The Calling

Saleucami

A world of mixed terrain, from dank, swampy environments marked with strange bulbous plant-life, to arid deserts, Saleucami is a world full of wonder and amaze.

Lokthra Dawning was practicing her pilot skills in the Saleucami system, when all of a sudden she heard a voice... A cry, and it was calling her name. 'Lokthra... Lokthra... Help me, I need to be set free". Lokthra followed the voice all the way to Saleucami. She flew low -- Just above the trees. She seen many ships from the Clone Wars, both CIS and Republic, from all sorts of classes. She noticed in particular a few ships that looked flyable. But that would have to wait. Right now she follows the plea.

She hears the plea, and realises she is directly above it. Although she notices nothing in particular. She lands the ship below, transmits a message to her father asking her to meet her at her current coordinates and be ready to salvage and perhaps claim some old ships. He replied eagerly stating that he was only in the next system over so he would be there in no time with his speedy ship. The transmission ends and she has a sigh of relief and walks to the source of the calling.

Ps. This is my first time doing this so constructive criticism is greatly appreciated :)

Brajim Wasteland
Saleucami

Saleucami was located south of The Wheel, deep in Silver Jedi controlled space. As such, it was friendly territory as far as galactic politics went. Monica didn't mind that boon at all. It just meant free parking.

"Stay with the ship R2. I'll be right back."

Saint Monica of New Prosperity had come to the world to look for Orjambing Crystals. A rare ingredient in Hyperdrive motivators. And luckily for her, she had stumbled upon records of a hidden cache here, in the Brajim Wastes. A strange alien desert indeed.

Equipped in her exotic black outfit[1], she stepped forth into the dry sands. Deep within the Force.

A black Umbra Class dropship made its way through the atmosphere, its hull absorbing some of the radiant heat from its decent. It made a quick bank over the tree line, while trying to remain low to avoid detection. The roaring grind of the landing gear only stopped upon the sound of compressed air, signaling a successful stop. The rear ramp began to depressurize, as the vessel bearing the markings of the First Order, revealed its lone passenger.

Aizen stepped off the ramp, his FO-XR 007 blaster drawn near to his chest while other numerous blasters and weapons rigged to his red suit. One tap, two tap, Aizen's finger twitched his trigger lightly. He looked past the horizon, his cybernetic eye examining the forest he was about to enter. It was clear, and with such a greeting he lifted his left arm, signaling the dropship to depart.

The pull of the air in the area increased as the engines began to increase for takeoff. The ship hovered around revealing no presence of its passenger.

"Where did he go?" one of the pilots asked.

"I hear this one makes a habit of doing that," the main pilot answered. "These Security Bureau agents tend to be like that."

Aizen could see the dropship ascend upward, only to disappear from his sight in a matter of seconds. The mission had now just officially started - locate and investigate the nature of the distress call.

Two tap, three tap, one tap, four.

It was an old Venator class ship, a real beauty back in it's day. It looked like it wasn't too damaged by the battle and the fall. That was where the voice was coming from. But who or what could it be? She entered from a hole in the ship that lead her to the 4th floor -- Crew quarters. It looked mostly destroyed, but she found a skeleton that drew her attention in particular. A clone Commander, his suit had green markings. She figured that some protection was better then none, so she took the armour of the warrior of old and put it on herself.

The desert widened as Monica approached the great barrel sea. An endless expanse covered in the skeletons of old. A ship graveyard of some kind. Already well looted in the eight hundred years that had passed, and yet. A distress signal emanated from one of the vessels. Not an old vessel either.

"Oh my? What have we here."

Atop a large ridge Monica stood with a squint to her eye. The distress signal was coming from an old Frontier Class Corvette[1]. A barely 150 meter vessel often used for picket duty by the Silver Faction. A common sight in these parts of space, yes, but not when she was shot down and bleeding. Oh dear.

"Go figure. A wreckage amongst the wrecks. How quaint. Poo."

Monica swaddled herself up in her black cloak and began the slow decent down the sandy dune. Using the Force to guide her path. Mmm, perhaps her secret cargo of Hyperdrive Crystals lay inside? Who could say?

Lokthra continues to traverse this giant ship. She comes across the armoury, and much to her suprise there are 3 crates of various Republic weapons. She marks them and marks every corner she goes, so that she can go back and retrieve some the cargo for profits.

