I am to forge my new beskar'gam in heavy black iron as per the scout commander's orders. It will be perhaps my finest creation to date. I will start with the main body of the armour. The halaas and nor’cabur will perhaps be the toughest challenges in the creation process. It is where the power source and the life blood of the systems within the armour sit behind the heavy plates. Forge Master Hark aids me in this task. He guards the creation of the true beskar material close to his heart as does every clan smith. It doesn't stop him from allowing me to swing the mighty hammer of his craft to beat the heated metal into submission. To force to take its rounded form. The pieces must be made exact so they clasp together in one steadfast form to protect my major organs. We use durasteel to help make the metal more malleable. Pure beskar is too brittle. Enough kinetic energy and it will shatter. Not enough of the metal and I may as well wear leatheris. An odd craft that is smiting. A war of man against metal.

We spend hours twisting and hammering. Heating and cooling the plates. He adds another metal I do not recognise. Something small that was for the colour that when time allowed through the process gave its grey-like colour. Making it easier for warriors to paint it the void black that was seen within our unit of elite scouts. The scouts I am now part of.

Kad Ha'rangir will be pleased with our work. As well as the bloodshed this armour will allow me to offer to him.

The main body of the armour has finally been finished. Now for the shart'as bal jatne ghet’bur. The upper gorget is to protect my throat from flying shrapnel and blades. It's not secret that jetti'kade are easily deflected by the main plates forcing them to slash for the gaps in the natural bends of the armour. I would rather not offer them a chance for such an easy killing stroke. We made the gorget by bending a strip of beskar into a circlet to fit around the throat between my helmet and chestguard. It will also help keep the seal when fighting in toxic air. Or space.

For the stomach plate the Forge Master doesn't made a solid metal plate. I have to bend, crawl and duck after all and a solid form would only serve to hamper my movements. He opts for a mesh to allow me to shape it to the natural form rather than a rigid piece of metal. When we are done I hope we can begin on the arms and hands in the days to come.

With the chest and stomach armour covered we smelt more iron from the ore from the storage bay. The fresh metal will be for the bes’marbure, kom’rks bal shun’bure. The plates that will cover from shoulder to hand. We pour the molten beskar into the casts set aside for the process. For another few days we hammer away at the cooling metal to bash and batter them into shape. We also take time to start smelting the knuckle-plate blades. It's a time consuming cycle of hammering, cooling and heating. Only to fold it over again before setting them back into the mould.

Finally it's starting to come along like armour. Weeks have passed but I can see my efforts will be well worth the effort when it's all finished. I've been working on the leg plating now. Ensuring that my thighs and groin are protected. You never know where the enemy might shoot!

I've also worked on armoured covers for the boots that will up to and over my knees so I retain mobility on the move. I've not even finished casting the shell and already I cannot wait to start on the electronic systems.

And the helmet....aaah how it will be remembered through the ages.
