Name:Terrotitanus
Designation: Non-sentient
Homeworld: Hell Eden
Language: N/A

Average height of adults: 7 Meters
Skin color: Mossy Green

Hair color: N/A

Breathes: Type 1

Strengths:
Acute Smell: The Terrotitan has a very acute sense of smell and it uses this sense of smell to track prey that it has already bit. It doesn’t get closer then a few kilometers to its victim until the smell of its festering wound becomes nice and ripe.

Camouflaged: A thin layer of a specific species moss covers the creatures body in a pseudo symbiotic relationship. The creature provides nutrients to the moss and the moss provides camouflages for the creature.

Deadly Bite: Why the Terrotitan lacks in speed, stamina and bite force it makes up for with its deadly bite. The Terrotitan has evolve with special glands that hold a lethal cocktail of bacteria. Once it strikes it simply stalks its prey until it succumbs to severe infection. Often time the prey animal just can’t continue on and is consumed why still alive.

Weaknesses:

Slow Reflexes: The TerroTitan is not a very agile creature nor is it a very dexterous creature. It relies on lightning fast strikes and its first hit to down its prey.

Bad Vision : The ultimate Ambush predator, the Terrotitan has bad vision and relies on its other senses when on the prowl.

Smell that?: The Terrotitan is always accompanied by the stench of carrior as huge chunks of meat and gore are stuck in its massive maw and horns. It has been said if the wind turns you can smell one from a mile away.

Low Stamina: The Terrotitan isn’t a very endured creature, capable of running burst of 30-35 kilometers per hour it is unable to keep up much speed for longer then a few minutes or so.

Slow Metabolism/Cold/Warm: The Terrotitan has a slow metabolism, it is somewhat comparable to a cold blooded creature’s metabolism in that it takes the creature a long while to digest food. It is thought that the creature goes through cycles where its body shift from warm too cold blooded.

Distinctions: Terrotitans range from 15 to 20 meters in lengths with lithe builds designed for compact power and quick strikes. With long tails that make up almost half of their body lengths. Their heads have long snouts with a mouth filled with dagger like teeth that are covered in gore and viscera and reek of death. Their heads have razor sharp horns on each side and one in the center of the creature’s head.

The creature has small forward facing eyes that are above the five nostril slits that are on each sides of its upper snout. These slits are filled with small nodules known as olfactory receptors. This creature’s olfactory receptors are unlike any previously studied they are small and filled with a plasma like fluid. It is unknown at this time if the fluid or another organ that is connected is responsible to the strong scent.

Average Lifespan: 300+, Do to its extreme hibernation it currently unknown its exact life span but dating test on several specimens have found them ranging in between the ages of 250 with the oldest being thus far 300 years of age.

Races: NA

Estimated Population: Found only on Hell Eden it is estimated that there are 25,000 of the creatures throughout the Thoh Temperate Rainforest Zone. This estimate is based on a count per square hundred kilometers, other apex species and the amount of food these creatures require.

Diet: Carnivore, Primary…. Secondary Scavenger

Communication: Hisses, roars, clicks and a guttural throat grunt

Culture: Once a Terrotitan has consumed enough flesh it goes into a state where its body shifts to a cold blooded nature to conserve energy. This state puts them into an almost hibernated state where the terrotitan finds a nest area and lays down using its moss skin to keep it hidden. In this state it is only semi-conscious and is smelling for rivals in its territory and females that have become fertile and ready for mate. When either of those criteria have been met or its starting to feel hungry its body slowly begins to become warm blooded again.

Once its body has become warm it will either hunt, find its mate or the trespasser on the creature’s territory. When the situation has been resolved the Terrotitan returns to its lair where it will go back into its cold blooded and hibernated state to conserve its energy.

When two Terrotitan’s encounter each other two things are about to happen, they are either about to mate if it is a male and a female and the female is in season or they are about to fight. A terrotitan fight is a terrifying and devastating thing to watch and it usually results in one death or both of the creatures lives being claimed. Terrotitan bucks lock horns and began a deadly game of snaping at each other, clawing and using their wicked tails to lash. The fight can take anywhere from minutes when one is clearly dominate to days and the longer the fight goes the more likely that a fatality will occur.
Terrotitan females have on average 1 to 3 fawn per year, when the fawn is born it is usually when the female is in its hibernative state. The Fawn will consume part of the females tail and the carrion in its teeth before fleeing into the wild to fend for itself. Luckily the teeth carrior helps the fawn to build its own deadly bacteria supply to hunt.

Technology level: NA

General behavior: Terrotitans are solitary creatures by nature and do not play well with others. Why they are definitely an apex predator they are one of the least likely to be a danger to a humanoid or humanoid settlement do to their long periods of being inactive only awakening to eat, mate and fight off interlopers to their territory. Its odd that they do not care about other predators only their own species. In fact other apex predators seem to ignore the Terrotitan completely, perhaps this is do to their toxic bite!
All in all Terrotitans are dangerous only when they are on the hunt, during their hibernation state they are completely harmless unless your another Terrotitan.

History:
One of the first creatures discovered by the ZyTech the Terrotitan that was encountered was unfortunately on the hunt. This Terrotitan attacked and killed three scientist before the rest of the band could escape. Luckily one of the scientist that was consumed was carrying a tracking device this allowed our teams to track the creature for several days before it stopped moving completely. We were unsure if it was because it had been slain by another carnivore or mega herbivore or if it had passed Dr Jenkins PDA out.

We dispatched a couple of seeker droids to its location and we found it lying there almost asleep. This provided us with a chance to collect samples of its flesh, saliva and fecal matter for testing and analysis. It seemed to stay in this state for a full standard months before it slowly started to rouse and continued on its way. We believed at this time that it was back on the hunt and that it woke only occasionally to feed. We kept several seeker droids on it to continue our observation of the creature.

It seemed to be patrolling its territory and freshening its marks…… a thick black goo… we need samples… ok back on track until it encountered another one of its species. This is when we managed to locate the sexual identity of the creature in question and it turns out it was male and it had been tracking a fertile female for the last few days. That was an interesting session that we observed but it soon returned to its nest while we dispatched a second seeker to watch the female. I can safely say at this point we are just barely beginning to understand this creature and it may take many more years at the rate it sleeps before we understand enough to publish.

Notable Player-Characters:

Intent: To begin fleshing out the creatures of the Hell Eden planet and to create the first Apex predator that is both interesting and beautifully strange at the same time. To further impress the new Codex Master Lorelei with the beastiest of beasties!
