The Calypso is the brainchild of Darth Metus, created as a gift for his apprentice [member="Lilith Engelis"]. Inspired by his own personal vessel, the Calypso was born with an emphasis on speed over raw power or durability. To this end, the vessel was equipped with the quickest engines available to Stargo Defense Enterprises: their very own Pulsed Ion Engines. Through these, the Calypso enjoys a great sum of fuel efficiency coupled with exceptional speed and maneuverability.
In addition, Darth Metus chose to keep the dimensions of the vessel small and its hull plating light in order to allow it to move with even greater ease. Furthermore, he also decided against incorporating a Hangar space of any sort and kept the armament selection small. All of these measures result in the Calypso being able to contend with smaller vessels of comparable size, but leave it vulnerable when facing larger capital ships. In essence, the average Frigate or above would eat the Calypso alive in a head-on engagement.
Vulnerabilities aside, the Calypso is a light and swift vessel poised to reliably ferry its owner across the stars.
