The Blood Soaked Capital

Ession's capital city had been ripped in two in the final battle between the loyalists and the Revolutionaries. The majority of the casualties were on the side of the loyalists, but anytime a soul of Ession was lost, the entire planet suffered. Most of the fires had been put out shortly after the battle was over, but a handful still raged on. The murderous gas released within the streets was being drained, though those around the central buildings were still required to wear gas masks.

Some civilians had suffered. Casualties were in the low hundreds, but even a hundred was far more than Graxin Rade was happy to accept. Ession was now the Reformation's, but its fate was still up to question. He would likely lead the world now, considering his position within the Reformation, but he was not concerned with that now.

For the moment, Rade found himself out in the streets. He stood outside one of the many medical tents. Where the medics and doctors repaired wounds with technology, Graxin relied on the force to heal the wounded. His hands hovered over a young man's torso, and his mind was focused on the gaping hole in his chest. A loyalist missile had sent shrapnel flying through him.

The boy was unconscious, and he had no family nearby to take care of him. That just made things easier. Graxin delved into the wound with the force, down to the cells that comprised the shattered tissues of his lungs. Carefully, he coaxed the cells to reproduce at an alarming rate. Too slow and he might lose the boy. Too slow and the lung might burst.

Under the watchful gaze of the pale moon, the lung repaired itself. Drained, Graxin breathed a heavy sigh, and tilted his head up toward the night sky. It was never truly night in Ession's capital, the city was a bustling center of neon signs and bright lights. Still, he found the night sky comforting. The Knight lingered there for a moment, allowing one of the medical droids to stitch up the wound while he regained his strength.

Work was non-stop, not one minute did she have to herself but there was always someone who needed her attention. Her feet were quick as she jogged towards the medical tent that requested her service. Moving the cloth and entering the room Eyrina's eyes darted around the area. Examining and observing what chaos was raining around her head. She arrived in her gray tank top and black pants.

Overall she was unprepared immediately a nurse ran to the Sephi, grabbing her arm franticly. “She is over here-” In an unhesitant manor Eyrina moved towards her patient. Her long hair pulled back in one large braid. Even though it exposed her weak shoulder it kept the thick mass out of her work. The nurse went about telling Eyrina every little detail, even the ones that were not important, how she got into the glass, where she was, who she was. Placing her purple hand up she threw it up in front of the nurse.

“I didn't ask for her whole life story,” Under her breath she whispered, “wasting my time..” Her comment silenced the nurse. The girl before her had to be human, and a very young one. She had simply got into the crossfire. While her blood was coming thick and was not being stopped by the nurse's attempt at stopping the bleeding.

Lifting the drenched gausses off the girl's arm, from what the nurse had explained to her was that she had a bullet lodged within her forearm. Quickly, there was sterile scrubs already prepared for Eyrina. Maybe that nurse could do more than just run her mouth. Quickly tied the scrub around her body and placed the latex gloves on her hands. Taking a mouth mask she worked it over her pointed ears, the girl who was surprisingly unconscious, but slipping, had been staring at her since her arrival.

Salty tears ran down her cheeks in fear, grabbing a spare gauss Eyrina wiped the youth's tears. Quickly she ordered the nurse to get the anesthesia and put this girl under. “Don't worry child, you will be fine.” Despite her fear the girl nodded as the mask was placed on her nose and mouth, the gas sending her into a deep sleep. It was not very common to use a bullet in this current age.

Though the girl was lucky it was not a laser, gun-shot wounds are easier to treat in an emergency. Quickly, Eyrina was handed alcohol, she cleansed the entry and the area around the wound. Slicing into her skin, she held the deep cut open and ordered her cold tongs to take the bullet out. Luckily it had not lodged itself deep within her arm. Leaning a little closer, her hands were steady and careful. One wrong move could lead to several complications.

