Sakadi had been away on investigation for some time, leaving Cas with nothing to do but train at Silver Rest. Really, he wanted to be out of the temple and stretching his legs off of Kashyyyk. Finally, that day had come as Sakadi had sent word back to the Council and requested Cas' assistance on this mission which excited the young Padawan greatly... this excitement would quickly turned to frustration, however.

Akemi Sinvala was also sent with him to go to Arkania - their excuse was it would be 'good experience' and the 'familial ties' between the two would 'aid in the mission'... really and truly, he thought it was all bantha poodoo and was a poor excuse to try and get him and the Sephi to resolve their issues. The two had a rough relationship after events that had transpired in the Crystal Caves of Dantooine some weeks prior and Cas was still holding a grudge about it. The whole journey there a word wasn't said between the two, although Cas had a strong feeling she didn't even care - the Sephi practically had the emotions of a droid... as a matter of fact, E-ka probably had more emotions than Akemi. The entire trip, Cas practically irradiated cold negativity to his fellow Padawan that even non Force-sensitives could feel the aura.

Cas was unsure about Akemi's side of things, but he wasn't filled in on many details by the council regarding his Master's investigation - something about rumours of a technophobe cult causing problems on Arkania. Sounded exciting at least. The Kiffar wondered what findings his Master had managed to come up with on her investigation and looked forward to hearing of it.

Now arriving on Arkania, shortly before the shuttle docked at the colonies spaceport - Cas donned standard Jedi snow gear and upon exiting the shuttle's docking ramp, he spotted Sakadi waiting for him and her cousin at the end of the port. It was good to see her again.

To some, the journey might have been awkward but Akemi was grateful for the respite provided by Cas' silence as he had a tendency to be overly talkative. She didn't understand why he was still so angry with her but she didn't care enough to worry about it; she wasn't here to make friends after all. The Sephi had accepted that she had been in the wrong, what more did he want?

She didn't doubt that the decision to pair her with Cas had been a tactical one but she thought such a decision was futile as he was the only one with an issue. Everything had worked out well in the end so why was he still holding a grudge? She would've expected him to do the same as she had if the roles had been reversed.

The Padawan travelled without her Master as he was still travelling back from the Outer Rim but this arrangement provided her with the opportunity to meet Sakadi for the first time, the cousin she had heard so much about. She was aware of the Jedi Master's past but knew little about who she was as a person and was unsure if she was even aware of her cousin's existence as they had never been allowed to meet, let alone play together as children.

Upon nearing the port, Akemi layered herself in clothing for warmth and followed Cas as they left the ship and walked towards Sakadi. Once they reached the Jedi Master, Akemi gave a friendly smile as she greeted her but felt a handshake was too formal for the situation. "Sakadi, Hi." She looked for any hint of recognition on the Sephi's face. "It's Akemi." She clarified in case she couldn't recognise her by her face, hoping it would be enough for the other Sephi to know who she was.

Arkania. The planet of snow, precious gems and technology. The planet's population was naturally arrogant and had the skills to back up their claims, which made staying here not all too pleasant. At least, not for those who came here without a specific purpose.

She had volunteered for this mission. Not because she cared about the specifics or the possible catastrophe that could take place should she not have intervened, but simply because it was on Arkania. The Jedi Master would be lying if she claimed to have had no ulterior motives. The reason why she wanted to visit Arkania so badly, was to find a solution to her a problem. A problem that had bugged her for more than seven decades. Her voice.

If there was a place in this entire galaxy where someone might be able to help her, it was going to be here. But sadly, she had been given little time to go on her personal quest. As usual, there were more pressing matters she had to attend to. In this case, a cult with a doomsday device. And there was no trace of either.

Originally, the Jedi Master had been sent to Arkania to save the original group tasked with this mission. A Knight, Padawan and five operatives, investigating these rumors. Shortly after their arrival, the Order lost contact with the investigation team. As a response, the Order sent her. So far, she had only found one member of the investigation team. Or what remained of him. That had led her to contact the Council who, in turn, had decided to send reinforcements again. This being her own Padawan, and apparently her cousin.

