OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To create a charity of sorts as a show of good will by Myra

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Organization Name: Thaeleon Academy for the Under Privileged, often just called The Thaeleon Academy
  • Classification: Non-Profit University
  • Affiliation: Myra
  • Organization Symbol: A stylized compass
  • Description: The Thaeleon Academy for the Under Privileged is a organization who's intent is to find children and teenagers in under privileged communities and invite them to their academy for free education and training in life skills in high demand by companies across the galaxy.
GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
  • Headquarters: Thaeleon Academy
  • Domain: The Thaeleon Academy for the Under Privileged has several outreach centers scattered across the galaxies. These centers act as schools for children too young to formally join the Academy, as well as clinics who provide free care. Centers tend to be located in incredibly impoverished parts of the galaxy, such as Tattooine, lower levels of Coruscant, Nar Shadaa, and etc. Should a candidate be found on a planet, they will be taken to the outreach center for any medical care they need as well as initial testing. Should they pass a ship will pick them up from the center and take them to the Academy.
  • Notable Assets: The only Omicron Station
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy: The Academy is split up into four "Associations", which are "schools" within the Academy that specialize in various things and compete frequently in sports, grades, and projects. Each of these associations are rather independent, having their own individual hierarchies, ways of teaching, subject matter, and etc. These associations are however subservient to the Board, a committee of high ranking neutral staff of the Academy. Should any associations wish to change a room module within the school to a different room, it must be approved by The Board. Should any association wish to bring in a new student not discovered through the standard processes, it must be approved by the board. And any sort of competition between the associations must be approved by, and regulated by The Board. This Board is to effectively keep fairness at the center of the Academy, that every association has equal access to the same tech, rooms, and students.
The four Assocations are as follows

The Nerfworks
Speciality: Droids and Programming
Symbol and Colors: Red and Gray
Motto: "Progress isn't always high tech"

The Nerfworks is by far the most relaxed out of the four associations. It
can best be described as a bunch of scrappers and tech wizes
using their practical experience to screw around with tech and
droids in order to figure them out using first hand experience. Teachers
tend to be members of the Nerf Works who graduated in the
Academy's early years.
The Nerfworks tends to act much like a democracy. Any decision that
would impact the whole association is put up to a general vote, and which
ever decision gets the most votes is the one the association goes with.
Teachers tend to be viewed more like counselors or older siblings who
give guidance less than some formal head of the organization.
Much of the teaching is done through hands on experimentation. Actual
classes are something that the students vote on. Should there be
need for a knowledge that none of the students can teach each other,
a class will be called and the teachers will come in and share what knowledge
they have on the subject as well as assign homework and studying materials.
One graduates from the Nerfworks as soon as they design a fully functioning
droid or program who's patent is bought out by a company.
The students also manage the factories and droids across the Academy,
producing the mechanical contraptions that other associations need
for their various specialties.

The Nerfworks get their name from the scrappy think tank
notorious for its under funded nature.
The Mirshe'adate

Speciality: Ship Engineering, Martial Training, and Weapons Engineering
Symbol and Colors: A Black Stylized Pentagram
Motto: "Through strength and pride we will excel"

With the constant state of war in the galaxy, many Mandalorians were looking for employment.
The Mirshe'adate were invited to join the Academy, where they would share
their expertise of weapons and ship tech to those wanting to excel in those fields. A deal
was later brokered that any student interested in becoming a full fledged mandalorian
could take extra classes in their language and culture to be assimilated as a true mandalorian.

The Mirshe'adate are by far the strictest of the association, run much like a military boot camp.
Classes are strict, regulated, and scheduled. What little down time the students of the Mirshe'adate have
is expected to be used in training in hand to hand combat or bonding with members of their unit. Every
dormitory of 12 students is considered a unit. Units eat, train, and take classes together. Individuals are
not given a grade, instead the unit is graded as a whole. Some of the most renowned students of
the Academy have come from the Mirshe'adate and their strict spartan take on education.

Some of the curriculum of the Mirshe'adate is taken off of Academy grounds. Senior units close to
graduation will often be taken to nearby uninhabited planets for wilderness and survival training.
They will mostly fend for themselves with expert Mandalorians on stand by should they
need rescue or assistance in any sort of dire situation.

Most of the teachers are recent additions to the Academy. Mandalorians looking for
employ as the Mandalorian empire fell and Mandalore now under sith control. One graduates
from the Mirshe'adate after completing one of three degrees, each with its own training and classes.
One may also seek to become a Mandalorian along with their degree, however this means extra
classes, restrictions, expectations, and training. The Mirshe'adate students also act as
an impromptu militia encase of any sort of attack, with teachers and senior students who
have completed their training acting as squad commanders.
The Sophonts
Speciality: Physics and other Sciences
Symbol and Colors:
Motto: "Logic and Understanding are my Light in the Darkness"
