DESCRIPTION

The TA4 Ultra Battle Droid is the last step in Hegemonic Automaton’s Talos line of battle droids. It is built somewhat similarly to the TA1, holding a great deal of emphasis on speed and agility. Designed to fulfil roles similar to IG-100 MagnaGuards, Vuuzhandroids, Mirari bodyguard droids, and Echani Mimicry Battle Units, the TA4 as an elite combat droid for use as bodyguards or fear-instilling shocktroops. Equipped with a J2 Droid Brain, the TA4 easily becomes the most lethal droid of its type on the market.

The TA4 is in possession of self-repairing Laminanium armor, reinforced with a tougher variant of dura-armor. This, by no means, makes the droid invincible. What it does is enable it to take a severe amount of punishment from small arms fire and basic melee weapons. Grenades of sufficient yield can knock a TA4 out of commission, as can blaster cannons and other high-power weapons. Like the rest of the Talos series, the TA4 boasts an ionization buffer to protect it from EMP weaponry.

The TA4 has a pair of Repulse-hands as built in armaments. These devices are based on the cybernetic augmentations of the same name, and allow the droid an unbelievable amount of strength in terms of punching the living daylights out of enemies. These can be activated and deactivated on a whim, so the droid does not accidentally tear apart any weapons it happens to be holding. For the most part, the TA4 holds a predisposition towards melee weapons, primarily blades and staffs. It is programmed to be incredibly well-versed in the Echani and Mandalorian martial arts, utilizing thousands of hours of footage in its programming. Despite a preference for melee weapons, the TA4 is just as apt in its use of a wide range of blasters, slugthrowers, and even heavier weapons.

Finally, the droid comes equipped with several pieces of miscellaneous equipment to ensure it can respond to any number of hostiles attempting any number of tactics. A built in scanner and sensorscope allows it to maintain vigilance against a variety of threats. An advanced Gyroscope system allows the droid better balance and mobility. Taking a page from IG-100 Magnaguards, a secondary, back-up J1 droid brain is located in the chest of the droid. Also on the chest is a back-up photoreceptor, allowing the droid to fight even in the event of a decapitation, albeit with reduced combat effectiveness.

Due to the heightened intelligence offered by the J2 droid brain, TA4s have a similar problem to their counterparts. Most TA4 Ultra Battle Droids simply seem to adopt a very martial arts oriented, honor-based attitude. They crave worthy opponents and actively seek to better their own skills and adopt more and more weapons proficiencies into their programming, as well as adopting Atrisian accents into their speech. They will also defect if they find their masters to engaged in "dishonorabu" conduct or lack "disciprine."

Due to the inherent risks of a self-aware, self-motivated TA4, customers utilizing TA4s are strongly advised to perform routine memory-wipes, especially in the aftermath of large scale battles, where the TA4 is running at peak capacity.

Hegemonic Automaton is not responsible for the actions of TA4s that achieve self-awareness.
