as a whole, the Ascendancy has survived - and even improved - after many attempts at others claiming what they have. It was betrayal and complacence has cost them their home in the more recent years. Government after government has laid claim to their worlds, using the Chiss people for their own purposes. And now, none remain. The Chiss are once more on their own, left to rebuild.
We are Chiss
The Chiss Ascendancy was the oligarchic autocracy of the near-human Chiss species that controlled a portion of the galaxy's Unknown Regions. They were very secretive and highly isolationist, and remaining largely an enigma to the rest of the galaxy, to whom they had little contact with, even by the time of the fall of the Galactic Republic. Their domain was regarded as mostly a legend even within the Unknown Regions.
Since the Gulag Virus and the end of the 400 Year Darkness, the Chiss Ascendancy has been through many trials and tribulations. Many factions sought to control the Chiss through power and domination, yet now they are mere footnotes in the history of the Ascendancy while the Chiss remain. Today, the Chiss Ascendancy rises once more and, alongside their allies, shall become the dominant force the Galaxy shall fear.

New Ideology
For too long the the Chiss Ascendancy has been a reactive force. Our once strict adherence to being the non-aggressor has allowed outsider factions to move on our territories and people, inflicting heavy losses and suffering. This once consistent mentality has now changed, and the Chiss have begin to shift their ideologies to be more precautionary and preventative. So no longer will we watch as nearby sectors and planets are taken from beneath our noses, as we wait for confrontation. No longer will we watch our allies lose their worlds as we had. We will work side by side with those allies and reclaim what was lost.
The Force
The Chiss have a unique relationship with the Force, which manifests itself as powerful instances of Force Precognition in individuals called the Ozyly-esehembo. These young Chiss, each capable of seeing the future in startling detail, and even navigating fleets through hyperspace via the Force, are incredibly rare and highly respected. Those that are Force Sensitive - whether Chiss or not - are considered very important to the Ascendancy, and are given the opportunity to study and develop their power, for the betterment of the Chiss as a whole, by serving in the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet.
Other Species
We have bled with and died alongside many as brothers and sisters, even if they were not our kind. Losing our worlds has been a humbling experience, showing us that not only in this new galaxy are we outnumbered and outgunned but also that there are many worthy of our respect. Many we can learn from. The Ruling Houses have surmised that even non-Chiss are prone to being exceptional. And in this new belief, the Chiss Ascendancy have altered the existing, more xenophobic laws of the culture, and have opened the doors to allowing other species to thrive among our ranks for the betterment of the Chiss Ascendancy.
Our Goals
The Galaxy has forgotten us. We've been silent. We've been complacent. We're naught but a shade of our former glory. But just as our views of the galaxy have changed, so too can the view of the galaxy on us. We will retake our home. We will rebuild. And we will attain our glory once again.
