While a mentally enslaved assassin for the Lost Tribe, Sal Katarn was given an amulet in order to assist him in accomplishing his duties. The amulet is a thaissen crystal encased in alchemically altered bronzium. The altered metal reacts to changes in the thaissen crystal in the following ways:
- When a force user is within a ten meter radius, the metal’s temperature changes.
- If it is a lightsider, the bronzium grows very warm.
- If it is a dark sider it takes on an icy chill.
- The more force users there are in one location, the stronger the sensation will be.
- However, if both light and dark are in proximity, then half the bronzium would be warm and the other cold.
