Tav Vash was once known as a Morellian Enforcer, a title that was spoken with the kind of respect usually reserved for people best avoided, if you intended on breaking the law that was. Over the decades, and then the century—this reputation was worn down, not by a change of heart, but by a growing disinterest in being shot at on someone else's behalf. The galaxy's forgotten corners were considered quieter with every passing notion, the Core Worlds constantly and on fire, and so a transition into treasure hunting was moreso out of boredom and happenstance than any particular ideological shortcomings.
Star maps, ancient ruins, and the half-collapsed memorials of long-dead empires were studied with a patience afforded only by Morellian blood. Cultures were collected the way some people gathered spare credits, and it became unclear whether Tav traveled for profit or simply because he got bored staying in one place for more than a week or two at most. Reports from various ruins suggested that he had a talent for making old security systems malfunction at precisely the right or wrong moment. These claims were neither confirmed nor denied; Tav only said that "the doors were already trying to kill me."
In the present era of galactic chaos, instability and shifting powers, Tav Vash's name surfaced in the quieter channels of spacer gossip. A gunslinger by habit, a scholar by greed and desire for adventure, and a survivor by stubbornness and luck, he moved from world to world with a satchel of questionable relics and the vague air of someone pretending he definitely did not steal them. Those who traveled alongside him insisted there was more to the man than his dry jokes and steady blaster hand. Tav never corrected them, which was considered proof enough. Whispers of a woman, a life forgotten always raised, but never really spoken to him.
Given his history, it is assumed the destination will involve dust, danger, and yet another ruin that "looked safe enough at the time."
