GENERAL INFORMATION
Thalen Dhorain is a quiet son of Denon. He carries himself with a soft stillness, like a man in conversation with something only he can hear. Raised among a large, well-structured family on Denon and shaped by their expectations more than his own will, Thalen learned early that individuality was a burden best laid down.
Scarred young, both physically and philosophically, he came to believe that choice is illusion, and that peace lies in surrender—to one's elders, to one's teachings, and eventually, to the Force itself. His Force sensitivity was not nurtured through dogma or Order, but through quiet instruction and spiritual drift, giving him a neutral, unshaken view of power and purpose.
Now walking the galaxy alone with a crystal eye and no destination, Thalen is not a seeker of truth so much as a vessel for it. He does not rebel, he does not resist, and he does not hope. He simply follows the Flow—wherever it leads. What that makes him, no one, not even Thalen, can quite say.
-
Thalen was born to an already quite large family on Denon. Of course, the family was as loving as any family could be, though it was always hard to stick out amongst his numerous siblings and cousins. For Thalen, he was a face amongst the crowd and that did not bother him...Yet as he grew up, unintentionally, Thalen found himself earning the approval of the elders of his family.HISTORY
Of course, the approval wasn't necessarily affectionate. With the attention of the elders came lessons that his siblings didn't get to partake in. Whilst his siblings got to partake in fun and games, Thalen had alien languages drilled into his head. The importance of following what you were told to do. There was one specific lesson that Thalen experienced that he'd never quite forget. There had came a moment where he had lost his eye after being attacked by a wild animal that had been released on the streets of Denon. He had attempted to protect his siblings from the beast only to be scarred for his efforts. Whilst he expected praise for his efforts, instead he was met with a simple question. "Why?" Why had he saved his siblings? Of course, his response was that if he hadn't, his siblings would have been hurt. The response to that answer? Well, his siblings might not have been hurt physically, but seeing their brother attacked in that way had harmed them emotionally. No matter what choice he made, his siblings would have been hurt. By making his own choice however, the responsibility of that pain weighed on his shoulders. So for better or worse, that lesson taught Thalen that it was best not to make a choice for himself, and just to follow the Will. Be it the Will of his family, or as he'd slowly experience for himself, the Will of the Force.
See, there was another irregularity between Thalen and his siblings. The lad had been Force Sensitive. And whilst his family hadn't been willing to let him go off to one of the various Jedi Orders in the Galaxy, they had hired various instructors to teach him. Whilst he was taught a wide variety of abilities, both that could be considered Light and Dark, Thalen seemed to have some form of natural talent for more neutral abilities. The emotions needed for both the Light and Dark abilities never came naturally to him, though it was pointed out more often than not that he leaned towards the Lighter side of things. And whilst he was not afforded the luxury of using a Lightsaber, Thalen was at least some combat instructors to teach him ways to defend himself. Yet this all gave Thalen his own question..."Why?" Why was his family going through all of this effort? Why were they having him be trained if they would not let him join a Jedi Order? Yet for Thalen, he saw no point in asking. If it was the Will of his family, then so be it.
Then came the day he left his family. They had deemed it time for him to learn more of the Galaxy as a whole. To make his own path that would eventually lead him home. Whilst he'd have access to his family's finances whilst out in the Galaxy, the only gift he'd be given from his family was the form of an eye...or would it be more accurate to say it was a crystal shaped into an eye? Either way, with that gift handed off, Thalen made his way into the Galaxy, ready to learn.

APPEARANCE
Thalen looks like he wandered out of a painting and got distracted halfway through being perfect. Tall and willowy, with the graceful poise of someone who's never had to rush for anything in his life, he moves like silk catching a breeze—easy, unbothered, almost theatrical in how unaware he is of the attention he draws. His hair falls in a dark, neatly tied ponytail, always immaculate in that frustrating way expensive things tend to be, and his mismatched eyes glow with a kind of idle curiosity, like the world is a particularly charming daydream he hasn't finished exploring yet. His uniform is always crisp but slightly undone, as though someone else dressed him and he simply forgot to fix.
-
PERSONALITY
Thalen is quiet—not shy, just distant in a way that feels deliberate. There's a weightless stillness to him, as if he's always somewhere else, listening to something no one else can hear. He isn't cold, not exactly, but he doesn't reach out unless spoken to, and even then, his answers feel like ripples on water—calm, brief, never fully still.
He believes in the Flow of the Force, not as a doctrine, but as a truth—something that moves beneath all things, and which he follows without resistance. He rarely makes decisions for himself, not out of fear, but because he no longer believes in personal will. Choice, to Thalen, is a trick of the ego. He acts as he is guided, or not at all.
There's a scar beneath his composure—one that looks like detachment, but is rooted in a lesson too painful to forget. He has been taught that choosing, even with good intentions, brings pain. So he surrenders his agency with eerie ease. To others, it may seem like apathy. To Thalen, it is acceptance.
He is not cruel. He can be gentle, even protective, but it's all given without emotional weight—like a breeze passing over skin. He does not argue, he does not insist. He simply moves, or doesn't. And when asked why, the answer is always the same: "It was the Will."
Underneath that placid surface, there's a strange kind of resilience—a quiet, haunting strength. Thalen does not struggle against the current. He lets it take him, and in doing so, he survives everything.
Even himself.STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES
Flow Alignment:
Thalen's greatest strength lies in his unwavering trust in the Will of the Force. He moves through the galaxy with grace and restraint, adapting fluidly to changing circumstances without fear or resistance. Where others hesitate, Thalen accepts.
Emotional Detachment:
Unafraid of discomfort, Thalen can remain calm in volatile situations, unshaken by insults, panic, or loss. This detachment allows him to act when others might falter—quietly, precisely, and without ego.
Observational Clarity:
He watches more than he speaks, and in that silence, he sees. Thalen picks up the subtle cues others miss—the doubt behind a smile, the hesitation in a hand. He often understands what people need before they do.
Adaptive Combat Philosophy:
Though not a traditional warrior, Thalen was trained to defend himself with adaptability and efficiency. He avoids showy aggression, preferring redirection, misdirection, and balance in both thought and form.
Passive Fatalism:
Thalen's devotion to the Flow makes him slow to act when initiative is needed. He waits too long, sometimes allowing preventable harm to unfold because he believes interference might contradict the Will.
Suppressed Identity:
He does not know who he is outside of what others have shaped him to be. His sense of self is paper-thin, almost theoretical. He is not unhappy—but he is hollow.
Avoidance of Responsibility:
Though disciplined, Thalen rarely takes true ownership of his actions. If a choice leads to suffering, he blames the current, not himself. It keeps him sane, but makes him hard to trust in matters of consequence.
Lack of Ambition:
He has no goals, no hunger, no desire to be more than he is. This makes him stable—but also inert. In a galaxy built on motion and momentum, Thalen's stillness can feel like absence.