Once the tong had a grip of the bullet Eyrina took it out and placed it onto the steel tray, along with the bloody equipment. Taking the needle and suture, Eyrina proceed to take edges of the skin and loop the thread through the skin. Tyeing a knot at the end to keep it all together. Like that, she was done with the procedure. The girl was fast asleep, slowly Eyrina removed her bloody gloves and properly deposed of them.

Along with her scrubs. Back in her original attire, she looked around. It had seemed to calm somewhat in this tent. Mostly tending to patients who were just recovering.

Katrina closed her eyes for a brief moment in an effort to center herself. The death hit the empath most of all. She could still hear their cries ringing in her head. The same could be said of the wounded whom lay before her. The woman felt their pain as if it was their own yet she wouldn't allow it to affect her. These people needed her and the Jedi Master couldn't let them down. Healing was one of her specialties.

The Empath took a deep breath as she opened her eyes again and walked along the rows of the wounded. Few were already be attended to but she stopped as a man reached out to her as if asking for help.

Taking his hand she walked over to him where she could see the huge wound in his abdomen. Putting her hand over him she delved into it with the Force. The cells quickly reproduced but the process was a long one as it was a big wound. Katrina was tired but she couldn't stop all these people needed help. Even if they were not directly saying it she could feel their pain.

The familiar sound of gunships flying overhead filled Graxin's ears. He tilted his head back to watch the massive shuttles soar over the sky line, and come down to land just a few meters away from the tents. Medical personnel poured from the gunships, all clad in the armor of peacekeepers. They began to shepherd patients into the ships to be transported to one of the nearby hospitals, which was just fine with Graxin. They would receive better treatment that way.

"We'll help whoever we can." he murmured under his breath, the cold night air billowing out in a wispy white cloud as he spoke. He strode toward the tent, particularly toward [member="Katrina Garnier"] and [member="Eyrina Ateo"]. The rest of the medical professionals began to relocate to the hospital, but a token few remained to help any stragglers.

The Knight offered a smile to the two women. "Doing a lovely job ladies." The tent emptied other than the trio and their patients. "Very lovely job."

The gunships took off toward the skies. The majority of the street was now empty, save fr a few armored Peacekeepers and the occasional civilian. Graxin hovered over one of the unconscious patients, a young man who had inhaled the gas Jo-shal had employed. He hovered his hands over the boy's chest, working to separate the poison from his cells. For a moment, the technique worked, but then it began to falter. The poison used was just too potent.

Graxin clicked his teeth to gain the attention of the two women. "Jedi, I need help with this. Doctor, I need you to set him up with a blood transfusion, type--" he strained to read the blood type hastily scratched into a piece of paper stapled to the boy's shirt. "O."

The majority of the patients were lifted out of the area. Eyrina turned her head to the words spoken towards her. Both her and Katrina Granier, a woman she had yet to become familiar with was being thanked for their work by Graxin Rade. Eyrina never really liked the force when it was used medically. It seemed as both of them weilded it.

Never once and her life as Eyrina. Of course it helped but she'd give anything to see half of those force users try and take care of a patient without their powers. The look she gave the woman was subtle, hardly even noticeable, a quick glare. Which just one of the several looks the Sephi could give her. Maybe she was a little envious of the power.

There was honestly no telling with the woman. Than she was ordered to give a blood transfusion. If there was one thing Eyrina did enjoy, it was aiding people. Quickly she trotted over to what was left of the blood bags. Immediately she slipped on a fresh pair of gloves.

It was dangerous to deal with blood and have no protection. Her fingers tapped the tags on the bags, searching for the type. Once she found it, a small packaged and prepared tubing and catheter was already in her hand. Moving back over to the patient, she grabbed the IV pole and hooked up the blood. With a clean cotton swab at hand she pushed up his sleeve, found the vein and ran over his skin with saline.

Slowly the tubbing was moved into his arm and began the flow of blood. Her large green eyes moved onto the boy's face. Before she could allow the two Jedi to do their work, Eyrina clicked a small flashlight on and lifted the left eye lid and then the first. Tiny red veins were covering the whites of his right eye but the other only effect slightly.