Lokthra came to a junction. She struggled to decide; Left or Right. She took a deep breath and listened for the calling. It was coming from above her, the bridge perhaps? Lokthra found a turbolift and climbed the shaft up to the hanger deck. She was jaw dropped, there was 4 ships still in reasonable condition: an LAAT, Arc 170 Star Fighter and 2 Y-Wings. She immediately ran over towards them, and checked if there where any issues with them. One of the Y-Wing's had faulty engines and the Arc starfighter had faulty engines. The other Y-wing and LAAT where perfect though. More ships she thought, as she thought of her dreams she smiled and gave the kind of smile that would last a lifetime.

She noticed a sign that said bridge. Lokthra climbed the final turbolift and arrived at the giant war ships bridge.

Aizen cleared the thick forest as the dense forestry seemingly morphed into grains of sand underneath his feet. He could see upon the ridge the land blend into a waterfront, the sun reflecting off the ocean horizon like stars set upon a blanket. The cover he had enjoyed from the trees and their shade began to dwindle with each passing step. The only good thing was that the beacon was becoming stronger. He was definitely going in the correct direction. The bad thing was that he was beginning to get pinched with cover options and he did not like it.

He did not need enhanced cybernetic vision to notice the expanse of fallen ships of yester year sprawled across the sandy dunes. It was essentially a museum of the Empire collected into one neat area. One tap, two tap, three tap, four - his cybernetic vision began to scan the area.

What do we have here, Aizen thought to himself, noticing a lifeform ([member="Saint Monica"] ) slide down one of the dunes. She was headed for something and from his triangulation, they were headed for the same thing. One tap, two tap, three tap, four - show me what surprises are in store, he thought.

Monica drew up to the Corvette and admired the disaster now caked in sand. Hmm.

"Let's try the hatch. Shall we?"

She tapped the control panel aside the airlock. It took only a short climb to reach the device and, to no surprise, she found the vessel without power.

"Damn. ...Welp. Guess we'll have to do this the old fashioned way."

The black magic woman withdrew her blue lightsaber and cutaway the door. Using the Force she sent it's smoking spiraling out into the sand. Thump. So much for that hatch. Sheesh.

With a rush of the Force she leapt inside. Closer to the distress signal with every step. Meanwhile, the Force made no mention of [member="Aizen"] 's presence to her either. Perhaps it had not decided whether he was yet friend or foe yet? Or, perhaps he was too far away to be noticed? Hard to say really. Only time would tell.

Lokthra gazed with amazement. She was a door away from the bridge of one of her favourite ships. Deafened by her lust of ships. The voice is whispering to her "Enter... Enter". She shot at the doors controls in hope that it would open the doors. But to no avail, the doors didn't open. She thought about opening the door for a few minutes, and when she opened her eyes the door had opened. She was shocked, how did the door open? Unbeknown to her now, she is destined to be a great master of the force. Her jaw drops in amazement of what she see's -- both good and bad things...

Aizen could see his target enter the ship. Nothing like being left behind to motivate one's self, he always thought. He shifted his weight , causing him to slide down the dune. An enhanced jump here and there and he was now an attendee at the event.

Aizen hurried to the hull of the ship. He squatted down, examining the remains and quickly noticing the molten edges along the fallen hatch and the frame that encased it. His eyes widened, his heart skipping a beat or two as he grasped his blaster handle firmly, instantly noticing the markings of a light saber.

He braced his back next to the hull, quickly peaking in with one eye down the shaft. He saw nothing. Was it a Sith?
Maybe a Jedi. Either way, he armed his weapons for worse case scenario. That was how the Security Bureau trained him. It was all for the First Order.

One tap,two tap, three tap, four. Ready or not, Aizen was coming.

It only took a kick or two to knock open the bridge doorway. However, it was the smell that got you. Ugh. There were still bodies in here. Somewhere. Causing Monica to frown inside her helm. Even with the filters engaged, the smell of rotting corpses was still pungent. She decided to be quick about it.

Around the small bridge of the corvette were the last remains of the crew and their sudden impact. A hole in the windshield spoke of the dangers of crash landings and sudden depressurization. These men and women were dead long before the ship struck Atmo. This had been a gunfight with turbolasers. Somebody had shot them down. Interesting.

