Intent: To create a memory droid to allow Ultimatum to work within the confines of the HoloNet a little quicker and more efficiently. Also to create a passive information copying droid.
Development Thread: Can do it needed.

Description: The Archivists were made to cover a specific need of Ultimatum. Specifically, he found that the HoloNet was too vast for him to be able to look for specific information in time constraints. He attempted to produce a droid that had increased capabilities to deal with information. To this end, the droid that was made had a much larger number of memory cores and processing units compared to normal repair droids. He based their design on astromechs but gave them an extra program to act as a repair droid. Their base program is to work as a conduit of information, allowing for faster transfers within the HoloNet.

Ultimatum intended on these droids being kept as repairers and extra computing power in HoloNet facilities. When the droids are plugged into the HoloNet they act as an extra computer helping to speed up the everyday work done on the HoloNet. While a single droid’s effect on the system is negligible, anything over a hundred droids will have a slightly noticeable effect on the HoloNet’s computing speed. Ultimatum added the repair feature in case the facilities needed a repair droid.

When plugged into the HoloNet, the Archivists will also begin copying key pieces of information. Specifically, they will remember any piece of information that conforms to what Ultimatum orders them to remember. This ability is limited even with its large memory capacity because there is simply too much in the HoloNet to allow large pieces of information to be saved. Ultimatum can also order the droids to go back through previously viewed information and collect more attached to it. Unfortunately, their ability is obviously limited to a certain amount of information that each can store before a wipe must then proceed. Each unit can store one Exabyte of information, which could equal about five or six hour long Holo recordings, meaning visuals as well as text. As the total information within the HoloNet far exceeds a few Yottabytes, it would require millions of units in order to obtain even half of the HoloNet's information. This level of production for these is considerably lower than even a single thousand at this point. The information that is available for the units is only insecure direct HoloNet transfer information. Information that is sent across the HoloNet using a secure server or not completely attached to it are not capable of being copied or even viewed. Ultimatum has also made certain that the droids have a specific inability to look through personal files.

When they interact with organics through a computer terminal they have a very unique visual so that the organics can easily identify who they are working with. When the droids take over a computer the same visual representation is shown.

I have a worry about these being used to "Know" the HoloNet and every message sent across it. So I would like to know roughly how many bytes these droids can store.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zettabyte

I would also like it included that they don't collectively form "Big Brother" allowing you to know everything that is sent across a Holo-Comm.

I added the following to the third paragraph:

"Unfortunately, their ability is obviously limited to a certain amount of information that each can store before a wipe must then proceed. Does that answer the last portion? Sorry not certain about the big brother part.
