Talsin Lota was born into the wealthy and influential House Lota of Empress Teta and was raised from a young age with the idea that he was a servant of the people. While many noble houses on Empress Teta were dedicated to their own pleasures and desires, the Lord Lota broke with the past after his older brother died under mysterious circumstances. He pushed for his family to become more involved with the citizenry, using their wealth to sponsor social initiatives and welcomed the Galactic Alliance in with open arms.
This left them increasingly less popular with the other Teta Houses who suspected all these good deeds were a mere front for the Lord Lota to claw his way to the top of the hierarchy. Perhaps to even maneuver himself to the defunct throne of Empress Teta.
In the end it mattered little. The Empire invaded the Galactic Alliance and managed to conquer Teta. Whereas many Houses were left unscathed, a clear and supportive sponsor of the Alliance was pushed out. They managed to escape with their lives, but their vast holdings on Empress Teta were lost to them. Luckily the family had diversified across the years and would not be left destitute.
Still, all of this came as a shock to young Talsin Lota, who had been expected to step in as his father's heir in due course. Instead he awakened his potential in the Force during the escape, to save his siblings from the blade of assassins.
His father, still believing in the cause of the Alliance, send him to the Jedi to train. This was not exile, he assured his young son. But he must train and learn to master his powers before he could take his position as his father's heir. This was about responsibility... about serving the people. Nobody asked Talsin if he even still believed in the Alliance after they abandoned all those worlds and left them to their devices.
Now he struggles to adjust to a new reality.
One where he must learn to use the Force... the Lightsaber... and attempt to become the man his family always wished him to become. All in the backdrop of a war and a new menace right on their doorstep.
