Public The Call Of Perfection

Eadu

Biomaterial. Synthetic. Mineral. There were hundreds of materials that could be used to keep the Corenet running, but the one thing needed above all else was power. Burning biomass, creating vast solar generators, hydro generators, nuclear. Any sort of power was taken and used, to make use of the worlds the Marasvan tore through. Sometimes, however, they would learn of something more useful than what they had been using. A cord in the harmony that was the network of consciousness within the Corenet brought forth such knowledge. A researcher of lost technology pointed to a facility that had been long buried, and yet found once more. The Eadu Energy Conversion Laboratory had built something there, something powerful.

The Corenet required it. The whole of the network rang in the same tone. They needed it found, and whatever information was left needed to be scrounged up. The storm of the world could similarly be harvested. As could, well, the civilian population needed to be embraced into perfection. The Precursor stepped forth from their vessel, staring ahead towards the facility ruins. It had long been buried, under years of wear and tear. Now, it would be unearthed. The orders rippled through the chorus of the network.

Find the facility database, harness the storm, harness the people and the world itself.

Jo'Han landed his starship amidst the storm with no small amount of difficulty. He picked the flattest surface of the rocky terrain he could find.

Luka had gone missing nearly 3 years ago. Why was her ship's signature pinging from Eadi? Why was his sister finally showing herself here, of all places?

From the surface the signal's source became clearer. As Jo'Han unfolded a signal locator, he donned a poncho to cover himself from the wind and rain and checked that his recently-recovered lightsaber was at hand.

He stepped off the ramp into the gales of wind and water, placing his steps carefully, following the signal on the device. It led down treacherous crags and storm-smoothed water-slick rocky surfaces to what almost looked like an excavation site - if the storm didn't obscure most of his vision.

Jo'Han silenced his steps, kept low and crawled into a crevice to get a better view at the movements below - where the Luka's vague, distorted signal came from.

:: Is the signal below? ::

The question and confirmation came at near the same time. The Precursor stood, glowing mechanical eyes scanning over the rubble and more and more of it was atomized for collection. Much like a disruptor, but rather than reduce to nothing it reduced it to a much easier mode of transportation. With enough time, containers were swiftly filled of the varying metals and minerals within the rock. Metals that were quickly growing in number as they neared the core of what this facility used to be.

:: Organic detected. ::

The Precursor's eyes shifted up, scanning around briefly. A scout had found someone approaching. The locals weren't supposed to be here. The closest village had already been repurposed. A pair of Marasvin took off, clambering up the rock walls to intercept and collect. Perhaps a survivor was the agreed upon thought through the Corenet. They would be dealt with.

What in the nether hell-

The thing he had thought was a droid barely paused between its weird mining and rushing directly at Jo'Han, clambering up slick rock faces with calculated precision, seemingly effortlessly.

Closer, it was worse. There was meat between the metal. Jo'Han had no time to fret over the implications as he had to immediately force-leap backwards while igniting his emerald saber to land upon a higher cliff, trying to buy time and space to figure out just what exactly this thing was.

The abrupt charge of it had him cautious, but with the little time he bought he tried to sense if it had presence in the force - and if so - if it had motivations that were even comprehendable to the knight.

Regardless, he held his saber between himself and the... Metal thing.

A shudder passed through him, not caused by the wind and rain.

A lightsaber. Warnings ran through the Corenet as the pair of stalkers ceased chasing down the man. Instead they stood to their full heights. Weaponry built into her arms extended, blasters. Disruptors. They opened fire, keeping their distance, in fact making further distance as they seemed very aware of the danger the lightsaber held for their physical form. The Precursor below reached a hand out towards the rubble, starting to assist the drone forms now. It was inefficient for their current form, but a necessity. If this was another of those Lightsaber wielding foes, time was no longer on their side.

They needed to get in before the man came to them and stopped them.

Jo'Han deflected as best he could, green blurs of plasma knocked aside - though from the momentum of each disruptor bolt it was all he could to retreat behind terrain, let alone try to redirect anything.

What was worse - the signal of Luka was split into thinner signals. He could feel some level of force presence from each of them. Something disturbingly familiar was on that presence, diluted into something more alien and unknowable.

A desire for answers overcame his desire for conflict. They were after something down there, but Jo'Han had no idea what it was. Perhaps he should have done any amount of research, but he was expecting wreckage.

Not... Whatever these were.

He retreated around a stone pillar, waiting for them to get closer if they tried to get an angle on him and staying light on his feet to evade.

If it weren't for the feeling of Luka he would have gone on the offensive — this was all too much to take in.

They didn't give chase. The call had been sent through the Corenet, and reinforcements would arrive soon enough. More numbers to overwhelm the lightsaber wielder was their only true avenue for the time being. The pair remained where they were, blasters ready and watching. The Precursor on the other hand continued with the excavation efforts. Within moments the way had opened, and the ancient facility below was revealed.

Good.

They stepped below, leaving more of the other Marasvin to guard and possibly delay if the Jedi changed tactics. It was a danger if they followed, after all. The facility was cramped, and more likely to force a melee confrontation.

Jo'Han was outnumbered, and no backup would come for him. He hadn't exactly broadcast that he was searching for his renegade sister.

Whatever he stumbled upon was larger than himself. He should flee, should live to see another day. He should just accept that Luka died years ago.

A simple memory of youth prevented that. Luka wouldn't run, especially if Jo'Han was the one in danger. She'd punch whatever bully and make them eat their teeth.

What kind of Jedi would he be if he left these creations to their own devices? He faced slavers and smugglers, fought in captivity and escaped. Surely he could find courage to fight, and to learn what he could.

He stared into the emerald light of his saber. He would not die here - Not until he knew the truth.

A steadying breath.

Then Jo'Han sped from behind cover, leaping to a rocky wall to push off of in an ataru wall-lunge to the closest figure.

He doubted he could surprise them. He needed to surpass them even with their full awareness.
