APPEARANCE:
Tarjik Darkin is a tall, lean Kuati male with brown hair and eyes. While not necessarily fit, he does his best to maintain a healthy physique. Growing up as a Kutai aristocrat, he carries an air of authority and arrogance about him that translates into a cool and, at times, over-confident demeanor.

BIOGRAPHY:
Born to a lesser Kuati noble family, Tarjik Darkin was born to a wealthy, aristocratic mother and a Telbun (a slave-like concubine) father. Growing up in a noble court, Tarjik learned at a young age how to handle the political intrigue and read people, something he proved very adept at as he maneuvered and manipulated his way up the political latter. While not allowed to inherit due to the matrilineal society of the Kuati, he did manage to wiggle his way into a lucrative management position in his family's intra-planetary trading company. Both an administrative and hands-on position, Tarjik became well acquainted with overseeing logistics, negotiating trade deals, managing products and workers, and even traversing hyperplanes. His success did not go unnoticed as he was soon approached by black market organizations with the promise of lucrative, although illegal, contracts. Seeing an opportunity to gain influence and wealth outside of his noble family dynamic, the ambitious Tarjik accepted the offers, where he soon found himself managing his own secondary shipping operation in terms of narcotics, illegal weaponry, and other illicit goods. During this time, he became known best in the underworld world for his slave trade, with his ability to gain, break, and maintain high-quality slaves making him a go-to name for high paying crime lords and organizations in that market.

Unfortunately for Tarjik, one of his ships carrying illicit shipments of weapons was caught, due to an incompetent crew, and was traced back to him. When news of his secret smuggling ring broke, Tarjik's disgraced family revoked his position in their business and their support for his defense, virtually banishing him from the family. With a warrant out for his arrest and nowhere else to go, Tarjik called in favors from another noble family, who was very close to his operations, and managed to sneak out of Kuat where he met up with some of his underworld acquaintances. While he had been cut off from his noble wealth and assets, his private account, full of illegally gained credits, and personal connections to some shady figures granted Tarjik his own ship, a YT-2000 modified for slaving and smuggling, which he dubbed "The Dancing Kuati". Setting out to continue his life of illegal mercantile businesses, Tarjik is determined now more than ever to make a name for himself in the galaxy, after learning how to work his new ship.
