GENERAL INFORMATION

- Description: Looking like a standard sarlacc the Black vault has small differences. The tentacles it protrudes have small suckers to grab and pull in creatures. It is female allowing it to be larger and like the ancient abyss it is large under the trees of Kashyyyk's trees.

- Distinctions: Alchemicall enhanced tendrils that have their own mouths to grab and eat whole wookiee's who wander into the shadowlands. upgraded acids in the stomach that can dissolve armor and metal. Radiating a darkside aura that reeks of malevolence and a coldness deep in the shadowlands.

- Strengths:
Arms: Designed to pull food towards the creatures beak, the tentacles of a sarlacc are numerous and long. The massive size of it has made them thick and able to wrap around the trees that have overgrown the creature. The tendrils are an extension of the Black Vault and have mouths to snatch unaware wookiee's slowly digesting them and feeding the vault or they can grab and pul towards the mouth larger creatures in the shadowlands. - Size: Ancient and developing from a time when the world was being terraformed. The mouth fo the creature is covered in teeth and surrounds a larger section of the forest then what the gullet does. Much like the ancient abyss spread for kilometers around on Felucia.
- Caustic: With the alchemical processes the digestive acids of the sarlacc have been made to go into overdrive. Highly caustic to most metal and flesh in the galaxy. It dissolves flesh and metal painfully. The acid also has a sensory overload/deprivation effect making time stand still and a day can feel like a year or longer while you are paralyzed being digested.
- Connection: The sections of it much like the pit of carkoon spread into tunnels and caves or in this case roots around the pit. Making additional tunnels that have been used to lure in and trap prey for the creature.
- Regeneration: A slow process but has been shown that the sarlacc while dying can regenerate portions of itself. While traveling a regenerated and living sarlacc after boba fett blasted his way out supposedly killing it tried to kill him again and the small group with him.

- Stationary: Like all sarlaccs the creature can't actually move, it is stuck in a single location.
- Environmental Weaknesses: Extreme heat and cold. weapons and anything can harm the creature. It is big, able to survive for thousands of years but it is not invulnerable just insulated with most of its internal organs and what would be needed to kill it under dirt and rock and root and flesh.
- Instincts: It instincts are to feed and it is pretty much simple beyond that. Able to grab anything that moves around it because movement means food. Vibrations in the ground or the air (repulsors, thrusters) that can bring its attention around to start waking it up will make it grab for food.
- Sithspawn: A common trait with darkside creatures is their dislike of the lightside fo the force, force light or wall and beam of light can severely harm the creature but force nullification equipment like voidsteel and stone can cause sections of it to be in agony like it is being severed.
- Internal flesh: While it is highly resistant to its own stomach acids the inner flesh of the sarlacc is not that stonr. It is easily cut and blasted if you are able to move your body and use a weapon while being dissolved.
CULTURE
- Diet: Its stomach acids are able to digest nearly everything given enough time. Flesh and muscle are important but metals and foreign material that do not provide nutrients and slowly will dissolve within the acids slowly.

The Black Vault: Both a place and what the creature is called, from the lowest level of the stomach with the vault being suspended up it is not highly advanced. A repulsor tube that is projected over upwards allows one to slowly descend down into the vault and rise back up with limitations. The stomachs need to be open and nothing in the way. The tendrils and tongues of the creaturee are able to attack you while you are in the repulsor lift.
[*]Religion/Beliefs: The black vault before it was enhanced held a place for the wookiee's of the vilage above it, that is was a place of horror to be avoided and would snatch children who misbehaved. After it was alchemicaly enhanced the vault became a thing of danger getting marking by the wookies that would alert you were within its territory.
[*]General behavior: Stationary and patient, the black vault has been corrupted with the darkside of the force and exudes it across the shadowlands to mix with the rest of the dangers down there. It is ancient compared to most and can grab creatures that appear within its massive maw that has spread across the lower shadowlands. Thick teeth between the massive roots and branches that have wriggling arms for catching the larger and unaware creatures. Since it doesn't move and is so far down the wookiee's don't interact with it. Balaya is able to come and go from it to visit her black vault deep within its lower stomach and for her it is docile serving her as long as she is strong. Its ability to turn on her is there as a possibility.
- With Balaya: As the creator and corrupter of the creature there is a part of Balaya within the creature itself. Bridging and connection them so even with its generaly low intelligence it can recognize her aura when she is near.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Thousands of years ago according to the wookiee's something crashed from the stars. While the trees were still growing and the builders had enslaved the planet. That seed was a baby sarlacc and slowly it took root in the developing forest making roots and having its smaller arms joining in the root system of the world itself. As the trees grew so did it untils its mouth and lip were massive leaving thick and dangerous looking teeth around and between the massive trees. The sun eventually being blocked that far down and the wookiee's making their homes far far far above in the trees.
Over the years the wookiee's avoided it, staying away from the gullet of the beast but traveling the shadowlands it was a place you could use to get through faster. No lifts went there, no creatures would stay for long but there were markers made to show its limits. The tendrils that would pull those unaware into the waiting mouth of the creature this far down where no light ever reached. For thousandas of years it sat there eating and growing and joining with in some parts the roots of the trees, hollowing them out and making tunnels of flesh that would keep it rooted to the planet.
Eventually the sarlacc was found by Balaya and her little group of firebirds. ONes who would serve her needs as they set about looking for a place to create a storehouse, a repository that wouldn't be found easily. THe sarlacc seemed the perfect fit and with some work the sith lord had fashioned a device to get deeper itno its gullet but avoid the acids. Much like the excavation of the ancient abyss that had probed the depths it went far down itno the lowest stomach and with a strong acid coating that would work to slow and prevent the juices from dissolving it. Chains were placed.
The lowest level of the sarlacc well away from prying eyes was given the black vault, a section of metal suspended over the acids and housing her alchemical trinkets, some of her creatures in stasis and the means to find the Nightmare child. The suspended vault was hung there, the tunnels and hollows created by the tendrils rooting it to the planet that could be used to travel through and create supposed safe areas were made to hold small pieces of equipment. THe tendrils that would come around the creature and pull away food protecting it while she worked on the creature itself.
The level of control and enhancement to it with the darkside bound the creature to her, bound it to her will and the Black Vault served her, it loved her, it wouldn't hurt her like a loyal creature. It wouldn't be able to protect her but the tendrils it uses won't grab at her or will try to eat her. Fleshy sections where excretions were stopped to allow movement throughout the creature were also important. The sith lord could move around and get through it being welcomed but others would be attacked once they try and enter if they were not careful.
COntinued work on the black vault came int he form of sacrifices, the dead and bleeding to corrupt and twist it. TO make it more aggresive and dangerous as it couldn't grow bigger but it could be thicker. The tunnels within the branches around it, where it hollowed them out, the different stomachs being used and maintained with suspended vaults over pools of digestive acids. The location within the thick kilometer high trees would protect it from most orbital attacks. Discovery was made to be harder with the darker coloration of the tendrils and lips teeth that faced towards the larger mouth.
