Hyper-Intelligent/Advanced AI - Athena units are capable of rapid data analysis and high-speed processing, allowing the Unit to not only carry out tactical operations but also hyperspace tracking, repelling boarders, serving as an overseer of all other automated systems, and a variety of other tasks onboard a starship.
Adaptive Heuristic Processors - Athena units are considered a learning intelligence by those that designed it and are capable of learning and adapting the longer it stays online, effectively predicting the myriad of possible outcomes and solutions to the ever-shifting tide of war.

Hive mind - For easier control Athena units operate through a single collective consciousness known as the Ravnica network, which exists within the Kaladesh frequency. An order issued from The Throne of The Eternal Sun is not sent to any one Athena unit, but rather to the hive mind for assignment to the best-suited unit.
Central Control System - Orders to a Athena unit are issued from the Throne of The Eternal Sun, which are then relayed through a hyperwave relay station located 10 kilometers below it. The station is the only source of the Kaladesh frequency and transmits signals to all Athena units across the galaxy through hyperspace
WEAKNESSES
Central Mainframe - The heart of Athena is susceptible to close-proximity EMP detonations, a weakness that can be easily exploited by boarding parties looking to disable the advanced Droid at its source and disable the entire Kaladesh frequency and Ravnica network should the Throne of The Eternal Sun be destroyed or otherwise disabled.
Multitasking - To maximize efficiency, Athena typically devotes a large quantity of processing power to one task at a time. However, if the droid is running combat probabilities and it has to suddenly switch priorities to internal security, the sudden division in processing power slows down the reaction and accuracy until it can be stabilized.
Limited Freedom - Each Athena can only operate within the parameters of the orders given to them, and though they possess sophisticated strategic thinking and quick wit, they are completely incapable of disobeying their orders or making their own choices.
Hive mind - Each Athena connected to the Ravnica network acts more like an appendage of a singular brain, Through the Kaladesh frequency, the Athena share their thoughts, reactions, instincts and pain, with each Athena's destruction experienced by all of its sisters.
Central Control System - Since the only source of the Kaladesh frequency is the Hyperwave relay station located beneath and connected to the Throne of The Eternal Sun should it be disabled or destroyed all Athena units will be disabled.
DESCRIPTION
During the earliest days of the Solaris Empire a patrol of imperial star fighters came across derelict star ship which upon further inspection was revealed to house the remains of a GEMINI droid thought to have long been destroyed. Upon further evaluation Emperor Amon ordered the Empires engineers and scientist to rebuild the GEMINI droid or what remained of it from the ground up.
They stripped away the outdated software until all that remained was the core intelligence and the personality matrix of GEMINI, the intelligence that served as captains of the Eternal fleet so long ago. They then designed entirely new body and coding that was then integrated into the core intelligence, bereft of most the old protocols.
Emperor Amon personally oversaw every step of the droid's restoration, inputting his own commands and backup protocols where necessary. With the intelligence core rebuilt with new software 'Athena's personality matrix was reconnected to it's new body and intertwined with the new protocols.
Amon abandoned the old name of GEMINI and renamed the Droid Athena. Not content to just possess one Athena, Amon commanded that more units be created to control every ship in the Golden Armada.