With his eyes rolled to the back of his skulls was only able to shine the light on his irises with pure luck. Luck is something doctors are not familar with. They did not constrict equally and than she clicked the light off. "The toxins must be effecting his nerves as well." Backing up, she allowed the Jedi space to move in on the boy and preform their works.

As far as Eyrina was conserened her work was finsihed untill the two could do no further repairs and she would move in and see what she could do.

There were a few things that kept her out of the woods so to speak. One was her daughter and the second was her love to help others. Katrina used her Force gifts because she could help others faster. If she didn't well that was alright too because she had also taught herself medicine. Kat had to in order to take care of those most precious to her.

Trying to drown out the cries for help in her head she went to the next patient. It was clear to her now that she was out of touch with her ability. It hasn't taken full control over her as of yet but it could it she wasn't careful. The time that she had spent away from humanity had made her soft and as such she would need to work on this. Good, it would give her something to focus on later.

Her head turned to her side slightly as she heard a voice nearby asking for assistance. Just as soon as she was finished with the woman in front of her she rushed to the young boy. She didn't know the doctor or the Jedi but that didn't surprise her nor did it matter at this moment.

Once the doctor had finished inserting the IV Kat went over to better examine the young boy. A quick scan showed that he had poison in his system. "I'm trying to get a read on the poison itself. I may be able to whip up an anti-posion."

Graxin was entranced in his work for the moment. His eyes had closed, and his consciousness was now steeped entirely in the force. With the assistance of the other Jedi Master, he rebuilt the shattered tissue of the boy's lungs, and began to slowly fabricate the marrow within his ribs. He would survive, hopefully. All that was needed was a little more time.

"Some kind of gas from the planet's core. Toxic to humans--thank you sweetheart." He murmured in indication of the Sephi grabbing a blood bag. Graxin encouraged the flow with the force, delicately replacing the tainted blood cells with fresh ones. It was a difficult and delicate process, one that required full attention. The Knight never opened his eyes throughout the whole escapade.

"Just need him cleansed for the moment...our nurse has his blood flow under control." He nodded toward the Sephi. "We'll keep him well enough....trying to de-toxify with the force, can you help me Miss...?"

Graxin knew she was a Jedi and...that was it. He hadn't had the time to meet many of those who had come to join his order--a damned shame.

Eyrina crossed her arms and scoffed from the background. “Look, you can keep the symptoms down but nothing is going effect the gas fully. Of course it will keep him alive a few extra minutes but what is the point if in the end this human is dead?” Moving a little closer she turned to the both of them. “If you can give his exact symptoms I'll be able to crack this.” Inhaling she continued, “If this all goes wrong than you can move in with your force.”

Quickly she moved to the right of him and placed her fingers gently under his jawline and searched for his pulse. It was very, very fast there was more than a few cases they've got like this. She whispered to herself, “Loss of consciousness..” Taking her hand she began to wipe the sweat that accumulated on top of his forehead. His mouth was slightly opening, his chest was constantly heaving, he was panting.

“Shortness of breath” Both of her ears twitched as her mind raced to think of what the exact gas was. From what she could tell is, it was undetectable by scent or vision. Than it snapped in her mind. “Carbon Monoxide poisoning, I can't even begin to think of how it reached his lungs.” First she would start CPR, she placed her folded hands over his chest and followed the correct procedure.

“There is only one way we can flush it out for the time being before he can be taken to the proper medical facility. This medic tent can't provide him with the best supplies.” While she ran her mouth, Eyrina reached over and grabbed the oxygen mask by his bedside. Placing it on him, she began to turn the dial up. “He needs high doses of oxygen and when he is taken, they'll moniter his carbon monoxide levels..It's a wonder this boy is not already dead."

Taking a step back Eyrina took in a deep breath and looked at the two Jedi. "Now we wait untill he can be airlifted. With the rest of these paitents." His breath began to slow. Gently she placed her two fingers over his pulse. "I am not Human so I wouldn't be able to tell you if his pulse has regained fully. My heart beats a little bit differently but from what I can tell, he is stable."
