HYPERLANE INFORMATION
HYPERLANE CHARACTERISTICS
  • Speed: High
  • Accessibility: Much like the Keeta Run the Cassiopeia Corridor was subject to an intense media and publicity campaign by Didact Defense Solutions and their allies at Antigone L.L.C. Traveling agencies, merchant unions, commerce guilds and other organisations have been courted heavily for their business. The former receiving discounts at resting jaunts, transit stations and refuel depots, while the latter were tempted with preferential treatment when it comes to taxation, tolls and midpoint outposts. Because of all of this the Cassiopeia Corridor is widely known throughout the business, commerce and tourism sectors. With the opening of the Corridor visitors from the Corporate Sector can suddenly visit Bastion without adding days or even weeks of additional transit time going around a whole swath of territory. This further connects the expansive territories of the Sith Empire with one another, enabling fast transit between its holdings. In exchange for minimal processing time the Empire patrols the area around Bastion (even outside their borders) and keeps it clean from marauders and pirating threats.
  • Route Hazards: The stretch between Sernpidal and Ventooine is occupied by a treacherous asteroid field. Didact has set up tractor beam relays within the field to keep the way clear, but there is still the risk of an asteroid drifting onto the path of the land itself. Usually this ends in some heavy damage, but survival. Only if it's a particularly large asteroid does it end in stardust. To minimize that risk Didact maintains several early warning systems with sensory equipment- if a large collision has been detected there are two junction points before entry through the asteroid field where travelers can rest and wait, until the way is clear again. Other than that the Cassiopeia Corridor is relatively safe and secure from other incursions. The Sith Empire keeps the areas next to its borders safe and Antigone regularly patrols the other regions the hyperlane crosses, especially because of its high-value to the organization with all the profits they are receiving from maintaining and promoting the hyperlane.
  • Rest Stops: The Cassiopeia Corridor passes through multiple major trade hubs and urban centers as it enables commerce to flow directly from the Corporate Sector to Bastion itself. In between these worlds are a handful of refueling depots, automated repair yards and even some rest pits. One of them is the Continental Station, located roughly between Cantonica and Lorrd.
The Continental is a hotel in space and caters to a very exclusive and rich clientele that often finds its way to Cantonica itself. Build into a gargantuan drifting asteroid the Continental has been serving the illusive clientele of Cantonica for close to two decades now. It's interior is lush, extensive with large corridors and expensive rooms. The hotel hosts numerous amenities from swimming pools to hunting grounds and more. The Continental has everything an immoral rich sentient might want to occupy their time with as they rest for the last portion of their trip.

The Alenna Relay is another point of interest. Located near Sernpidal Alenna used to be an abandoned comm-scan outpost of the Sith Empire about three decades back. Outfitted with powerful sensory equipment it was one of the first lines of defenses the Empire’s heartland had to possible incursions from the outside. Since the fall of the old Sith Empire it laid mostly dormant, sometimes being occupied by raiders or smugglers, who didn’t have the technical know-how to truly make use of the installation.

Until five years ago when an old outlaw tech by the name of Dietrich Black moved in with a crew of rogue technicians from the Levantine Sanctum and made themselves right at home. Within the span of a few months Alenna became a thriving Shadowport for the technical orientated. Since that time it has been expanded with a minor refit yard, refueling spots and can comfortably (relatively speaking) hosts about ten score bodies at a time. For the most part the Shadowport hosts about half that number at any moment- from mercenaries waiting for their next job, bounty hunters settling down for the night, a thriving bazaar with illegal mods and more, if you know where to find the Alenna Relay? You are basically set for any outlaw needs you got.

DESCRIPTION
Once the Keeta Run became a wild success new plans were formed up.

After all, there were dozens upon dozens of regions within the Galaxy that suffered (economical and otherwise) from a lack of connectivity to the hotspots of galactic civilizations. Blazing hyperlanes, maintaining and taxing them, it was a profitable venture for Didact Defense Solutions. If they managed to bring new faces and opportunities into the galactic market? Well, much the better for the Corporate Sector, but Mecetti believed it would be better to set-up one more major hyperlane that would connect ancient regions together, before investing further into the hyperlane blazing business and then some.

Around the same time certain figures within the Sith Empire made mention to him how it would be beneficial to set-up a direct transit connection between its current capital, Bastion, and the Corporate Sector itself. Tash saw the profit in that. Certainly. Utilizing the Y5 Lanebrain's low-level of maintenance needs and high transit speeds Didact Defense Solution began working.

While Antigone L.L.C. started the marketing blitz that would put the Cassiopeia Corridor on the map Didact began the process of mapping out a stable hyperlane. Since the Keeta Run Didact had been gathering up force sensitive pilots (sometimes creating them through themselves through certain classified practices) they had established a dedicated scouting and exploration force within their ranks. They immediately recognized the asteroid field as a possible complication.

Utilizing the ancient Sanctuary Pipeline as inspiration they began clearing a path through the asteroid with tractor beams. Then maintained its stability through advanced tractor beam relays that would hopefully keep the majority of the drifting asteroids at bay. After that they continued to seed the route with S-thread boosters to keep the lane open and stable.

The agreement with the Sith Empire ensured that parts of the hyperlane would be heavily patrolled by its navy, which allowed Didact and Antigone to focus on other areas of the lane for its security. The name itself... was relatively easy to come up with. After all, Itash had a reputation to maintain for extravagant gifts. What better wedding gift for his bride than to name the new hyperlane that would bring great wealth and status to their corporations after her?

The Cassiopeia Corridor was open for business.
