What this device does is essentially act as a Fake "IFF" for a ship, allowing it to pretend that it is part of one Faction when it is not. This does however have vulnerabilities. First and foremost, a ship belonging to the Faction must be studied so that the codes could be replicated and modified to be a suitable Facsimile. Secondly, a good enough intelligence officer or hacker could remove the cloaking of the IFF, revealing what the IFF truly is.
It was made by Suvian as a device for ships even though they don't produce ships, there are companies who do and they might be interested. This device costs roughly 30,000 credits to make. So roughly 100,000 credits are charged per unit, allowing them to break even and produce more of these. This device is also something Suvian has made with full intentions of using themselves later when they actually make their own ship.
This device is not infallible. It does drain a considerable amount of power from the ship it is put on. Thus it is advised and recommended that a dedicated power cell be provided for the device itself.