"Well. No power. Best to just grab the black box and clear the distress signal."

Clad in her HD coat, Monica leaned down underneath the Captain's chair and tugged at a near compartment. The black box. A recording device that captured the ship's last moments. Perhaps tied in to the distress signal too.

*pop*

"Ah. There we go. Nice and easy."

She with drew the handheld device and smiled. Outside the ship, the distress signal would cease. Mission complete. Nothing to recover this time. This ship was destroyed.

Lokthra seen the corpses of around 30 crew men, ranging in various outfits and roles. But there was one in particular that got her attention. A brown robed humanoid. She thought, could this be... A jedi of old? She investigated the corpse and found many old broken trinkets. Then in one of the sleeves she found it. A lightsaber. She hoped and dreamed that it could be hers. The voice spoke to her "You must complete what I could not"

"What was your mission Lokthra asked?"
"To give much needed supplies to the Jedi Order"
"I... I don't know how to say this, but the Jedi Order is gone. A New ones has arisen in its dust though; The Order of the Silver Jedi"
"Oh. Then my mission was a failure...The supplies are in the locked hanger on the main deck, they are yours. At least I'm free; No longer bound to the mission."

And without any words the corpse had disappeared into thin air -- The lightsaber too.

She thought to herself. 'Hmm, I wonder what supplies the Jedi Order could of needed so much to have a Jedi bound their life to the mission"

Lokthra hears the sound of her father's ship landing nearbye. Without haste she went to meet him, between his entire crew (couple thousand battle droids) and them, they searched the ship and hauled everything valuable possible.

They managed to get:
1 box containing a special purple kyber krystal
3 shipments of old Clone Wars era guns locked by a magnetic seal container
1 LAAT (Half destroyed but repairable)
1 Y wing (Half destroyed but repairable)

Clankers. He always hated them. Being that he was more machine than the man he remembered, looking at one just made him feel like he was looking toward the future. And it was not what he liked.

He didn't register the beacon anymore. He was a sitting duck trapped in a can witht he appearance of clankers. He could have easily taken them out from his position. His cybernetic eyes made sure of that, but it was the thrill of something up-close that made Aizen still feel human. He moved close to three of them, pulling his vibro-lance from his rear and carefully placing a shock to the back of the head of one of them.

The generated shock instantly took out the target. Aizen did not have to pull any strings against clankers. The remaining two moved as expected. One tap, two tap, three tap, four - the unit was down.

Aizen shifted his attention to the cargo. With a simple thrust, his eyes opened wide - it was stuff from the Republic. Old stuff at that. Why didn't any scavengers or pirates raid this vessel he wondered.

Aizen took out his datapad, interfacing with the down droid. He cracked a smile at the sheer numbers that was at location. Maritine law stated that spoils went to the founder. He was behind the clankers he did not completely know. All he knew was that they were far from home.

One tap, two tap, three tap, four.

The tactical droid in command of all the Battledroids had failed to receive a check in from one of his units. He sent it multiple times, but to no avail. He reacted by sending 10 Super battle droids to their last known location.

[member="Aizen"] busied himself with procuring cargo and befuddling [member="Lokthra Dawning"] 's sentries. Meanwhile, Monica slipped out of the broken Corvette with her new toy in tow. Cradling the black box under her arm with good pleasure.

"Oh my? What's all this now?"

Naturally, Monica noticed the droids nearby. Appearing to be working on salvaging from an old Venator class warship. A hulking ruin if Monica had ever saw one. Alas, she had no time to play with droids nor their curious owners. She cast a small charm and past from their sight easily enough. Returning to the dusty ridge line from whence she'd come. Then uncloaking.

"Well. That was quite the adventure. Strange to find so much company in such a graveyard though? Perhaps this gentle lady should make her exit, promptly."

She smiled to the scene below. It would no doubt resolve itself quickly and lead on to only more grand adventures still.

"Well enough. R2? ...Yes dear, it's me. Fire up the ship darling. I'm coming back."

...

And so it was that Saint Monica of New Prosperity took her leave of Saleucami. Perhaps onward to Voss now to return the football to the Silvers? Mm, who could really say.
