Publicly, Teta Technologies provides technical and engineering solutions to worlds across the galaxy, mostly dealing with the Core Worlds but often conducting public works and other operations pro bono for impoverished Outer Rim worlds, often employing a majority of local workers wherever possible. As the company has grown, it has moved into developmental loans and financing, and even providing limited secure banking services to select clients from oligarchs to governments. Though profitable it has remained as an ethical company that works to share its wealth with the less fortunate outside the Core.
Tetatech operations can quickly and efficiently provide disaster aid to any location in the galaxy, bringing food, water and shelter, at the same time as they conduct repair and replacement of damaged infrastructure to isolated worlds. Over time it became more efficient and more economic for the company to produce everything it might require in house, thus leading to the company shifting it's focus to producing military equipment from blasters to star cruisers along as rations, blankets, clothing, medical equipment, transport vehicles, and prefabricated structures. All developed, designed, and produced by the company within the many industrial plants scattered throughout the Core Worlds.
The company's ethos strives to ensure that all its products are at least 10% better than anything else available on the market, and at the lowest possible unit cost. By running efficient processes, the company is able to offer generous wages at all levels, as well as performance bonus incentives, as returning value to the labor force is valued ahead of overall profit. In this way, Tetatech is always able to attract and retain its workers.
Throughout the years many workers have risen, often handpicked by the CEO himself, to board level, something unheard of at other companies. Every member of the board has worked at some level for years at a production, research or security level, giving them real world experience of the workers of the company. While also an incentive to employees at all levels to strive for excellence, the main function of this process by the CEO is to bring real world experience of his company to his board of directors. The company is run by the workers, who know what is required, and thus runs as efficiently as possible.
RATIONALE
Teta Technologies began as a small local research company based on the capital world of the Empress Teta system. It was purchased from its founders by a retired Core Imperial Admiral and under his guidance, the company grew with investment into a larger concern, establishing more facilities on several major worlds. The company is publicly traded, though the majority of the shares remain in the hands of the retired Admiral, who holds the role of CEO. After the mysterious death of the retired Admiral and his most trusted protégé, control of the company has passed into the hands of the Admiral's daughter who has begun pushing for the company to further expand across the Core as well as establishing ties with a certain faction with nefarious ambitions in order to bring TetaTech to new heights and continue the work of her deceased father.
