SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Creates an aura of intimidation and fear around the wearer, affecting those within a range no further than ten meters in any direction.
  • Draws constantly on the wearer and ambient force energy as a source of power, but the wearer cannot increase the flow of force energy through the talisman in order to increase its output.
  • Amplifies emotions of fear and unease in those within a short distance, no further than ten meters in any direction, typically amplifying the sensation one might associate with their greatest fears.
Strengths:
  • Creates an aura of intimidation and fear around the wearer, projecting outwards ten meters in diameter with the talisman at its center. The talisman also amplifies preexisting sensations emotions of fear and unease in those within the effected range. This is designed specifically to trigger the sensation one associates with their greatest fear in order to maximize its effect.

Weaknesses:
  • Puts a constant strain on the wearer, as the talisman draws directly from them as a power source - this is made slightly less than uncomfortable to the wearer due to it also drawing on ambient force energies, though it uses more power than ambient force energy would be able to provide, except in instances of close proximity to a force nexus.
  • The wearer cannot increase the influence of the talisman on others by attempting to increase the flow of force energy into the pendant.
  • The effects of the talisman can be dulled or even negated by competent use of battle meditation.
  • Great mental fortitude will aid in dulling the effects of the talisman.
  • Species with innate resistances or immunity to mental intrusion via the force will feel no effect from this object (such as Hutts, Epicanthix, and so on).
  • When exposed to a Ysalamir field, close enough to Void stone, or in an area where the force is otherwise inaccessible, this talisman will have no effect as it requires the force to function.

DESCRIPTION
After the pact between Irina and Darth Carnifex was forged in blood and her service to the Sith lord was officiated, the two agreed that something needed to be made to commemorate the occasion. Having spent most of her time with rituals, creating objects of intrigue, and studying techniques not unlike Sith alchemy, Irina decided upon creating a talisman for the Sith lord that would suit his already imposing figure.

Designed to compliment the powerful and dark aura that the Panathan king carried with him, and imbued with the very powers that Irina most heavily focused on in combat, the talisman carries with it an aura of fear and unease. Powered by both the ambient force energy in the surrounding environment, as well as leeching off of those who wear it, the talisman emits a sensation of fear that is intended to trigger the same sensations in one's mind that one would experience when facing their greatest fears while also amplifying any pre-existing feelings of terror and unease in those effected. The range of this effect reaches as far as ten meters away from the talisman in any direction, but never further than that.

This is most certainly not comparable to an actual assault on the mind when experienced by anyone with the ability to do so - intended only to build on the Zambrano king's intimidation factor, not to make him into a thing of nightmares - as it can easily be mitigated by any competent use of battle meditation, and mental fortitude and experience in dealing with being under mental duress certainly alleviates the effects of the talisman. For example, someone who has learned to deal with assaults on the mind will be far less affected, if at all, when compared to the average person without the willpower or training to deal with such sensations.

Species which are innately out of reach from mental assaults are, naturally, unable to be effected by this talisman, such as Hutts and Epicanthix. While worn it will always place a constant drain on the wearer's reserves, causing the wearer to experience fatigue normally associated with utilizing the force too much earlier than usual, and places them at a disadvantage when engaging in largely force-centered bouts.

The wearer is unable to increase the effects of the talisman through providing or attempting to force more of their reserves into the talisman, as it would require the presence of a force nexus to even begin to show enhanced effects. (A PC may not increase the effects of this talisman through their own reserves, regardless of whether they believe themselves to be on par to a force nexus or not - because they are not.) The only effects that are enhanced when within or directly in the vicinity of a force nexus is the range of the effects, which increases to a maximum of another ten meters - depending on the size of the force nexus and the proximity to it (i.e; the smaller the nexus, the closer one needs to be for this benefit to take place.)

Amplifies the emotions of fear and unease in those within the effected range, up to ten meters away from the wearer in every direction, especially the sensation one would associate with facing their greatest fears.
  • This reads like the same thing, twice, with a bit of rewording in between. Could you streamline this into a single Strength, please? It's very confusing at the moment.
  • Furthermore:

no further than five to ten meters in any direction.
  • So is this like, an aura that only exists between the 5–10 m radius, and is nonexistent in the <5 and the >10 range? Clarify this, please.

@mention me with edits or questions.

My bad, I wrote this up at 3am and didn't proofread the following morning!

It operates <= ~10 meters. I've reworded it to just say ten meters, as I realize in hindsight that's a bit vague.

The fear/unease stuff has been combined into a single strength, I had kept them separate as it both creates an aura of unease and fear, as well as amplifies existing sensations of both, and figured that would justify listing it as two strengths rather than one.

Since its power stems from the Force, please add under Weaknesses that it won't work if exposed to Force nullification of some sort (Ysalamiri, Voidstone, etc.)
