DESCRIPTION

The TA5 forsakes the traditional Hegemonic Automaton armor scheme for something a bit more advanced. Since it is designed to go up against any many of lightsaber-equipped Force User, it made sense to manufacture them out of something resistant to such attacks. ArmaTech was consulted in this regard. The armor they produced featured a metal matrix composite composed of Phrik and Arginium, both important to keeping the TA5 operational no matter the situation. Phrik provides the armor with significant resistance to Lightsabers, light and medium blaster and slug weaponry, and has the capability of surviving heavier weapons as well. Agrinium is known for providing Ion and EMP resistance, and when coupled with Fused Quartz Shielding over internal components and wiring, provides the droid with significant battlefield durability.

Programming for the droid came from an assortment of sources. Among them are the recorded subjects such as Vrag, Raziel, Darth Ferus, Darth Mythos, exhibiting a number of lightsaber styles. Other combat styles included in the droid’s programming are taken from recordings of the likes of Nyos Val, Draco Vereen, and Count Morcus. These along with knowledge of the seven classic lightsaber styles taken from basic Holocrons and Datacrons provide the droid with a plethora of combat algorithms to select from and to assist in detecting the style of its opposition, similar to the IG-100 of antiquity.

The TA5 is optimized to battle and kill Force Sensitives of all kinds, partially because of their considerable melee functionality and efficiency, but also because they were built to be extremely difficult to destroy. They are capable of suffering significant loss of structural integrity before becoming completely inert. Several test models were known to continue fighting even after bisection, amputation of limbs, and decapitation, and is some cases remain effective in their primary combat role. The multi-armed construction of the TA5 allows it to suffer several amputations before it becomes less effective than traditional droids, and its digitigrade legs and feet allow it to grasp objects with its feet, though with less dexterity.

As with all Hegemonic Automaton droids, the TA5 is prone to rapid personality development which may interfere with its ability to follow orders and technique. Simulations show that TA5s show remarkable combat improvements when not memory wiped at regular intervals. They do, however, become incredibly bloodthirsty. TA5s will coldly hack down allies if it enables them faster avenue to their enemies and have been seen to even toy with their quarry. They kill for sport. Some TA5s even take to the macabre practices of draping themselves in the skins of their enemies, forming crude charms and sigils from their bones as trophies. They cease to acknowledge the code of wartime ethics placed in them by Hegemonic Automaton, such as treatment of prisoners, civilians, and so forth. Civilians and prisoners seldom need to worry about a rogue TA5 targeting them. Typically sapient, renegade TA5s will find their way to gladiatorial arenas and other locations of bloodsport in search for the ultimate foe- someone to test their skills. TA5s regard concepts like honor and chivalry as idiotic and cannot comprehend them, making them natural enemies of the TA4.

Hegemonic Automaton and ArmaTech Combat Systems are NOT responsible for the actions of any TA5s that achieve sapience. Regular memory wipes are strongly encouraged.

I've actually been using the tag system to keep track of that. You can click on either the Hegemonic Automaton tag or the Talos Series tag to see all relevant Hegemonic Automaton threads and products.

Links have been added regardless.

This is not too bad as it's basically a slightly more advanced Magna Guard.

I am however going to remind all parties involved that if someone were to make a PC character utilizing this sub they would still need to do the required training threads in order for their character to properly use a lightsaber, as is within the rules of the board.

Approved.