The fact that her cousin was part of the same organization should have moved her. But it didn't, at all. She cared little, if not at all about familial bonds or family in general. Now she could look back on it, her youth had been horrible. Her parents had treated her like a tool, which automatically made her less inclined to care about the people who shared their blood and genes. She was certain that this was another one of the Council's plans, forcing them to get along. That, combined with having had no time to sort out her own problem, had put her in a foul mood.

Silently, the Jedi Master would wait for the two Padawans to arrive. She had little patience today, and would breathe a sigh of relief once their craft finally arrived. Sakadi kept a serene expression as the two approached her. With a slight nod, she returned the greetings of her cousin, barely reacting to her presence. Not in the mood to speak telepathically either, the Sephi would prepare to leave the spaceport, gesturing for them to follow her.

After a long walk through the city's snow-covered streets, they would arrive at an expensive looking hotel. The Sephi would keep the door open for the two Padawans, urging them to enter. First they had to settle in, and then they could discuss the mission.

The walk from the white city to Sakadi's hotel was fascinating - he'd been to a few ice planets before but Arkania was something different, much more advanced and shiny. It reminded him of a snowier version of Kiffu. Reaching the fancy looking hotel, he was impressed and questioned how Sakadi was able to afford this since... y'know, Jedi don't exactly get paid for their efforts - although, he didn't want to ask since his Master seemed to be in a bad mood.

Inside Sakadi's suite, Cas took off the winter coat he was wearing, revealing a black long sleeve t-shirt and placed it on the red couch nearest to him. His mouth hung agape at how well decorated and cozy it looked, "Very nice, Master. Very nice indeed." he stated while warming his gloved hands together, the teen's curiosity led him to scan the room and he noticed a coffee machine in the suite's tiny kitchen area - Cas and Sakadi had reached a comfortable point in their relationship, comfortable enough where Cas felt confident he could make coffee without asking.

The Padawan made his way to the small kitchen and brewed some coffee for everyone as they settled in, yes, even for the 'Deserter' - as Cas prepared coffee for Sakadi and the Deserter, he turned over and leaned against the counter "So, what's going on? The Council left out the important stuff." he asked, the tattooed teen folded his arms and grinned "Lemme guess... a galaxy ending conspiracy that only a mute Sephi, her deserter cousin and a handsome young Kiffar can solve?" Cas chuckled, completely un-serious and unaware about what he was actually about to be told.

Despite the brief greeting that could've been considered odd by some given that it was the initial meeting of the relatives, Akemi didn't think anything of it nor did she pursue the matter further. They were here on a mission after all so keeping things formal would be wisest; she had only wanted to allow her cousin to be aware of her presence and while she didn't explicitly confirm it, there were no further questions asked so Akemi could only assume Sakadi knew who she was.

The Padawan was thankful that Cas didn't feel the need to fill the silence provided by Sakadi's inability to talk and Akemi's unwillingness to. He had proven himself to be excessively talkative when they had first met but with no conversation partners hopefully he would remain quiet. Upon arriving at the hotel, Akemi was surprised at the grandness of the building and the suite they appeared to be congregating in. She knew Sakadi was wealthy and she knew why but was there really a need to spend it on such frivolities?

Akemi carefully placed herself onto a red couch, clearly uncomfortable with the situation; this was far from what she was used to. Fifty years in the military had given her a skewed perception of the galaxy and she felt as though she did not fit in with the Jedi Order; people like Cas only confirmed her feelings. It was frustrating having to begin at the bottom with the immature and inexperienced as she was far more advanced than her 'peers' in some aspects of training, however her Force abilities left something to be desired and the concept felt foreign to her.

As Cas sought coffee for the group, Akemi noted yet another frivolity. Perhaps the Jedi would be more successful if they spent their time doing what was required of them rather than sharing coffee together. "It's technophobes, right? They could be extremely dangerous if they do anything radical given how many societies rely on technology nowadays." She commented, though knew little about the mission herself as they had practically rushed to be there. At hearing Cas call her a deserter again she seemed agitated and her gaze met Cas' with a fierce intensity before she looked away again, unwilling to allow him to anger her.
