"My Lord," came the soft and almost hesitant voice of his new assistant James as he stuck his head around the corner. The boy was still new to his position and the planet of Kuat, practically fresh out of school, plus it was only his first week, but so far he lacked the confidence and directness that he had become accustomed to with his old assistant. James was shy, timid, yet brilliant when it came to computers and databanks. It was why Declan had hired him after his old assistant Patricia had retired. The boy just needed more confidence, especially wen he was delivering bad news, which based on his near paniced expression is exactly what James was about to do. "I... uhhh" he stammered, trying and failing to find any assemblence of composure. "There is someone here to see you my Lord."

"Ok," Declan said looking up at the boy and trying his best not to laugh. James looked like he was going to puke, and while that likely meant he wasn't going to like who his visitor was waiting to enter his office, it was still amusing. "Who is it?"

"She says she is Mrs. Holly Starstorm from the Holo-Net News,"
James said still nervous, but relaxing a little with Declan's more relaxed tone and demenor. He still looked sick, like the news he had delivered so far was just the start.

While Declan hadn't formally met the woman in person, he was aware of who Mrs Starstorm was from her long career, and they had been in attendance to several formal functions within the Alliance. Still she had never really paid much attention to him, nor had he ever found the need to seek her out. So this visit was, unexpected. "And what did Mrs Starstorm say she wanted?"

"Well..."
James began, his voice cracking a little under the stress. "She said she is here to talk about some missing ships."

That got Declan's attention, and he found himself standing and slamming his fists onto the wooden desk before him, before he even realized that he was going to do it. As he stood fuming he could feel the waves of the Force radiating off of body, shaking the furniture and making a few items seem to fall over from the tremors. If they had been in orbit on the construction platform, he was sure an entire section of the construction ring would have felt the tremor, as it was he hope that it had been confined to just this room. How in the name of the Sith had she learned about that? No one was supposed to know! Declan and House Forst security had spent a great deal of time and effort not only investigating the theft of several newly constructed vessels built specifically by House Forst, but also making sure that no one else learned about it. Being a part of The Ten families of Kuat was a delicate matter that couldn't allow for the appreance of weakness. To the galaxy The Ten were the united front of the massive ship builders of Kuat Drive Yards and the government of the planet of Kuat, but internally they were ten competing and conflicted families. Alliances and vendettas were completely based on power and prescieved strengths. Having these ships stolen so easily made House Frost look weak and could lead to attack from any of the other families.

"How in the name of the Force does she know about that?" Declan demanded, knowing that James wouldn't know the answer, but not bothering shielding him from his new found anger for the moment. This was a disaster and Declan needed to get ahead of this if the media was already showing up in his business. That did mean getting his anger under control however. "Tell Kroger that I want to see him as soon as Mrs Starstorm leaves." Declan said taking a long deep breath, using his training to bring all his emotions back under control. "We need to find out where the leak came from, and I want an update on his investigation. We are obviously running out of time."

"Yes My Lord,"
James said, but not moving. He just looked back at the office door, than back to Declan looking like he was unsure what to do yet. "Umm..." he croaked a little. "What about Mrs. Starstorm?"

"Give me a moment then show her in,"
Declan said calmly as he continued to take long slow breathes. As he felt his emotions and control returning the office slowly began to put itself back together.object that had been knocked over started to stand up and return to their normal positions, by the time Declan was calm again the place looked immaculate. "I'm ready."

Holly was on a story, which was pretty much everyday of her life. She was supposed to be on Spira, taking some mandatory vacation but there was no way her editor would yell at her for tracking down this lead. It was a good story and she had solid evidence. She could vacation anytime.

When she was let into the office by the shy assistant Holly walked in confidently and stood in front of the desk.

“Mr. Frost I’ll get right to the point. We are doing a story about the ships that were stolen from you and wanted to know if you had any comment or further information you would like added?”

"Well," Declan began, doing his absolute best to keep his face soft and inviting and his smile genuine despite the rage that was brewing just below the surface. He wasn't mad at her per se, she was after all just doing her job, and the fact that she had learned anything thus far just proved how good she was at her job. No, he was just angry in general. It was embarrassing enough that someone had managed to steal two state-of-the-art warships right out from under House Frost security but worse that enough information had leaked out that anyone knew about the whole thing at all. The fact that she was standing here now was a testament to how badly someone had screwed up. Still, she wasn't holding any punches and Declan was grateful for that. Maybe he could use her to plug the leak and maybe even find his ships. "You don't hold any punches do you Ms. Starstorm? Just blunt out to the point."

Declan took a moment to straighten his suit a little before moving around the desk to join her. He wanted to project the appearance of them being equals in this matter, rather than the more adversarial stance being behind the desk would project. He needed to make her trust him if he was going to get any information or help out of her. "Where would you have heard a thing like that? Kuat Drive Yards and House Frost in particular has a very well-earned reputation of tight security and being able to deliver ordered products without interference. Who would want to spread otherwise?"
