OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To give a visual and description of a ring given to Syrena by her former master made with an ambiguous crystal with healing properties.
  • Canon Link: Ankarres Sapphire
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Primary Source: Ankarres Sapphire
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Made with duraplast for increased durability and coated in platinum for appearances.
  • Crystal possesses healing properties considered to be associated with the Ankarres Sapphire and capable of potent healing properties.
    • This comes primarily in the form of healing a wound or injury of an individual it is brought into close proximity or contact with that shares an alignment with the wearer.
STRENGTHS
  • Ankarres Potential: While the healing capabilities of the crystal are potent enough to heal minor injuries it is only capable of sustaining the life of a grievously wounded individual until they can receive further healing from proper healing powers or medical personnel.
  • Alignment Polarity: A special property of the crystal, leading to the rumor of it being the Antarres Sapphire, is that of the crystals inherent rejection of individuals of a polar alignment of the wearer.
    • If a darksider touches the ring or gem while it is in the possession of a lightsider it will potentially burn them by heating up immensely.
  • Small Item: While the gem itself stands out as a fairly beautiful sapphire, being a ring it is fairly easy to hide in a variety of cases.
WEAKNESSES
  • Proximity Warning: The crystals abilities only function when in close proximity or direct contact with the individual possessing the wound being treated; dependent entirely upon the severity of the injury.
  • Nasty Wound: The crystal cannot bring the dead back to life, nor can it heal the grievously wounded back to proper health. Rather it can only functionally sustain their vitals at a stable rating until the individual can receive proper healing or medical treatment.
  • The Wrong Hands: The properties of the crystal can be reversed to work on a darksider and harm a lightsider should the crystal be turned by a darksider.
  • Just a Ring: While the crystal itself is variably potent in its abilities it is still just a gemstone on a ring made from duraplast.
DESCRIPTION
It is unknown how the crystal came into his possession. Those who knew him would have said that he purchased it from a roaming trader while others would attest that he had carried it all his days in the form of a family heirloom. Those who are familiar with it, however, have spread the rumors that the Antarres Sapphire has once again been found in the galaxy at large. Rumors that, like many, are nearly impossible to found with little to no records left in the galaxy to provide solid proof.

What is known about the crystal, however, is that it possesses very similar abilities to the Antarres Sapphire and that it has been placed into a ring that he chose to gift to his adopted daughter, Syrena Kothari. For how long he had intended to gift it to her even he did not know, but it was one of a number of items he had prepared for her before his disappearance. She was a young and naive girl who would be thrust into an unforgiving galaxy.

He sought nothing more than to provide her the protection and potential any daughter deserved.
