Suits do not make the man, and in this, Tharan and Balun Dashiell have something in common: They both prefer to dress casually, provided they hold a reasonably tidy appearance. Rather than adopting the white-collar attire, Tharan prefers his signature brown leather jacket and a nice pair of jeans.
The many years of life have had an adverse effect, most notably the salt-and-pepper tone, streaks of grey throughout his hair, and a beard to complement the creases of his skin with the coming of seniority; the stressors of corporate leadership wearing him out over the decades of his work before coming to work with Balun Dashiell, seeking to remain productive and putting his business skills to use, and yet leaving the management to his employer so that Tharan can coast through perhaps another decade of work before eventually retiring.

Tharan Zeren Kai has always been a work-driven individual, dedicating himself to corporate success and advancing to the former position of High Advisor of Syndicated Strategy for Virelux Syndicated Interests, his previous employer. There, his role required Tharan to serve as the chief architect of long-term policy, economic foresight, and external alignment for Virelux's ruling board. While he was not a figure of corporate authority, he was a trusted and valued voice guiding many of the board's high-profile deals with corporate competitors and systems across the Galaxy.
Success can at times come with a price, however, and in the corporation's advancement of capital, also came the unwanted attention of criminals. This would later be the cause that would connect Tharan to Balun Dashiell. Tharan was aboard a VSI transport en route to meet with one of their competitors when they were intercepted and boarded by Pirates, some of the hired crew killed in the exchange, while Tharan and other higher-profile employees were held hostage. Balun was among the Jedi team sent to negotiate for the hostages' release.
Jhaessa Prime & Dashiell Retrofit™:
Some years later, while in service to the Royal Naboo Republic, Balun Dashiell would lead an exploratory team to discover the Nytherra System and Jhaessa Prime, further taking it upon himself to establish a trading colony upon the planet with the guidance of his Father, Judah Dashiell. Balun's life was by no means simple, though, as he not only had a three-year-old Son, but was also apprenticed to the Jedi Master Ala Quin at the time. It would be within the early months of the first settlement's construction that Balun would realise he had over-committed himself and required another set of eyes to be present at the Retrofit Orbital Foundry situated over Kesh: That presence would be Tharan Zeren Kai, after some negotiation of his salary and employment benefits.
