Surge is a good pilot. Nay a great pilot. When he is at the helm of a starship he is one with that baby. Its almost like he can speak to the damn ship. While he is flying, Korso is invincible...he is a God. Off the helm though he is a bum. Not to mention a compulsive gambler. And not just the high stakes kinds. Korso gambles with his life and most of the times without him realizing this consciously
For instance when the feared Vong Artemis Oubaldi became head of the Band of Outlaws and Korso was his subordinate...he ended up falling for the one woman in the entire syndicate he should have stayed away from. Lanei, the Boss's woman. As if that wasnt enough, he boldly pursued her too. Narrowly avoiding a visceral death in the process.
Also he is terrible with money. Cant save up to save his life. Which is why is now in indentured service to Midnight who doesnt pay him nearly enough.
Oh and he is a terrible liar and habitual boaster.
