STRENGTHS

Alchemised Songsteel: The alchemised songsteel is incredibly durable, capable of withstanding lightsaber strikes, blaster bolts and particle weapons.
If it bleeds: Each blade has been imbued with a refined form of blood trail, allowing the user to track any creature or sentient that they draw blood, ichor or the relevant equivalent from. The user can maintain approximately five trails at any given time, all of which potentially spanning interstellar distances.

WEAKNESSES

Alchemised: These blades naturally attract discharges of Force Lightning, essentially turning them into the equivalent of lightning rods. Probably goes without saying, but this is not a great idea when you don’t have much of a hilt to safeguard you.
Close & Personal: This is not a reach weapon. It requires the user to close the distance and fully embrace all the risks that entails.
Force Null: Areas of force nullification, such as those created by ysalamiri, reduce the knives to just that. Knives.
Blood Trails: Blood trails created by these knives only last for approximately ten days before fading. If you lose the knife or have it parted with you for longer than a day, the trails automatically fade.
If it doesn’t bleed: Well, you can’t track it. Least, not with these knives, anyway. They don’t require an extensive offering, but they do require something to work from.
Force Light: While not strictly a darkside artefact, they can still be damaged by applications of Force Light much in the same way as all creations of Sith Alchemy.

DESCRIPTION

A wicked claw like weapon, the Tal Oya'Karir was designed as a discrete little weapon that can be easily palmed and brought to bear at a moments notice. Of course, ideally in such situations, the enemy is put down for the count in relatively short order. In the event that such an encounter doesn’t go exactly to plan, however, it doesn’t hurt to have a little bit of insurance.
In a manner very much the reverse of the conventional Blood Trail technique, the Tal Oya'Karir requires the wielder to spill blood to forge the tracking bond. Once this has been achieved, the owner can then psychically track their quarry for ten days across vast galactic distances, unerringly honing in on them like a hungry vornskr.
Beyond that, as stated, the Tal Oya'Karir is a relatively simple weapon. Deadly and efficient for sure, but simple in design. Noghri Karambit. Lightweight songsteel, reinforced duraplast handle, nightshadow coating. Monomolecular refined edge, because if you’re going to threaten someone with a good time, might as well go that extra mile.
Still, there isn’t much outlandish in the base construction of the weapon itself, although nothing to turn your nose up at if you know what you’re doing with it, either.
